@the_shpydar Judging by the link, I think you hotlinked to a site that replaces the links with obnoxiously huge ads.

Is it me or is the Gamecube controller the perfect evaluation of a Nintendo controller? It started out the NES, then that gave way to the SNES controller, then the N64 and finally the Gamecube was just perfect. After the the Nintendo controllers weren't as good.

I think the GCN is the perfect Nintendo controller......for Gamecube games. Terrible for playing NES games on Gamecube (ala Mega Man Anniversary Collection, NES games within Animal Crossing, Zelda Collector's Edition disc).

@bezerker99 Well yeah, lol it was designed for GC games in mind not NES ones, if I want that I will just play those games on my NES (or RetroHub's AVS). To be fair though when it came to the Mega Man Anniversary Collection the only reason it was bad was cause some genius decided to switch the A and B buttons.

Also, the Gamecube controller isnt what I like playing Gameboy games with. Again, it's great for GCN games but they should have released a classic controller of some sort for Gameboy Player games.

@ogo79 there is no controller in the universe that could possibly make the abysmal Other M remotely enjoyable.

Tasuki

@ogo79 I also heard that the Xbox version of Mega Man Anniversary Collection you can map the buttons in the options mode, why they couldn't do that with the GC.

probably because its the same engineers who made the n64.

As I think was mentioned recently, Hori DID make a controller specifically for the Game Boy Player but it was only released in Japan and is now crazy expensive. (almost as bad as those component cables, as I recall)

Keep the Cube because it looks damn cool.

I have an orange Game Boy Player (which I assume was originally a Japanese release) with a black GameCube I picked up to use with it. So my Cube is the Halloween GameCube.

My Wii does not play GC games so I need to have both systems. I wish it were otherwise because GC games do not look so hot on an HD TV. I assume the component output of the Wii would have addressed that. Also, I am not paying the ridiculous cost of GC component cables. I am shocked that no one has created a cheap alternative to the official cables yet.

I've read that someone is close to make cheap(er?) clones.
It has to do with some converter Nintendo built in the cable itself, which is why PS2/Xbox knockoff cables (as I have one such cord) were easily available in its original lifetime but not GC.

lol this!

in all seriousness, I would hang on to it; just shrink wrap it and stash it for a while
