Topic: What’s your favorite retro game?

Retro games are a huge part of the gaming community and there are lots of us who collect lots and lots of them.

With E3 coming up I for one don’t have anytime to play through my backlog of retro games but once it is over I’ll be able to get lots of them out of the way.

So what retro games in your backlog are you looking forward to playing after E3.

I don't really have a plan set in stone to play a particular retro game after E3, but I do have quite a lot of favorite retro games. I'll list a few of them in no order, ones that stand out to me:

Super Mario World
Super Mario All-Stars
Donkey Kong Country 2
Yoshi's Island
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Sonic 3 & Knuckles

Probably Final Fantasy VI, although I feel like 2000's games are on the verge of being considered retro as with 2000's media in general

Haven't planned to really play any retro games after E3, I did play some Sonic Battle on GBA last night. For what it's worth, I recently played through the PC classic Bioforge.

My favorite retro games would have to be Super Mario All-Stars, Star Fox, Kirby Super Star, Sonic 2, Sonic 3D Blast. Maybe I'll consider playing Sonic Mega Collection, do enjoy casually playing Sonic 3D Blast.

None of these are in my backlog, I do like playing them.

@MarioLover92 I forgot Sonic 3 & Knuckles, it's also one of my favourite classic games ever. I'm super excited about Sonic Origins.

Hard question....
The Mother/Earthbound saga, my favorite RPG's, specially Eartbound and Mother 3
Banjo Kazooie/Tooie (imo the best platformers ever created),
Mario 64
Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards
Majora's Mask (enjoyed more than Ocarina)

I grew up with most of this games, and, after all this years I still love them, and play them!

My signature is so special and unique I don't want to share it with the internet

@BlueOcean Yeah absolutely, the Genesis Sonic games practically got better as they came out lol. (In terms of the main series, that is.) I'm pumped for Sonic Origins as well, would love to have it on Switch alongside Sonic Mania.

@Sunsy I loved Sonic Mega Collection on the GameCube and I still do. That's how I got to play more of the Genesis Sonic games (I did play Sonic 1 and 2 before Sega started making games for the GameCube), plus I dig the presentation and bonus features.

There are a ton of SNES games I could list, but tonight I'm gonna go with Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain for the PS1. It's a top-down, Legend of Zelda-like game about the newly christened vampire Kain. It's got vampire shenanigans, a grimdark plot, and chunky FMVs. Played it when I was a kid (before I ever played a LoZ game, come to think of it) and it's always stuck with me. The Soul Reaver games continued the series and are more popular....but given the choice I like the first game best.

Give me a heads-up if you're going to send a request please.

@NeonPizza You do realize that it was just called TMNT in the arcades. TMNT II in arcades is technically Turtles in Time.
