None. More tracks absolutely won't help the game at this point. The only thing that could save MK8 from becoming stale is to add more options.
That means:

  • sound options (it's a basic, why isn't it here?!)
  • free choice of laps for Vs. Mode
  • custom cups (choose 4 tracks, go for it, share it online)
  • Coin Rush Mode (more coins, MUCH more speed, going from 50cc to 200cc)
  • Superweapons like in Double Dash!! for Battle Mode
  • limiting vehicle choices for all characters to make characters a useful decision again
  • option to export replays as video files via SD Card (doesn't enhance gameplay, but not everyone uses YouTube)

I vote for this too, but obviously it would have to be in a patch, not paid DLC.

I thought I would expand on my battle mode pack idea:
New arenas:
Mario Galaxy--Just a plain, round planet to whale on everyone else.
Island Airfield--Square arena filled with water. At the corners there will be small islands with glider pads for intense air and sea battles.
(Can't think of a good title yet)--Think Waluigi Stadium meets Funky Stadium. Lots of hills, jumps, and mud.
Whispy Woods--Kirby stage with Wispy Woods at center dropping items and apples (which of course hurt players).
Retro Stages--
N64 Double Deck--The second deck could be upside-down.
Wii Delphino Pier--This time you could go IN the water!
DS Nintendo DS--One of my favorite stages. Keep it how it was, but maybe with the 3ds/gamepad.
GCN Tilt-A-Kart--Because every Mario Kart needs an arena that everyone dies in.

Not much to say here. I like Nintendo. That's about it.

Just a thought, but is anyone else convinced Nintendo's building us up to the reveal of the next Mario Kart, but instead it's Smash Kart? I mean, we've got Link and Villager, but what if the Cap'n and Samus were to join, soon? Or Pit? Or Kirby? Or Fox? I'd be down for Smash Kart, personally. Anyone else?

Kirby, Fox or Sonic would fit. Seeing Link is a bit weird in Mario Kart, and I think it would be the same situation with Samus or Captain Falcon. That's just me though.

I also wouldn't mind Bowser Jr or Birdo.

EDIT - I think we should have more color customization options for vehicles and parts.

Mario kart X Double Dash!!

Pack includes 2 cups, The Blue Shell cup and the Acorn Cup

Charecters would include:
Diddy kong
Bowser JR
Birdo
All being from Double Dash

Blue shell cup courses
Wii Toads factory
N64 Koopa Troopa Beach
DS Airship Fortress
GCN Rainbow Road

Acorn Cup Courses
New Mario galaxy themed course
Course based on earthbound
New Donkey Kong factory course
New course based on the downtown area of toad harbor.

With the DLC pack an Update would come that includes Double Dash mode, Allowing you to pick 2 characters for one cart and race around with double the racers and double the items.

PK Hype!

Well I think they should stop with track DLC, because they need to work on Mario Kart 9 eventually too. I think for now they should just stick with character DLC. I think we should get Diddy Kong, Pac-Man, Boo, and Kirby.

Dezzy

Xenoblade Chronicles track (just imagine racing down the Bionis' leg)
Mario Galaxy track.
Mario 3D World track.
Splatoon track.
Another Zelda track (maybe around the OoT Hyrule field, weaving in and out of various locations like the Ranch and Kakariko).

This. Though there are 1 or 2 little things that I would like to see return: Why can't I see my lap-time. And why are the cpu results pre-programmed? I seriously just smacked baby Peach with a shell in the face at the end near the finishline, seeing several cpu's beating her to the finish. Still, she made 2nd in the list I do miss these little things, makes the races feel more organic.

I would love to see tracks from other nintendo universes.

A bicycle road track from pokemon for example.

Honestly, the battle mode as is works. When they fixed it so you could put the map on the main screen, that fixed the only problem I had with it. Dedicated battle travks wouldn't go amiss, but for a mode many of us haven't played since MK64, I can understand why they wouldn't put as much time and money into it.

A nifty calendar (Updated 9/13/15)
The UGXloggery ... really needs an update.

The local multiplayer of Mario Kart 8 is not so great. With two players you can have a lot of fun while playing online. But Mario Kart Double Dash you could have the best multiplayer time with four players in the room. You could also play with 16 people in one room. A feature Mario Kart 8 don't have.

So I would really love to see real battle arenas or other things to play with friends.

Classic battle mode. Classic cups where you can earn the cups from previous versions.

Yes!

I'd definitely like to see more courses with obstacles rolling, walking and flying about.

Possibly ruled out by the game mechanics, BUT: I'd like to see something like Ribbon Road but where you can drive around on the floor if you come off the main track. I'm thinking of those moments where you go shooting off a corner and see tantalising acres of wooden floor below you just before the Likitu grabs you and puts you back on track. Be nice if you could make your own way back via a ramp or something. Yes, that, with spiders, chewing gum and dried bogeys.
