I love Metroid: Other M. Just got to the credits last night and am anxious to jump back into it for the epilogue. Sure it's got some issues, but the game is just plain fun. Well, I didn't really like the pixel hunt bits and I didn't like that final first person bit at the end, but otherwise.... Now, I've never actually played any other Metroids substantially, other then one of the GBA ones which I didn't like much at all.
I think Nintendo should take a break from Metroid games on a console until the next generation. Metroid Prime 3 and Metroid Other M did about all Metroid could do on the Wii and another game in any of those styles would get old very fast.

The 2-D and the FPS Metroid have there own way of doing things. Nintendo try to bring the two together, but we end up with Bad acting, and Samus pissing herself, everytimes she see Ridley.
I still say, they were at the Right Path, when they Made Metroid Prime:Hunters A Game that should have been on the Wii, not DS. Other M should have been a DS game, with out the Heavy Story, The Gameplay fits better on an Handheld.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...

Sometimes this just needs to happen with game series.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
As sad as it makes me, I can almost guarantee that the next Metroid game will have little to no story behind it aside from "acquire items, level up, fight Ridley, fight whatever final boss is, see Samus in her undies if you get 100%." I totally agree with the line quoted from the person above me; you can't change anything. As someone who has been playing Metroid games for nearly 20 years now, I felt like the added character depth in Other M was a refreshing, natural progression for the series. It's a shame that all those whiny, bratty newbies who came into the series with Prime basically wanted Master Chief in a power suit and have likely killed any hope of future Metroid stories as deep or as emotional as this one.
I guess the REAL problem with Other M was the Lack of exploration, freedom, itens rellevancy and interesting setting... the crappy story you can always skip (oops)
