@theepictorkoal Yep, there's quite a few RPGs. Final Fantasy 1, 2 and 3 (well technically 1, 4 and 6), Ys Book 1&2, Ogre Battle, Phantasy Star 2-4, to name a few.

@Dogorilla Yes, I saw those as I was browsing through their list of games.

From my research so far for the NA Wii Shop, Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest are the only two games that appear to be exclusive to the Wii Shop that I have interest in from those series you've mentioned. Do you think they are worth purchasing?

@theepictorkoal Haven't played them myself so I can't really comment. From what I gather Ogre Battle is excellent though, and Mystic Quest is pretty good but a lot easier than a typical FF game.

@Dogorilla I see, well thanks for trying to help out regardless. Do you have any other recommendations for unique VC titles on the Wii Shop Channel?

This are the last days to buy Wii shop games. If you have the points. I left some points to buy the last games.

@DarkEdi Please try not to post on threads that have been inactive for more than 6 months. I’m sure you have good intentions, but this is not ideal.

Have I missed the deadline?!

phew I've got 5000 wii points to spend!

I noticed someone in the comments bought Mario Party 2 but kept it on Wii instead of Wii U because you can play it with Gamecube controllers. I wished I had known that before I dumped all my wii points on Wii U....

500 points on Wii, what should I buy? Or just do the Wii to Wii U transfer so I have 5500 points on Wii U instead?

Wooohooo, I still had 2100 Wii Points. Now is the last time to use them and see Mario running across the Wii Shop Channel throwing fireballs.

I got Dungeon Explorer for the Turbografx (600 Wii Points), a 5-player Gauntlet-type of topdown action-adventure that I played some rounds at a friends house and liked all those years ago. Never happened to pick it up though. Now I got it!

I also got Ufouria: The Saga (500 Wii Points), and Faxanadu (500 Wii Points), both for the NES. I only heard good things about them, and I like metroidvanias, and Zelda II/Battle of Olympus-style action-adventures. They also seem to be pretty rare.

Finally I got the arcade version of Solomon's Key (500 Points). I already have the NES version, but you can never have enough Solomon's Key, especially when it's the arcade for a fiver.

I was looking at WiiWare, but other than Final Fantasy IV: The After Years I already have everything that is good. However, there are better versions of it on other systems now, also it's like 3700 points for all the content so that one was a bit too expensive.

If you have less than 500 Wii Points left you cannot buy games, but you can spend them on DLC: All the Final Fantasy games have DLC, Mega Man 10 & 11 have DLC, Phoenix Wright's big extra chapter is only 100 Wii Points as well.

Back in the Wii days I bought all DLC for a game, to have it complete. I have all the puzzle packs for LONPOS (expensive stuff, and taken off the Wii Shop years ago), I have all the My Life as a King and My Life as a Darklord DLC (and that was kinda worth it, even though pretty expensive), man, I even 40+ bucks on DLC to have the two clunky Tales of Bearsworth Manor games complete. My biggest gripe though is the My Zoo and My Aquarium 2 DLC, I shouldn't have bothered with these "games" in the first place.

Other games with DLC I have: TNT Racers - you're much better off getting the enhanced Wii U version, that has all the DLC included + more, for less money.
Arkanoid Plus! & Bubble Bobble Plus! & Puzzle Bobble Plus! - just 100 or 200 a pop, worth it for the amount of extra levels you get.
Space Invaders Get Even - those packs use up plenty of your internal Wii memory, so only worth it if you have lots of free memory, but they're essential as they unlock the other missions.

I just spent the last of my points on Ninja Spirit, Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa, and Legend of the Mystical Ninja. All three are games I knew nothing about until doing some research for my final points, and they all seemed pretty fun when i tried them out last night. Looking forward to my full playthroughs.

I'm weirdly sad about this service being shut down. It introduced me to a lot of gaming history I missed out on back in the day. But hey, it will be a while before I get through the backlog.

I've decided not to do the Wii - Wii U transfer after all. I've been doing fine without it so I don't see the point in clogging up the Wii U's memory.

I have 8000 points on Wii U and 500 on the Wii. So far my buy list for the Wii U is:

Pokemon Puzzle League (N64)
FFCC: My Life as a King (WW)
Warioware DIY Showcase (WW)
Castlevania Rebirth (WW)

@Sciqueen

The Wii mode in the Wii U has its own memory just like your original Wii. That memory is separate so it can not take away memory from the Wii U. (You can also put a normal SD Card in the front of the Wii U to have additional Wii storage.)

Also, great choices!

@Judaspete

Neat selection. I also got them on Wii VC and have beaten them all.
