@Grumblevolcano Hm, that's odd. I was under the impression that most backward compatible titles actually improve performance and/or graphics, when played on the Xbox One.
As for X018: of course I understand what type of event it could be/is, but I do hope they also have some surprises. I'm not going to be amazed and/or pleasantly surprised at all, if they only show Crackdown 3, something Halo, perhaps a bit of Fable and the rest of the stuff that was either already rumored or previously revealed. If that happens, I will be rather underwhelmed. Much like how Nintendo has been over-saturating our brains with Smash Bros news and footage. I've already seen more than enough at this year's E3, in three days of Smash Bros dedicated Treehouse sessions, and STILL we get two more Directs on it. Killed any kind of buzz
I could have felt for that game...
Similarly, if Microsoft would make a Crackdown 3 special of this event, I would also feel that it isn't really anything to write home about, and there's of course also the risk that we'd get to see a lot of stuff that we've already seen in the previous betas, and/or only minor updates in any final build they may now have. The only upside could be for the people actually present at the event, assuming that they've got a playable demo for Crackdown 3...
Anyway, guess we'll find out soon enough what they have in store for us. I'm still cautiously optimistic about something truly new, that we've never heard of before, including rumors, so something that will be a complete surprise. That alone would already go a long way towards me considering this event as "big"...
I'm guessing Gears 5 is the most likely showing. Although I don't really need to see any more of that. I'll just automatically buy those games no matter what. Unless it reviews really badly.
Crackdown hype is almost guaranteed, that's the big thing. Maybe more for SoT as well, more DLC for FH4. I hope @Grumblevolcano is right and Reach is announced.
@thanosrexxx I'm not sure what else could be that big big big other than studios, Fable, Crackdown, XCloud, etc, other than hardware which seems unlikely (if not reckless.) All that stuff would be pretty big. Fable would be ginormous, even if the rumors already leaked. Also, for Microsoft "big" likely doesn't mean all 1st party stuff. I imagine "big" is a lot of exclusive looks at multiplats you "see here first" etc. MS always dedicates a lot of focus and money on the 3rd party multiplats. DMC5, Just Cause 4, Anthem, that sort of thing, like at E3. After all they spend more advertising money on Tomb Raider than Horizon this year.
That would still be WAY better than Nintendo's E3 that featured half an hour of Smash, and 5 minutes of Reggie squeezing his Pokeball....
@NEStalgia AGAIN with the small letters? Why only with my avatar name? WHY???
And you just broke X018 for me. Now all I see when I close my eyes, is Reggie squeezing his "Pokeball"...
But again, and in all seriousness: and I need to stress, apparently, that it is just MY opinion, that I myself would be rather underwhelmed if it would only be Crackdown 3, and other confirmed, semi-confirmed and/or rumored games. I want to be surprised, amazed, wowed, and have a tiny chance of being blown away by some completely out of left field announcement.
THAT, and ONLY that, would constitute a "biggest Inside Xbox showing ever". It's not even just the word "biggest", it's also the added weight of the word "ever" that should at the very least mean something tangible and/or substantial.
Well, in my opinion at least...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@ThanosReXXX So... a revival of long dormant IP, plus some completely new IP, would do it for you? That's a big wish.
Then again, maybe this is the year they finally answer my wishes and give us a new Midtown Madness.

@DarkRula Well, now that you mention it, a dormant IP could be nice, but that's not what I meant, and not what I'm expecting either. Even dormant IP's are known, so when I say something completely new and surprising, even long dormant IP's don't qualify.
@NEStalgia Not to be a complete tight@ss or anything, but it does bother me a bit. I've seen several comments in which only my name is in lower case, such as the one where you also replied to FragRed.
Personally, I just either press the reply button multiple times to add the names of the people that I want to address, or I just hand-type them as they are. People chose these names for a reason, so I would assume that they would appreciate it, if I'd type them correctly, regardless of whether or not it's a bit more trouble for me to do so.
(and now I actually DO feel like a tight@ss, but I just can't escape the feeling, hope you get that)
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
To be honest sometimes it's just easier to write the name yourself instead of fumbling about with the reply buttons for multiple people (specially on mobile).
@tHANOSrExxx You're starting to enter @Ryu_Niiyama levels of OCD there......there's no cure, I'm afraid.
