@Tasuki Not sure if it's your kind of FPS, but have you tried or though of Destiny 2? At least those servers are still quite active. And if you do happen to like Destiny 2, then you might also want to give Warframe a try. It has both quite the decent single player campaign, as well as good multiplayer, even though it does have some Battle Royale elements. I'd say, just check out some YouTube gameplay videos of these games, and see if it's something you might like.
As for Titanfall 2: @NEStalgia might be able to comment on that, if I remember correctly.

@ThanosReXXX Thanks. I won't touch Destiny 2 mainly cause of the MMO aspect in it. Not to go in great detail here but me and MMOs don't do well together and I was lucky enough to kick that habit when I stopped playing WoW years ago.
I am looking for more something like CoD or Battlefield where as I can jump on have a few matches of domination or conquest or whatever after a day's work and be good.

@DarthNocturnal ffxv is such a mess, but unlike viii it's a likable mess.
@ThanosReXXX i tend to notice in certain genres like shooters or platformers, but im more likely to notice how nice it is if its 60 than i am to notice it isnt. But with the forzas i didnt notice either way. Every thing is a blur anyway
@Tasuki funny, done people get addicted to mmo...i tend to get bored to tears and give up a few hours in . Even Xenoblade faux mmo aspects bore me silly.
Destiny 2, don't worry about the mmo aspect... The brainless shooting won't hold your interest long enough to care it's a worse halo with a lootbox expansion pack . If you don't have an x1 guess it's ok?
As for Titanfall 2 i haven't played it enough to comment. I haven't tried the online at all, so i can't say how dead it is, but it's been on a lot of sales this summer for cheap and is on EA Access so it's probably healthy enough. What i played of single player, I really liked it so far, though I'm not too far in. It's a different, Western cross of gundam meets battletech so I'm probably biased for the genre.
Beyond that, most of my shooter experience is story campaigns. My online shooting is mostly coop gears, halo, borderlands (technically an rpg not a shooter) and Splatoon 2 these days.
@Tasuki Aha, understood. I won't try to win you over or convince you to try it anyway, then, but to be fair to Destiny 2, though: there's quite the large single player campaign in it, and as far as the MMO part goes: yes, it is an always online game with a simply MASSIVE worldwide community, but I, for example, only play campaigns and quests with two of my friends, and I never notice anything of the MMO aspect, other than seeing other people roaming around the area, due to the name labels floating above their heads, but we don't interact with them in any way, nor is it necessary to enjoy the game. You can just go about your way, either alone or with a couple of friends.
But if you're looking more for a game with a few quick battles and so on, like you described, then perhaps you need to look a bit further than FPS and give any of the Gears of Wars games a go. They can be crazy fun with a couple of friends, and the matches are short and sweet enough to fulfill your needs. There's conquest, capture the flag, hold your own against growing waves of aliens, and so forth, so there's quite a bit of diversity as well.
But other titles that I didn't see you mention having, and which also have a good or decent multiplayer, are Battlefield V, Doom, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, Halo 4, Halo 5 - Guardians, Bioshock: The Collection, Bullet Storm: Full Clip Edition, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 5, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, Metro: Redux, CoD: Ghosts, CoD: Modern Warfare Remastered, CoD: Advanced Warfare, CoD: Black Ops 3, Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2, Tom Clancy's The Division, Rainbow Six Siege, Sniper Elite 3 & 4 and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
As you can see, that's actually quite the list to choose from, so I hope there's something interesting in there for you.
Other than that, you could look to older games. Don't know if you had an Xbox 360 or not, but a lot of great FPS titles of that console look and play great on the Xbox One, and quite a few of them still have an active online server and/or community going on.
@NEStalgia There is not some kind of overbearing loot box culture going on in Destiny 2. I haven't bought a single thing yet, and I'm doing just fine. Achieved everything I have gained so far, simply by grinding and doing quests and battles.

@NEStalgia Thanks for the reply. Yeah I don't mind the single player but I am looking for more MP at this time.
@ThanosReXXX Yeah most of those suggested I have played already or have on PS4 already except of course for Battlefield V, which I do have preordered on Xbox One. I totally spaced on the Gears series, can't believe I did that lol. Might have to check into those. Thanks for the info I really appreciate it.

Do not buy Destiny 2 as is! That is unless you have the understanding of how much it really costs. Base game can be found for around $10 or less. But to progress so you can really play with others you're looking at another $40 for the released expansions, then another $40 for the September one and another $35 next year. I'm not just a Destiny hater. Spent close to 600 hours in the first one. The sequel however is such a disappointment on so many fronts I honestly would advise against buying it at this point in time.
@NEStalgia The X upgrade for Master Chief Collection should be out soon. They are taking their sweet time, I wonder what are they doing or if it's just because they are working on Infinite at the same time.
I liked the Forza Motorsport 7 demo too and I'm quite excited about Forza Horizon 4 now. I always notice the 30 fps/60 fps difference but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy 30 fps like Forza Horizon 3. It's just that I'm quite sensitive in that regard and obviously prefer 60 fps.
I would never describe Forza Horizon 3 as a blur LOL. It's crisp on both Xbox One S and X.
@Tasuki No problem, anytime. That's what this thread is here for, in my opinion. Not just to talk about Xbox games, but also to share experiences and, where possible, recommend titles or help people out.

@BlueOcean I kinda feel like I owe you an apology...
A while back, we had this pretty hefty discussion, and it more or less made me think that you were just another one of these "I can't play this game unless it's 60fps" drones, which I personally cannot and will NEVER understand. In general, I don't hate on things, but I so much want to make an exception for such short-sighted individuals...
Anyways, I've noticed several of your posts over the last weeks, and that made me realize that you're actually NOT one of those idiots, so I guess it was only fair to own up to that mistake of mine.
@BlueOcean cool, i was thinking of making it my late fall series to revisit halo, and didn't even know it's going to get better on X! I'll certainly hold off until it does (already own the game and odst dlc)
I do imagine it's a side job for them when there's time since it cant be much of a money maker as much as it's fan loyalty rewards.
Oh Forza 7 is crisp. .. When you're not moving at 130mph.... Once things get going its hard to see details....
@BlueOcean Setting a release date is what broke the game in the first place. This time they've prioritized the game working properly over the patch being released by a certain date.
@NEStalgia It's still on the official list, that's a good sign. Besides, now that I think about it, the collection includes five games, it must not be that quick to upgrade.
I love these commands that they've added into Horizon 4. During this Team Adventure showcase they've been flying around in various forms, and I think my favourite has to be:
"Check out my car"
"I'd buy that for a dollar"
Also, spring looks amazing, and the view they showed from one of the danger zones proved it. Also, they're giving a look at Edinburgh, so if you want to see it, get on mixer/forzamotorsport

The remaining last gen Splinter Cell games (Double Agent and Blacklist) are now on backwards compatibility. Hopefully the OG Xbox games come soon (Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory).
