Microsoft and Sony killed this issue, why does Nintendo slack behind? Bought Super Metroid and Sonic 3 a while ago and got disapointed. Slow framerate and it's killing me. Sonic 2 on my 360 runs smooth 29.97 fps.(Too bad I can't get Super Metroid on the 360)
When will Nintendo deal with the PAL issue? Europeans needs sum luv too!

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
I don't really notice any frame rate issues. While an American may notice the difference if they've played both regions versions, this is what I've been used to all my life.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

This. I'm used to 50Hz letterbox Sonic, so it's no big deal to me. Not that I'd complain about an upgrade, but it's no big deal.

Actually something I've never thought about: Are the Master System Sonics faster in NTSC? Because I thought those were pretty speedy anyway, I love those games
most europeans who original played the sonic games would have never really know the difference anyway. unless they went to the U.S and played it there aswell. it`s only as the the the internet grew, and gamers across the globe started talking. the differences in 50hz to 60hz speeds started to really get known about. i don`t really understand nintendo`s stand on not putting up all of the european VC games at the 60hz standard. they did it for thier own games, but for none of the other consoles on there.
there`s a couple of reasons why pal tv`s have a slightly higher resolution compared to ntsc tv`s, so the pal versions of games got that horrible letter box affect. also pal tv`s run at about 25fps, where as ntsc tv`s run at 30fps, this is because of the speed in which electricity runs at. pal areas tend to be 50hz, where as ntsc areas run at 60hz. all of which affects the games speed on earlier consoles. where as the gamecube and wii gen`s, as far as i`m aware, shouldn`t have these problems due to better hardware being available.
Its just got another signature! I mean It doesn't bother me too much as I've been used to it all my life but I just can't see the reason for it, at all!! The games are already there in 60Hz so why can't we have em'? Makes no sense to me and all this "gamers wanna play it in its original state" bullsh*t just doesn't wash. Gamers want the best version possible ,surely? It would be like still releasing films on VHS so you can relive those glory days of "tracking" your VHS player or havin the tape chewed up. Crazy. I already buy games that are available on VC off XBox live if I can as those versions are usually far superior and often get added extras. It sounds like a lot more retro games are gonna become available on XBLive so I'll only be buying Nintendo games on the VC probably.
I've pretty much bagged the PAL VC and have in some cases re-purchased stuff on my Japanese Wii. The only VC games I can see getting in future on the PAL Wii are text-heavy games or games where text is kind of key to play like RPG or strategy games.
Very very annoying that this has been allowed to happen, especially when we still get the odd PAL-only release (Gottlieb Pinball Classics, Samurai Warriors 3) which have proper conversions!
I dont touch it and no one here should pay for this 50hz rubbish or well done you will be responsible for them thinking its ok.
I would pay money for 60hz versions but not for 50hz. Thats just throwing money away as the games arent being played as intended and look sh*t on modern set ups..
Thank the lord for the TG16 running at 60hz. Hardcore machine that nintendo couldnt screw up.
The only other option is to go without. Which I'm just not going to do.
Oh sure, they aren't being played as they are intended, they are overpriced and they do look bad on modern set-ups. But then it is England we're living in (except the Europeans and Australians). We're used to being treated this way by everyone. We don't like it but we do put up with it albeit with a few moans along the way. Its part of what being English is all about.
Getting an American Wii is just not an option for many people. The hassle of setting it up and importing every time plus downloading games... the majority of people are happy enough with the convenience despite it being inferior.
If anyone really doesn't like it, America is thatta way.
