Resident Evil 1 and 0 were released last year. Do you think 2 and 3 will be out for the Wii as well this year?

I hope so. I stupidly got rid of my Gamecube copies a while ago and regret it. I'd like at least to see 2, and i'd defintiely love Code:Veronica as well.

I didn't think they would release a version of Zero for Wii but they did, so i suppose there's a decent liklihood. Would be really cool if they put 2 & 3 on one compilation disc, assuming that would be possible.

It would be awesome if they put 2 and 3 together on one disc for the Wii but unlikely if 1 and 0 sold well as Capcom would be cutting its profit potential in half. I'm thinking about downloading Resident Evil 1 on PS Network. I purchased the PS1 version a few years ago but never bothered to open it. Now a sealed copy is selling for a decent premium on ebay so I probably won't open it since it's becoming rare. Hopefully they'll announce 2 and 3 for the Wii at E3 or earlier.

I'd definitly pick up RE2, RE3 and RECV(My least favorite RE Game heh) for the Wii if they are actually released. Using the Wii Remote Sideways 'Nes Style' is the perfect match for these games, as RE:Archives and RE:Zero were.

I would love to play these games again someday, but I have a limit on how much I'll spend on games I've already owned once. A compilation would definitely make be consider getting these again though.

One can hope not.

I don't think so.

Capcom pretty much blew it when it came to delivering what Wii owners really wanted on said console in regards to RE. The "test" that was Umbrella Chronicles was suppose to bring at least a remake of RE2 if not, a port of RE5.

Instead, as thanks for making UC a million+ seller, we got a sequel .And then ports (RE0,RE1).

The fact that Darkside Chronicles is not selling as much as UC (in the same period of time) tells you that RE fans on the Wii had enough of these stupid tests and half-baked efforts.

So if they deliver more ports.... it's because they gave up.

Yeah, what the fans want would be Resi 5 - so long as it can be ported without being utterly gutted - or some other full game; not more rail shooters and control-tweaked re-releases.

I can't help but think that Capcom have peed in the pool too much already though and we're unlikely to be seeing any more Resi games on the Wii for a while.

Capcom recently said they were planning to expand their Resi Archives mini-series so they could come to the Wii.

The only way I could see them coming to the Wii is if they were packaged together (2&3). I think it would be borderline criminal to charge 29.99 for 10+year old PS1 games individually.

resident evil 1 and 0 were not released as far as i'm concerned, because they don't have the pointer control of RE4 so they're worthless to me. if they made a new edition of any game with re4 control i'll buy it.

I'd rather play Zero three times in a row -- and i pretty much hated Zero -- than play any more of 5 than i did. Yes, i know, people love it, and yes, it's a technically wonderful game, but oh my god i hated it so much. But maybe that's just me.

It's probably not just you; Resi 5 does seem to have gone down as a bit of a misstep after the all-round excellence of Resi 4.

Still, at least they made an effort with it. It should be borne in mind that anyone who just wants to play the earlier games again only has to pop the GameCube discs into the Wii and plug in a controller. Simply offering up the same games without any bonus content or enhanced controls just isn't good enough.

Please do this Capcom, I mean it's not like they aren't available by the truckload on a half a dozen systems already.

I'd happily pick up the GC versions if i could find Code Veronica for under $50 (check out ebay, they go for far more than that in most cases). 2 is a little more available, but still in the $20 - $25 range for a used copy (which isn't so bad). I'll probably pick that up at least (which, knowing my luck, will result in Capcom immediately announcing the next day that they would be releasing a Wii version).

Damn, i used to have the whole GC collection (Zero through Four). I think at the time i got rid of them (probably around the same time i bought my Wii?) i had played through each of them so many times (especially 1 and 4), that i didn't feel any need to hang on to them. Stupid Shpydar. =P

Thanks for the link Oregano, I think that does pretty much imply that they will release more. I hope they do.