TECHNICALLY, blame the forum software. Most forums automatically map names to @ mentions. This one doesn't. Seriously, though, I'm about 50/50 with caps for usernames I'm typing from memory on a keyboard, but on a phone, I'm not dealing with alternating name caps....it's just too painful. Just getting the @ in there is too challenging. But at least I'm not giving you the rjejr Nintenod treatment
I also thought of a few other potential reveals: KH Story So Far is possible. It's weird to do KH3 without the prior games and the bundle of the old games is a new product. They could announce that there (and/or also Switch via Twitter after much like the FF series Switch Direct reveals that then also got applied to X1.) I already bought the $100 package on PS4 when it looked like that was the only way to get the old games for a bargain before they announced Story So Far separately, so it locked me into KH3 on PS4, either way, unfortunately. Though I don't mind. I may hate the DS controller, but KH and older FF are the only games that do still feel right on it for some reason. Maybe muscle memory.
Says the guy who spends more time listening to his hard drives instead of actually using them like any normal person would...
And the @ is challenging? What the hell kind of crap phone are you using then? On my smart phone, the @ sign is a standard key that's easily accessible on the second page of the keyboard.
Mentioning rjejr isn't helping your argument either, though: he may not be able to type Nintendo correctly, even if his life depended on it, but I've never seen him mangle a username...
@thanOSreXxX Hey, if the XBox wouldn't flash the HDD lights every 90 seconds I wouldn't need to listen to it.
"on the second page of the keyboard" See, there you go. Difficult already Actually it's a "press and hold the comma" (or some other key) affair on gboard. It's not that big a deal, but I still, anything on a phone is annoying.
"rjejr" That's because rjejr is too lazy to type a username, so he just hits reply on the emails and never tags anyone outside them Sometimes I'm envious....
@yosheel That would be funny if rage meant for mods ended up sent to random people. Actually sounds entertaining.
@Grumblevolcano The bar for conferences has been set low. As long as they don't announce that Crackdown 3 is now a mobile game, they win the month. But yeah, that's in line with expectations so far. Including the 3rd party nature of most of it
@Grumblevolcano Not expectations plural, just a single one: something new and surprising, so I'm not asking too much at all. If it's just going to be a 1,5 hour show about:
"Hey, remember that game which we already showed twice and delayed three times? Well, it's finally finished now"
or:
"Hey all, have you seen those rumored titles roaming around on the internet? Well, they're all true"
"And remember those games we kinda revealed, but haven't really revealed yet? Well, we're gonna reveal them now"
Then that is simply going to be a disappointing show for me. Whatever it might mean to someone else, is up to each and everyone's own opinion, but this is mine. Even Nintendo manages to sneak in a little surprise title here or there, in the average Nintendo Direct...
And they themselves have literally called it "the biggest Inside Xbox showing ever", so it wouldn't be too unreasonable for people to be allowed to expect something from that, if you ask me.
@Grumblevolcano Is the big PUBG news that it's coming to PS4 Joking aside, I'm quietly hopeful the Microsoft are teasing something big when they say more exclusive looks

That's what I said: a crap phone. I just checked, and what I said should be true for most decent smart phones, so just switching to page 2 of the keyboard, not some kind of weird button combo to get another key...
As for that hard drive stuff:
Got a new mystery for 'ya..
The external drive now/still behaves as I wanted it to, but every hour or so, it slowly lights up, the light remaining stationary for around 30 seconds, and then slowly dies again. So, no reading or writing action, just on for a bit, and then off again.
Sort of like the console is doing some kind of check/ping to see if the external drive is still connected. Not nearly as annoying as when I had the issue with the light remaining on at all times, but still kinda puzzling.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@ThAnOsReXxX They could surprise you and declare Crackdown 3 delayed until 2020! Actually, no, that wouldn't be very surprising at all....
YEESS!! You have my hard drive problem now!!! It's not just me!!! I AM NOT ALONE!! That's the exact issue I described having and the reason I have to put my ear to it to see if it's spinning up! Except mine is every 45-120 seconds, not every hour.
For the official, white 8TB 3.5" licensed Game Hub, putting my ear to it confirmed (mostly) that I don't believe it's spinning up the drive, but before I bought that because of that issue, my own 3rd party drives, every time that light came on, it would spin the drives up. 30+ spin-ups an hour would sure wear down a drive.
Though the weirder mystery: After the system update both xboxen had the issue. Then after a few days box #2 resolved itself. So currently, box 1 still does the light every 45-120 seconds on the HDD, but box 2 behaves normally and does not ever light up the drive or try to spin it up while in standby. So long as it's not spinning up the drive, it's not a problem, but it's still frustrating that I had to buy a whole other HDD to solve a console change, that doesn't seem to happen on all boxes.
And before Blue tells me I have only bad XBox luck, my PS4 Pro is still randomly beeping like it's trying to eject while playing games. That one I bought used though, so I can't rule out prior abuse.
