People who make racing games leave, start new project, name it team zero......... I think we have enough here to begin speculating .

But, it even says in that link that they said their next game isn't a racing game and F-Zero is a racing game. They also made black, huh? I'd actually be more excited for an exclusive FPS for Wii U than an F-Zero game, but F-Zero would be cool, too.

No, Criterion's next game is not going to be a racing game. The new studio's might be. Nintendo would be awesome if it struck that deal.

That's some great speculation. What are hopes for if not to be dashed to pieces?
But still, no matter what the game is, I will be very much looking forward to it.

Nobody has mentioned that "Team Zero" is the code name for Criterion's next project, not anything this new studio might work on.

Not true. That's under Ward and Sperry's LinkedIn pages - the guys that formed the new studio. It has to be F Zero

Except that it was on their Linked In pages referring to work at Criterion.

No need for baseless speculation. They aren't making another F-Zero. No One Is.

That article clearly states that Criterion's next project is called "Team Zero" according to Sperry's LinkedIn page.

The only reference to a supposed new studio is a mention on Twitter.

Couldn't Criterion's next game "Team Zero" be a new F-Zero game?

Why does being an EA owned studio make it impossible?

That would be something. Something else, even.

Problem is this thing called EA. Although they have been eager to work with Nintendo IP in the past... Criterion probably has one of the more capable Wii U teams among western third parties... And they mysteriously lost much of their workforce, who joined Ghost Games to work on NFS: Rivals for Xbox and PlayStation hardware...

Could Nintendo strike a deal with EA to ensure some support from one of their top development teams (until an exodus ensues...) and partner with a disgruntled publisher on one of their ignored franchises? Nintendo did say they wanted to start new partnerships with outside talent to fully utilize and expand their IP portfolio... This would be an intriguing means to that end. (And Nintendo needs to guarantee support somehow.)

Yeah, then you have the fact that this new "Team Zero" project is supposedly not a racing game. A clever cover-up? Third-person action take on the F-Zero universe? GTA clone?

"The incredibly creative and talented team at Criterion are hard at work on a new project for next-gen consoles as new IP continues to be a major priority across EA."

Hmm, if I've learned anything about third party developers, it's that "next-gen" always means "non-nintendo." So, I take back what I said. I was just trying to play devil's advocate.

I don't actually believe this is an F-Zero game, but it was fun speculation anyways
