Topic: Could a game like Marvel vs Capcom 2 be made for wiiware

Seriously, the game its not super visually impressive, other 2D vc fighters are out and are just fine, im not sure why we never got this game or don't get games like this on wiiware, i think theres much success to be had for 2D fighters on wiiware. i also think that 2D fighters (even 3D) on wii in wiiware or retail form are indeed long overdue.

No. Its way too large of a game.

Capcom had already been asked about this and they said they wouldnt be able to fit it into the wiiware requirements however they could do it as a retail version, but they havnt said anything more about releasing it as a retail. Perhaps they think the tats vs. Capcom exclusive on wii is a fair trade off for this title.

Yep, like others have said it's not the graphics holding the release back but the size cap on Wiiware releases.

Wasnt world of goo a pretty big game too? is it really not bigger than a streetfighter type game?

IMarvel vs. Capcom would be awesome, but I would much rather see Nintendo vs. Capcom!

I think they might be concerned about the lack of buttons on the remote as well for Street Fighter games.

oddly enough the guy who is making Tats vs Capcom said that he would like to see a Nintendo vs. Capcom game. Sure he said it in a light hearted way... but deep down underneath it all you could tell that he had thought about it.

Just imagine Link given the Capcom treatment and MegaMan and Vietifull Joe fighting Mario and Donkey Kong.

As far as I know they are releasing a retail version of MvC pretty soon for the PS3, and they could certainly do it for the Wii. It's possible that TvC might drive them to release on the Wii at some point.
