@MasterWario: Been there. I'd say... If you think the main mechanic is good enough, give it some time and let the ideas flow naturally. "Bowser's Frosty Fortress" took me a lot of time to get right and I re-worked it like 3 times, completely. But in the end, it was all worth it. What can I say though? I learned a lot from you.
I'll be playing more Super Mario Maker too, once my vacations end. I hope I can reach 10 uploads soon!
@AdamLikesNintend: It's pretty easy to find and do, unfortunately. Take the Bo-bomb at the beginning and just jump and let yourself take the explosion to break the ice blocks above the pipe. Go down the pipe, jump up the blue falling platforms to get the fire flower, go back through the pipe, and then take out the pirahna plants at the beginning of the level and proceed as normal from there. The last world record was three minutes and some seconds. My route was, I think, a minute and nineteen seconds. So I probably missed quite a bit.
And I generally leave comments off unless I'm just on a particularly frustrating level, or one that makes use of stupid mechanics or glitches to get through.

@Chobin: I'm not sure if Yoshi swallows whatever he has after a while like in World. I know he doesn't do that in the NSMB style. Will have to test that later. @AdamLikesNintend: I remember getting two. One of them at the very end, forgot where I got the other.
Once a LuigiMan, now a Dreamy representation of the Goddess of Nature.
Retired Palutena Gem Provider. Mario Maker Levels
@DreamyViridi: If he doesn't in NSMB then he probably won't in World. It seems like all the mechanics are made to be similar across the different games. So Yoshi won't swallow items, you can't spin jump off things you could in World, chain chomps won't break free on their own, etc.
And someone finally beat one of my levels! I was worried they were actually too hard. I thought it was only a little challenging, but I also made the level, so...

I just beat your other level, I think it's the hardest one I played this week. Stupid Lakitu.
Hi guys, I'm new so I don't exactly know how things work out here, I just wanted to share my expierence about the game with a community so I ended up here.
Here's my first level ever:

Let me know what you think about it and give me some advice if you want to
(I'm sorry for my English, it's not my first language)
I've just tried that level and thought it was good. It was nice that there were multiple routes to explore, and the small time limit kept things tense. If you want to post the link, just enter https://www.nintendolife.com/super-mario-maker/levels/4E14-0000-0150-4508 and make sure there's a blank line before and after it. It'll then appear like this:

Thank you so much for helping me and for trying the level
@crimsontadpoles: Hey, thanks for playing my Escort the Block! course, and I'm glad you liked it. I saw your comment on Miiverse, too. The fishes at the beginning of the stage were actually meant to make you hit the block and stop it dead in its tracks (and thus fail the course since you would be needing it at the end of the course), but since the block keeps on going even after being hit, I thought I'd leave the fish in to provide some challenge. The fish at the end, though... you need to stay somewhere in order to avoid it. But don't stay there for too long, especially if you started from the checkpoint.
Alright, so I collected feedback from other users about my Escape the Shipwreck! course, so I went back to the drawing board and tweaked some things (I didn't scrap the whole course and start from scratch, though.. hence the 1.1). Try it out and, as always, give feedback!
If anyone wants to try out the original version, here you go.
You might also want to try out one of my recent courses, Escort the Block!
God first.

@Chobin: Oh you must mean the big chomper. I didn't think the fire flower worked on those! Oops! It's not big deal, I'm VERY accustomed to deleting and reuploading my courses. I'm just glad you told me about that before it relatively early on, thank you!
@DreamyViridi: Cool! I think there's 4 total and they are all at least a little tricky. I really wish we could hide three star coins... maybe in a future update.
I've finally managed to complete the hard version of gnat attack, so now I've unlocked that fly outfit. Here's a quick level I made that uses that costume:
Like all of my levels that use the NES SMB theme, there's also a Pit costume hidden somewhere.
@crimsontadpoles: Congratulations! I'm trying to unlock every costume (and I don't have a single amiibo) but getting the builder costume was not very fun. I'll probably try the new version again but it's definitely not enjoyable in my opinion. I just want the costume! I'll give your course a try if you post the bookmark link so I can bookmark it for later.
@AdamLikesNintend: Good luck with that. Getting the builder costume was very hard, but the fly costume is much worse and took me a lot of tries to complete. My best advice is to try to get the technique in your long-term memory by attempting hard Gnat Attack regularly, but you don't need to spend too long on it each session. Also, this youtube video had some tips that helped me out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LopdxJXeDH8
At first, wave 1 seemed almost impossible for me. Then after some practice, I was sometimes getting to wave 2 which seemed almost impossible. Then eventually, I was occasionally getting to wave 3. When I finally beat it, I was getting to wave 3 in most of my attempts. On the plus side, if you complete hard Gnat Attack, then you should be able to easily beat easy Gnat Attack afterwards.
I'm still on Mario Maker, so I'll give your builder costume level a try.
Right, I've updated Rectangular Entanglement with everyone's feedback in mind. They're not huge changes by any means, by I think they were worth making. If you played the level before, you won't find anything that will blow your mind, but if you fancy finding a few secrets you might have missed, or if you haven't played it before, then here is the updated version!
I just played that, I didn't see this post but I was playing levels of people I follow. When I started path of the plummeting pluton my 5 year old daughter told me to do a speed run (im so proud ) and it turned out to be a great level for it so I did. If anyone wants to try to beat my time the ID is B57E-0000-00CB-81BE
Koopa cliff (ID 09AB-0000-00C4-80D4) is a good one for speed runs also. I set a record on my first run and it felt decent so I didn't try to beat it but if anyone beats me I will try to take it back.

Word of warning to people, I've discovered that 2 of my uploaded levels have been deleted from the servers. I found this out by going to the Course World, then pressing the "- select" button to see my levels, which caused a message to appear saying "The course no longer exists online" with the name of the deleted course. It's impossible to reupload the same course if it was saved in Coursebot since it remembers that it was deleted from the servers.
Thankfully, the 2 deleted courses were "Beginner Barracks (Checkpoints)" and "Mount Annihilation (checkpoints)". The original versions of these levels which are exactly the same except that they don't have checkpoints and smart powerups are still available.
