@BlueOcean Yeah Sony had a stock in Square which can presumably be attributed to why Final Fantasies VII-XII never came to non-PlayStation consoles
Coincidentally the shares were sold off in 2014 which was the year before Cloud was announced as a playable character in Smash 4 and when FFVII Remake was announced as a timed PS4 exclusive
Microsoft ain't fooling around - nabbing Zenimax like that is huge.
I wonder what else they have in the acquisition pipeline. There were rumors of them acquiring someone from Japan a while back.... could Sega or Capcom be in their sights next?
Yeah, he really seems to be suggesting a lot of games will be multi-platform, @GilbertXI .... They'll definitely need to clarify their plans for upcoming big releases soon!
A thousand refresh button clicks on 4 different websites have born fruit!!!! Boy am I glad I didn't just go with Amazon. Still no idea where their product page is!
Yes!!! Finally got my pre-order for Series S through on the Microsoft Store (UK) It kept on saying i'd reached the maximum number but not putting it in my cart so quickly switched to the Edge browser instead of Chrome and it went straight in. That was a stressful 10 minutes and kept thinking they would all be gone before my order completed
The Series X sold out a lot faster than the Series S. The Series S is still available on amazon, nearly an hour later.
I guess that's because it's the most devoted people who buy it on launch, and they favour the more powerful consoles. I'm thinking surely the Series S sells more over the long term though.
The same was true with PS5 on amazon. The more expensive disc-based console sold a lot more than the digital version.
I would normally go with the Series X but I want to upgrade my computer as well so Series S was a good value option to play the same games that I could afford. Yeah I think mostly the pre-orders will be for the more expensive console but when they are on general sale the Series S will probably sell more
Series S is locked in with the Microsoft (UK) store after trying Game a few times and not getting past the maintenance screen, then seeing how they were locking the delivery method to collection in store. Meanwhile, no issues whatsoever with the Microsoft store.
@Alpha-2002 I doubt it. Capcom and Sega would not want to sell themselves off, they make too much money on their own. Capcom does have a habit of making deals with Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft for exclusive games for each of them, they could just do that.
I think 2 years ago, Zenimax would not have sold off in the first place. But their president just died, before that someone was accused of sexual allegations, and fallout 76 released. They weren't exactly in the best shape they could be, so Microsoft swooped in.
