@Grumblevolcano You have to have opened up three festivals, for the Hot Wheels expansion to unlock. Don't know about Blizzard Mountain, but I expect the same rules to apply.

Hello everyone! I decided to join the home console people and I bought Xbox 360 E! I know it is late but it is a new path to collecting games!
For now I own:
Fable Anniversary
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
On Friday I am expecting The Orange Box (oh yeah what a treat!) and Dark Messiah of Might and Magic Elements.
@Dezzy Well I am more aiming towards XBox One X but given the current status of the PS4 ... it is hard. The PS4 just have and will have amazing games that beat the Xbox in exclusives. On the other hand One X gives better graphics and better frame rate on ... well everything compared to the PS4 Pro.
I aim to get the last and current gen consoles separately. Also I do not like backwards compatibility via internet download/emulation.
That is why I hunted down a PS3 60GB Fat model to play PS2 games. It plays them like native PS2 console.
@Zuljaras But the backwards compatibility on the Xbox One, and especially on the X, actually makes the games BETTER than on the original hardware. How can you not like that?

@Zuljaras Well, regardless of what any of us think, it's obviously always your own choice. I would also go for better performance, but if this works out better for you, then that's perfectly fine. Welcome to team Green!
And be sure to invest in an Xbox Live Gold subscription to get those free games. Here are some good discount sites to start with:
You get 2 Xbox One games and 2 Xbox 360 games for free each month. Now, you might think that it isn't very useful to start collecting Xbox One games, but that's exactly what I did as well, even though back then, I didn't have an Xbox One yet. You might never know what will happen in the near future, and what's better than already having a bunch of games ready to play if you buy a new console?
And you can share the same profile between two consoles as well, so that makes it even easier to either share or transfer games from one to the other. Provided of course that they're compatible with both systems, obviously...
Anyone know how often ms tends to have the same games on sale as Sony? And or if Dishonored and Dishonored 2 is much better on 1x than pro?
I've been hoping to find it on sale for some time.... Never played the series and was both interested and kind of wary when i saw 2 at e3 16. The pseudo zombies put me off and i hope they aren't prominent. Psn has trilogy for $32 this week (on a huge killer sale) but I'm not sure if id rather wait to see if it price matches on an xb sale soon. (Really lame sale week on xbox with few deals with gold games and the quasi big anime sale.). It's a series is much rather use an xb controller for, but a $48 difference tells me to make do
@NEStalgia By default, I would always say "better on X", seeing as it should at the very least run better/smoother, because of the superior hardware. And most of the later multi-platform games get the true 4K texture treatment on X, so that's another potential benefit.
If there is a new console it will be the same just re-shelled and renamed. The Xbox One X is more than enough for now.
I think that there will be NO next gen games. They peaked with real actors motion capture games. Even if a new console arrive that is 10 times more powerful than the One X the devs will do the same games.
If any of you guys have player Fable Anniversary on the Xbox 360. Is the frame rate supposed to be unstable at times? I wonder because some people claim that the frame rate is perfect others that it is choppy.
I wonder if the problem is in the game or the console. I have the game installed on the HDD.
@Zuljaras New consoles will be just about doing what PC is doing now. Which is to say the same thing the 1X does now, but with somewhat better GPUs and significantly better CPUs. The big difference will really be in the CPU because right now a lot of games are capped at 30fps not because the 1X GPU can't take it, but because the CPU can't keep up with it for AI, physic, and world object calcluations. Otherwise there really wouldn't need to be another.
It's possible though that the next XBox is just a 1X with an even beefier GPU and proper CPU and basically plays the same games but at high frame rates instead of 30fps on X. Other than visual fidelity, PC isn't doing that much more than console right now that isn't just a CPU limitation on console.
