I'm not sure what happened, but I will be sure to find a more official source... Strange that now everyone forgot about the date... All my friends and my brother said they remember it comes out December 31 but yeah that's not a source lol

December 31st is a Wednesday. Most games don't come out on Wednesday. Most games come Tuesday. eShop Thursday. Nintendo games Friday or Sunday. Can't remember the last time a games came out on a Wednesday

I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Games can't be released that day.

Shops don't open (or is it in the first day of the year? Maybe both?). So no one would buy it.

It's just a popular placeholder day. Don't worry too much about it.

I know that, but as far as I remember, the OFFICIAL Smash Bros Site said December 31st but someone mentioned that is used for placeholder so I guess I'm most likely wrong.
