A lot of us were annoyed about the absence of multiplayer in Arkham Origins. Personally, the only way I'd consider buying the game this year is if the price were lowered to match the lowered amount of content, and it looks like that might just be the case. I was just scanning my Amazon wishlist for price drops or sales, and I noticed Arkham Origins had dropped to $50 to pre-order for the Wii U. It's still listed as $60 for the PS3 and 360 versions. Though it's not a confirmation, this at least points in the right direction. So what do you guys think, is it a mistake on Amazon's part, or will the Wii U version really be only $50? And is that enough of a discount to forgive what's missing?
If the official (and highest) price for the game on Wii U is 50 compared to 60 on other platforms that's good. If the game without online actually costs the same as other versions that's a rip-off.
But frankly, The Wonderful 101 is 40 € on Amazon so I don't see myself being tempted.
I just looked again, and you also get $10 of Amazon credit when the game ships if you pre-order. All in all, that's $40 for Arkham Origins on the Wii U!
Now that is sweet!! I'm still waiting for an official announcement from Warner Bros Interactive stating that the Wii U version of the game is purposefully cheaper.
I knew I should have checked there too. At the moment, Gamestop, Best Buy, and Target all have it at $60, but if both Walmart and Amazon have it at $50, that does lend credence to the Wii U version being cheaper.

That discount on Amazon plus the bonus $10 credit just swayed me into preordering it. It would have been nice to have had the multiplayer, but I understand their line of logic in not including it. Besides the single player story was always the primary draw for me anyway.
If this is true, that pretty much gets rid of any complaints people could have for the game on the Wii U. The lack of online is remedied by the cheaper price.
Best thread ever
Feel free to add me on Miiverse or PSN.
Miiverse is Moomoo14, PSN is Moomoo1405390

Some place's sell games below the RRP, like amazon, asda direct etc. places like Game, Gamestop, always sell the game at the RRP, thats why i never use them.
So glad i randomly decided to check the Forums. Just pre-ordered this off Amazon. Basically getting it for $40, when I was already prepared to pay $60 for it just made my day. $20 off well makes up for the lack of the online feature (that i NEVER even considered important for me to enjoy the game), the only game I play online is Smash Bros. lol
$40-$50 is still too much for a gimped version. It's highest price should be $20-$30.
So the online mode accounts for 50% of the game? I'm going to disagree with this. If the single player mode is enough to make a full game like the previous entries, then that warrants the $50 price tag (which is still a good deal anyway).

im with knux, the online is not the center of the geme, is just a plus.
20-10 is a good discount

I wouldn't be praising them for lowering the price, but it's better than nothing I guess.

Its more admirable then other games companies by a mile.

So, has anyone who preordered this from Amazon actually gotten their $10 credit yet?
You would have gotten and email the day it shipped, and when you go to buy something from Amazon again there will be a $10 credit, I know that sometimes they send a code, but these $10 preorder bonuses are just account credits you can apply to your next purchase.
