Topic: Which is better overall - NES or Game Boy?

I think many people will choose NES but I'd like to think the Game Boy is better, mainly because it was replaced years after the NES. You may NES has Super Mario Bros. 3 and that is a great game.

I think the Game Boy may have an edge due to the likes of Wario Land. Also, Link's Awakening is better than NES Zelda IMO. And despite being on a tiny screen with only four colors, later Game Boy games tend to be more detailed than their NES counterparts.

But yes, both systems have their fair share of bad games too.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

I liked the original Zelda more than Zelda's awakening. While the Gameboy had some great games, the NES had many industry defining games.

I like the GB more but I think this nails it.

Do you like Black & White visuals, with inferior sound, much crappier NES ports & sequels all displayed on a tiny screen?

I like GB Zelda over both NES Zeldas.

I like the Super Mario Land trilogy over the Super Mario Bros. trilogy.

I like Game Boy Donkey Kong '94 over NES Donkey Kong.

I like Game Boy Pokémon over any NES RPG.

I like Game Boy Street Fighter II over any NES one-on-one fighter.

And once you upgraded to a Game Boy Pocket, the blurry green screen issue disappears.

NES, hands down.

50hz PAL NES or Gameboy I would go for Gameboy.

Famicom or US NES - Famicom (Japanese Castlevania III / Crisis Force are the best games).

Does the NES have Wario Land, Super Mario Land 2, and Link's Awakening? I didn't think so.

Consider this blasphemous but I have very little experience with either. If I had to choose at the moment, I would say Game Boy. There is just something about the Game Boy that is very appealing.

Don't misunderstand. I cherish my Gameboy games and they are lots of fun! However, the only Gameboy game I find greater than it's NES counterpart or successor is Tetris. Nothing will ever beat Gameboy Tetris~

Donkey Kong '94 is a great game. However, I find it uncomparable to the oldschool DK arcade/NES game because I consider it more in line with the "Mario VS. Donkey Kong" franchise.

Tetris, Link's Awakening and Pokémon vs Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Megaman 2? Even though I never owned a NES, I can't choose between these two, both were amazing consoles with amazing games.

Check out my super awesome Super Mario Maker levels.

I don't find any Arcade -> NES port acceptable. (Good 20 years ago is not good enough now).
