That'd be perfect. The games seem like they were made for the 3DS, but they couldn't invent one in the 90's, so what resulted was a ghetto 3DS (aka Virtual Boy).
Ghetto 3DS is to 3DS as ghetto blaster is to mp3 player, or what do you mean by calling the Virtual Boy a ghetto 3DS? I wouldn't think to call anything Nintendo makes "ghetto."
They probably will... they will show N64 and GBA games on Wii U , then they will announce GameCube games for the 3DS Virtual Console while they reiterate GBA isn't coming to 3DS and GCN isn't coming to Wii U because that's how Nintendo logic works apparently xD

No a ghetto Mp3 player would be one of those portable CD players that played MP3s and a stack of CDs with Mp3s burnt on them. Or a ghetto 64" 4K LCD TV would be four 32" 1080p TVs in the same room. The Virtual Boy uses a ghetto version of 3D in the same way. The language is fine.
If you wanted to be critical you could have said that anachronistic is a better word... but ghetto is fine
