I really wish Ranked would stop picking Tower mode

Splatoon gets the award for the game I play most that gives me the least amount of joy. It's SOOO frustrating. Getting matched with fools who take Sniper type weapons in Rainmaker is the worst! They just sit back deep get a hundred kills and miss one or two shots for a guaranteed loss. I must say, I play Smash and can relax, even Mario Kart but this game...man. I almost think i'll be happy when they stop supporting it, I get back to S and X comes out so I"ll have something else to keep my time occupied

@pikminfan22: They did say they were going to have a way to setup online tournaments. That was a very interest thing in the last Nintendo Direct. I'm sure they'll make a mess of it though. Forbid that they actually have a way to invite your friends to games in the game itself...

January could just start the mark of Splatton year 2 which is paid dlc.

You might want to go read through a few pages, as the details aren't uniform.

Oh yeah, I've seen that a couple of times and wanted to shout not-so-nice things at my teammates. And then I thought: Nintendo made the right decision to exclude voicechat. For all I know, those strange acting players could be children, it actually would explain their behaviour.
@wisdomsprince: You can't really compare Splatoon with MK8 and Smash. Those two aren't team-based, so you're always on your own, so if you lose, the only person to blame is yourself. But in Splatoon, since it's a team-based game, you always have three other persons that you can blame. I'm not saying that they're not rightfully to blame sometimes, but only that you are dependent on three other players in comparison to Smash and MK8.
You can and will be matched with incompetent players in every online multiplayer game and from my experience, the occurence of this isn't higher than in other team-based online games. If anything, I think it's even lower because Splatoon is relatively accessible.
@pikminfan22: To be precise, they said "at least until January". This could mean the Splatoon support ends then or that it will be expanded into the future.

@Kinan: Absolutely! I also wonder how those players reach their ranks. Or maybe it's their little brother playing? Then again, why let your little brother play ranked battles on your account. ^^

I can't begin to list the number of times when I've had to solo rainmaker due to incompetent teammates, who treat it like a death match. I've found that I can solo C and B ranks, when I was going through the first time, and on my secondary profile, but you really rely on your teammates in A ranks. If they're incompetent, you're on an uphill struggle. Rainmaker's the only game I feel I excel at, so I think I'm about covered saying that.

The thing is though, if the other team thinks it's a deathmatch that's a free win basically, especially if the map has multiple entrance ways. I can't tell you how many times everyone was fighting in/around the center and I just grabbed the RM when no one was looking and ran to sub 20 distance. There's a reason it's my favorite mode.

@LztheQuack: Speaking of controls which was mentioned above please tell me you're using gyro? If not learn it fast as twin sticks might get you to B rank but you may struggle from there on.

@Nicolai ya, it was pretty close, but we were able to prevent them from gaining the lead.

@yokokazuo: Wow, that was close. It was a gamble for me that game, cuz I charged ahead and took the lead in a suicide instead of trying to get the goal, but then they almost beat us.

@Nicolai ya we had a pretty good lead for awhile, at the end I tried taking them out as they were climbing up a wall, but they got away so I super jumped back to the spawn and ran up to them to take them out with my burst bombs.