@ThanosReXXX Dishonored 2 is one of those games from that odd period of time before 1X was released, so it's not always certain. It has an X1X specific enhancement patch, but a lot of games from that time period just ported the PS4 Pro patch making it basically identical between the two. Then there's DX: Mankind Divided and ME: Andromeda for which they made a Pro patch before 1X launched, but never made a 1X port of it, so the games actually look and play better on Pro than on 1X. DX:MD is the worst offender due to age: The game was designed for OG4 and OGBone, so it assumes the PS4 is more powerful from the start. Thus PS4 renders 1080p, XB renders 900p. But then they made a Pro patch, so on Pro it renders at 1440p or so, but there's no 1X patch, so on 1X it still renders at.....900p...... It looks like a dog on the X and is beautiful on the Pro. Andromeda gets off better. It has the same exact resolution difference. However, since Andromeda kind of looks awful on every platform, you don't really see the difference so much I have it on both consoles and can't decide if I want to play it slightly sharper with less texture pop-in on the Pro or with a proper controller on the X. Deus Ex HAS to be Pro though. Bad controller or not.
Dishonored 2 had a Pro patch long before a 1X patch.
Sadly it's hard to find a comparison with meaning. That DF video is for the Dishonored 1 remaster and only covers OG XBone and OG PS4. Most Dishonored 2 comparisons seem to compare OG as well, and a few compare Pro to base PS4, or to base XBone but very little for X and S. I found one video for X but it didn't really show it well. It could mean there's little real difference.
Hard call. Cheap on PSN, full price on X, or wait and hope X has it on sale some day (or if the game is kind of iffy/too horror-ish for my liking, just skip it and not give into curiosity )
Edit: Heck I'm still deciding whether to rebuy Nier on X since I bought it on sale on PS4 before I knew it was coming to X.... darn Sony and their insider knowledge and backroom deals always knowing when something is set to release on another platform, and putting it on sale in advance
Also, I FINALLY opened Festival #2.....getting closer! (Still spinning out like crazy, and losing control.....awful when you go into oversteering and just can't get centered again before spinning out), but I'm finishing 5th or so...)
@bootyhunter OG X1 or X1S? If the comparison is from an OG XBone OMG, yes, definitely, absolutely, it's basically a new console that makes everything better. OG XB1 has quietly been erased from memory like the WiiU.
If you're comparing from X1S there's still a considerable list of improvements, but it's a bit more down to what matters most to you.
While I had neither OG X1 nor 1S before X, I've had both OG PS4 (already superior to OG XBone) and PS4 Pro (which is superior to X1S), and the X1X is a superior experience overall (I love my Pro, don't get me wrong, I still have like 25-35 games that are either PS exclusive, or I got much cheaper on PS and enjoy playing on there. Still a thousand hours of gameplay for me on there still to come.) Between a Pro and an X1X games range from looking/performing slightly better to much better (often similar graphics but smoother framerate on older games, better graphics on newer games is more noticeable, especially in terms of textures.) )
The difference from base PS4 to X1X is fairly extreme, meaning the difference from OG XBone to X1X is even more extreme. X1S kind of sits between PS4 and PS4 Pro......so there's a notable gap, but it's more about "how much improvement matters to me" versus "why am I still using this paperweight?"
Note that I'm running 1080p and not even fully using the 4k output on either machine, but am taking advantages of the super sampling from >1080p rendering which also makes a big difference, especially when using a monitor.
@NEStalgia Thanks for the feedback! Yes, OG XB1 to 1X. I too would be running it on 1080p instead of 4k, with the prospects of having most everything I play run at 60fps.
It's just.... that asking price lol.... I need to find a deal at like $350 and i'll impulse buy.
@NEStalgia So, I assume you've watched and read it all? I also couldn't find an exact comparison like you were seeking, but the point of the videos, and the point I was making with them, still stands: both games are unoptimized, and offer little benefits to more powerful hardware, other than a somewhat higher frame rate, because even a powerful PC card showed that the game doesn't run all that well, or varies in frame rate numbers, so whether or not you get it on the PS4, the PS4 Pro, the Xbox One (S) or the Xbox One X, it would seem that the differences between these versions are largely negligible.
So, the major takeaway from this for you should be that you should simply go for the better deal, regardless of on which console that is, because in this specific case, the game doesn't run all that better on the premium console. I expect the benefits of running it on the X will probably be somewhere in between the Pro and that 4K PC card, but still not flawless.
And you're welcome.
