Not going to lie, I want to see what some reviews say first.

Here's my guess what the reviews will all pretty much say. If you love Mega Man games you will love Mighty No 9 lol.

This looked so much better during the first crowdfunding period... unbelievable how a game can lose that much style and charm.

I think you forgot to finish your statement:

Gotta say, this looks so disappointing. To the point where I feel bad for anyone who put money down on the kickstarter. Can't see myself spending $15 on this, much less $30.

You should go and check out that Matsuno game too in that case. I do agree though, they advertised a very high-quality 2D art style and have delivered a very average 3D art style. This'll be a review-dependent and sale-dependent one for me I expect.

Pre-ordering is for chumps. Wait until it comes out and see if its what you want and as good as you had hoped before wasting your money.

EDIT: Wow, looks like the backers were right. The game looks really bland, and definitely doesn't look anywhere near the quality of a Mega Man game. The start of that level was just a straight line with similar enemies posing no challenge, and that run animation is terrible - looks like he should be going at twice that speed. Disappointing I imagine, though this game hasn't exactly had great press in the first place.

$30 sounds a bit steep. I'll wait for reviews and Backer feedback first.

Backers are playing the beta already, so search youtube for their feedback

I agree the art style is disappointment, but I actually really like how they're using it in animated game form based on that video. It seems really smooth and I love some of the uses of color when he destroys the bad guys and other similar scenarios. But I do entirely agree that 2d would've been a better option. Unfortunately not every game can look like Skull Girls or Wario Land: Smooth Moves.

Honestly my biggest complaint is that it feels like the Megaman X equivalent to the George Lucas special edition. YES YOU HAVE COMPUTER GRAPHICS AND CAN ADD THINGS TO THE FOREGROUND AND BACKGROUND, WE GET IT! Also reminds me a bit of Megaman Powered Up, in that the game looks unexpectedly weird in a way I can't properly describe. But that weirdness does prevent it from being as bland as people say imo.

I'm not a fan of how this looks or plays at all,i was bored by the end of that videol.I also find it hard to believe it's a $30 game, more like cashing in on the demand for a new Mega Man game.

I'm not going to lie, this game looks ugly. Maybe it's my fault for expecting more from a Kickstarter that raised what, like 3 million dollars? Aside from the visuals though, the gameplay doesn't look like much fun either. The setting is extremely dull and the level design looks boring as well. I'll probably still pick it up eventually, but I am not impressed at all.

If its any consolation, I thought it looked terrible the entire time. I wanted to believe it didn't, but it's almost out and it doesn't look any better. And I'm not just talking about the graphics. The gameplay looks dull. Like, I didn't expect "just more Mega Man", but it seems to have infused itself with mechanics that just kill the pace I would expect from an action platformer, and it adds arcade-y elements that I genuinely do not appreciate in a modern platformer, let alone a game promised to be the spiritual successor to Mega Man - you seriously thought anyone cared about the scoring system in Mega Man 1? You really think anyone cared about Mega Man 1 at all?! It's like when they added a grading system to Mega Man Zero just to make an already difficult game even more unbelievably frustrating.

...sorry, it's just...I wanted it to be good...Mega Man 2 was THE game of my childhood...the game that literally taught me the value of hard work through thorough example...the only thing that gave me any semblence in my life that I could accomplish something if I put my mind to it - that I didn't have to be stuck in a rut my whole life...and now it is dead. Well and truly dead, and nothing, not even its own creator, can bring it back...I need to be alone...

Played this at London comic con and honestly wasn't impressed or blown away, the game felt like a sub par Mega man X game from the three stages I beat.
