Now Nintendo better put Star Fox on the 3DS VC, but since it looks like they've already abandoned it, hopes are slim :/

The list looks great. I would have liked to see another Country game in there, but still.

So when is the more superior EU/Japan version coming out?

The selection of games in this one I really good. I mean, it could use some puzzle games, but it's overall a great selection.

I wonder where the controllers will go. Or are they ditching the wii remote port?

There better be down reassurances that Star Fox 2 will also be filming to VC (cough Switch)
Don't want to have to get this just to play 1 game (although there are many there I would replay if I had time)

Well, I do have two extension cables for the NES mini, so I'm covered in the case of short cords. I'm not seeing any wii ports on the system though.

Anyway, Kirby "golf" covers up the sports game niche the system lacks. And from what I hear it's actually great for multiplayer. Dreamland 3 on the other hand wasn't all that well received compared to Super Star.

Anyway here's the list of games, so we have it here in the thead:

Contra III: The Alien Wars
Donkey Kong Country
EarthBound
Final Fantasy III
F-ZERO
Kirby Super Star
Kirby's Dream Course
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Mega Man X
Secret of Mana
Star Fox
Star Fox 2
Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Castlevania IV
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Super Mario World
Super Metroid
Super Punch-Out!!
Yoshi's Island

They should had more games on the SNES Mini, to be honest.

Where's Mario All Stars, SMT 1, and FE3, 4, and 5?

I'm not what to post, but something should pop up here eventually.

Nice to see all the Super FX hogwash be silenced finally. All anyone did was have to check some basic facts about patents to see that any protection this chip has that may have been a deterrent to Nintendo at one time, expired long ago.

Wish they had upped the list to 25. Pilotwings, Donkey Kong Country 2-3, and Stunt Race FX are all 1st party classics I'd of liked to have seen included.

Well, All Stars+World would've been too much value for a single entry in the list.

It's also a game that they still sell as a Nintendo Select for the Wii/WiiU, I think (minus the world part).

Peek-a-boo

Pre-ordered two!

One on Amazon for myself, and the other on GAME for my friends 30th Birthday present in October, given that he was the first person I knew (at school) that had a SNES at the time. Playing Super Mario World round his house for the very first time is still one of my fondest memories of video games.

The only thing that has the potential to annoy me - just like it did with the NES Classic - is the length of the controller cord. It is absolutely ridiculous to be provided with a controller that has a cord that's about 2½ feet away from a television. The original (NES controller) cord is nearly eight foot long!

It is extra ridiculous because it's coming from a company that loves to flash those warning messages up on your television screen when you have been playing a game for 'too long'! They don't seem to mind if we sit a mere two feet away from our television though...

On another note altogether, today's news in regards to the SNES Classic means that the Virtual Console isn't likely to be available on the Switch until 2018 sometime, boo-hoo.
