I'd expect there to be some exceptions, for essential npcs, at least, @Octane .... I hadn't heard them saying you could do absolutely anything at all, though? Then, there'd be various requirements for some options, too, including those relating to background I'm planning to try the no violence approach, just to find out if you really can finish the game without killing anyone, personally! That might take a few tries, finding out just what you can do otherwise & how to do it all
Then, I might go for the slaughter everybody approach after that, too, to see how that works
But I wonder, can you just kill a random NPC? How about an NPC tied to a quest?
It will be extremely disappointing if, given the amount of freedom and customisation the game has promised, you can't just kill random NPCs. That would be really immersion-breaking.
Whether you can kill all quest-related NPCs is another question. I know some games like Deus Ex do that, but it's also a completely acceptable compromise if you can't.
I logged into my MS account for the first time in eight years. What a blast from the past, looking at that 100k gamer score. I didn't even care about achievements as much from '07 to '09, I was knee-deep into Phantasy Star Universe. And seeing some good stuff that hasn't been re-released since their XBLA release. Bionic Commando Rearmed, Dungeon Fighter Live, ilomilo, etc.

@NEStalgia I agree, they are not old games if you haven't played them or if they are free remasters the day you play them again. Even if they are not remastered, is Sekiro the same game on Series X/S than on Xbox One X, I mean, can you say that the gaming experience is the same after watching the videos? And who has played all the games that they wanted to play this generation? Why is the first next-gen game worth playing (and worth buying a new console at launch for!) but not the best games of the current generation as remasters or at 60fps compared to 20fps? Octane's comparison with Mario is illogical, what Mario game runs badly on the original hardware? Is it better a short PS4 spin-off semi-sequel (and now also cross-gen!) remastered for PS5 that you can play at launch or is it better to keep the original ambitious scope of the game even if it means delaying Halo Infinite? What is the best value attached to a new console, a PS4 paid remaster like Spider-Man 2018-2020 or a free remaster like Gears 5 2019-2020? What is better for older games, a rough "PS5 boost mode" or next-gen enhancements like Auto HDR, double frame rate, resolution upgrade and improved texture filtering?
It seemed that Octane basically got & played all the games he wanted on launch, so there'd be very few he'd want to go back to play, @BlueOcean .... Personally, I still do replay some older games & sometimes find ones I missed out on, so I appreciate options for playing those

@NEStalgia He's not a gamer. He has only played The Legend of Zelda 1 and Super Mario Sunshine and pretends to have played the rest of the games that he talks about.

@BlueOcean that's very unfair. He clearly enjoys Sony walking simulators. I'm sure he likes Wii Sports and Ring Fit Adventure. And I hear he was an avid Nintendogs player back in the day. Maybe he even owns every FIFA ever made. Casuals are kind of gamers too!

That's right and he has platinum-ed every single Sony walking simulator.

I don't know about the One X, but at the very least Sekiro will definitely have a better framerate on SeriesS/X than the Xbox One. That had terrible slowdown issues and routinely dropped to like 15fps in the main castle area.
