The Mini systems i would like to see
Nintendo
Gameboy Classic
Gameboy Colour Classic
Gameboy Advance Classic
Nintendo 64 Classic
GameCube Nintendo Classic

Sega
Sega MasterSystem Classic
Sega GameGear Classic
Sega Saturn Classic
Sega Dreamcast Classic

NEC Hudson
PC Engine/TurboGrafx 16 Classic with CD games

3DO/Panasonic
3DO Classic

Atari
Atari Lynx Classic
Atari Jaguar Classic

Microsoft
Original Xbox Classic

Sony
PS2 Classic

Arcade
Capcom CPS2 Classic

Sure some of these aren't possible now but i'm sure in another 5 years to a decade these things will be easy to emulate and sell for an affordable cost.

No more minis, just release the games on current gen machines imo. Personally don't have an interest in having more boxes connected to the TV but would love to revisit a game here and there from previous generations.

@redd214 Actually i would like to see a Sega 32X and Sega CD compilation or even better SEGA CDX or a Nomad Mini.

@iVirtual Agreed with almost all of these, and provided that the quality of them is at the very least on par with the currently available Nintendo Classic systems, and not one of these throwaway systems like the old AtGames consoles. Their latest Megadrive/Genesis HD offering is really the only one that finally looks like a reasonably decent product.

What I don't agree with, and what I personally also wouldn't want, is Classic versions of handhelds. Besides still owning all of them, and having no need for them, I personally think that what most people visualize when thinking of these re-made handhelds, has literally NOTHING to do with the Classic range of mini consoles.

All of the Classic consoles are around 1/4 in size compared to the original console, hence obviously also the name "Classic Minis". Now, if you would do that to a handheld, the result would be horrible, and even smaller than a Game Boy Micro, so that's simply not an option. But what people ACTUALLY want, is not Classic Mini versions of these handhelds, but just an exact copy of the original, except filled with a ready to play catalog of games, and perhaps with some minor improvements, such as a better screen and so on.

That just doesn't make sense to me, in regards to them being a genuine part of the Classic Mini line of consoles. I'd rather see them just sticking with miniaturizing home consoles, and bringing out an N64 Mini next, although that now seems a little less likely, or at least not in the foreseeable future.

But I'm pretty sure that the rather ambiguous statements coming from Nintendo regarding this topic could easily be interpreted as "we'll announce the N64 Classic Mini when WE are good and ready, not when people will want us to", or something along those lines...

@ThanosReXXX Well the Gameboy, GameGear, Lynx are not small so a mini version of those makes sense as for the GBC and GBA Classic they are already compact and i can only see them being slimmer.

@iVirtual Exactly, and that is also the reason why it would make no sense, in my opinion. None of these handhelds could ever be made a quarter of their original size and still be made playable. A RetroPie mod could probably be made, or more than likely already is, but far as I'm concerned, that's often times more of a statement towards proving how good people are at squeezing little computers into the smallest box possible and still make them work, not so much about making them work in an aesthetically and/or ergonomically pleasing way...

But hey, that's just my opinion, and we agree for the most part on wanting to see all these home consoles miniaturized, so it's not all bad...

@ThanosReXXX I still see a reason for it to exist. People pay a lot for Gameboy Zeros and Backlit modded Gameboys but to have something like Classic system would make sense. Nice screen, multiple games in a sleeker package. So GBA and GBC as a Classic System yes as a Mini no.

The PS1 mini is stupid expensive in Mexico. Almost the same amount I paid for my Xbox one.

I hear it's not leaving good impressions, what's that about?

Totally agree. Especially now with the Switch - I rather have all my retro games portable and in the same place than have a number of new systems under my TV.

At least 2'8".

@Tsurii The PS1 Mini is a rushed product. Check out Digital Foundry's video. Overall not good this thing will become cheap.

@Yosheel Yeah, you'd expect better from a company like Sony. I have no idea what kind of crappy emulator they've used. On my soft-modded Wii, I use the WiiSX PlayStation emulator, and not only does it run most games really well, it also looks a hell of a lot better than this half-hearted effort from Sony...

@iVirtual It's actually okay and allowed to discuss modding of last gen or older systems, as long as you don't add tutorials and or dozens of links/videos or game download sites to your comment, but discussing it is okay.

It's hacking/modding of current gen consoles, that's restricted. It's even mentioned in the community rules:

Unacceptable Content

a. Do not post unacceptable images or videos; Users are prohibited from posting pornographic, vulgar or any other distasteful, inappropriate and explicit images/videos. Users should also be responsible for the copyright of any image(s)/video(s) they post.

b. Do not link to illegal content; Linking to any illegal download sites, torrents or other resources that allow users to gain access to illegal content such as copyrighted ROMs, games, movies, music, TV shows, software or related activities is strictly prohibited.

c. Do not discuss current gen emulators/homebrew; It is permitted to constructively discuss the use of flash carts, emulators and homebrew software when in the context of previous generation(s) hardware. We ask that you do not link to any resources for illegal copyrighted content such as where to download ROMs and we reserve the right to lock, edit or delete any threads or comments we feel stray too far into an illegal or legal grey area.

This is the third thread in a row where the same OP says things and then doesn’t give merit to any other point of view.
I especially like that in one thread OP wants virtual console, and this thread calls for minis instead. 😂

On topic, minis are fine for folks that want them, but I want some more consoles on NSO before another mini rolls out.

@HobbitGamer I don't understand what you mean here. Why does it have to be one thing or the other? One person just wants Virtual Console, the other wants a Mini System. I want both.

@redd214 I agree with you. Rather have bundles of games on a system, like the switch. For instance, Sega classics release on the switch is a great example. Do that with all the other systems and I'm a happy camper.
