For reasons I'm not sure of, I honestly thought Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out the same day. Thank god it does not. That would kill the game, and for that matter any other release in almost any other form of entertainment.
Unless you go and see The Force Awakens as many times as I saw The Dark Knight, one of these requires a lot more time than the other!
But the music is a lot weaker. It leans more to the cheap modern Sonic music (some of the Sonics anyway), complete with bad lyrics. Very different from the athmospheric music from the Wii title. And I have heard the story is also very weak.
Given that Xenoblade Chronicles had, in my opinion, probably the greatest gaming soundtrack of all time, this is not that big of a criticism really!
@Henmii: I see what you're saying, though Xenoblade Chronicles is an outstanding game so it being 'worse' would be no crime. I agree with what's already been said though, your comparison to modern Sonic soundtracks is a weird one for me as I think most if not all of the main Sonic games have great OSTs. And again, Xenoblade Chronicles had an undeniably brilliant soundtrack so even if X's is worse, it doesn't mean it's bad, I've got to say from what I've heard it sounds great. Haven't got a clue about the story as I have been avoiding it, but I think that even if I still prefer Chronicles after beating X, that won't be too bad as long as I still think X is great.
@Megumi
10 second video took 10 minutes of explanation. That sums it up.
I'm already buying this game, so reviews don't matter. It'll be interesting to see the reviews, but I think it'll score well. From the impressions I've seen(GameXplain and a couple others) the reviewers like it.
This probably isn't a good idea, but I'm going in without any of the data packs. If the game is too slow or loading too long, I may consider the basic pack. I have to wait to play this game, because I'll be out of town the weekend it comes out.
@Megumi: I've been subscribed to them for a long time now and I can't honestly remember a time when a review was THAT long. A discussion? Of course. But a review? Hmmm ... not that I remember. Maybe it's because Xeno X is such a massive and deep title that there's just so much to talk about? I don't know.

Hopefully the Data Packs will be out when I get up tomorrow because downloading stuff is so much easier and faster than doing it in the evening when EVERYBODY's online. Just gotta delete some stuff/move some stuff some other place and it should just fit in quite tightly.
I've been watching most of Derrick's gameplay videos and discussions about Xenoblade Chronicles X and those coupled with my playthrough of the first Xenoblade makes me really hyped for X. I didn't really care about it couple of months ago but now it's close to being my most hyped game ever and I rarely get hyped for games. I hope it won't disappoint. I preordered the game few days ago. I was about to preorder it earlier when I noticed that one website sold it for 40€ but they just sold the last one while I was inputting my order information. Fortunately, they got more stock and I was able to order it. I would've ordered the special edition if it was a bit cheaper but for 80€, it's not worth it. Europe doesn't even get the USB stick with music.
I was hoping I'd be able to finish Xenoblade Chronicles before X arrives but there's no way I'll be able to. I'm currently in the snowy area on Bionis' arm (can't remember the name since I just arrived). I really liked how the story got deeper on Prison Island.
It's its, not it's.

Interesting stuff here about Takahashi's history, Nintendo's development environment and Takahashi's thoughts on creators aging in the video game industry.
@Eat_Pie: Coming up with a 404 error. I searched for the review elsewhere on the site, and found a review page that says, "This review has been taken down. It will be re-published at 10am EST on November 30th." Looks like we'll have to wait for the review embargo to lift tomorrow morning.
Don't think any reviews can sway my hype at this point, but I am curious to read 'em.
