Grumblevolcano

Yeah, the focus seems to be on Crackdown 3.

@ThanosReXXX pretty sure the shareholders aren't even pulling the strings on this stuff anymore. Theyre just along for the ride with us.

@NEStalgia Well, in that case, GameStop has unintentionally become an even more apt name for the company than they ever could have imagined when they started it...

@ThanosReXXX LOL, so true. That's why the UK equivalent just went with "GAME"....less memeable. GameStop 76, Game(PleaseJust)Stop....the list is endless. It sucks. I want to like them. How could I not want to like the last gaming store around? But it's like trying to like EA if EA were the last game developer around. You can try and try, but they'll make sure you can't.

Also, there was a rumor (not sure if it's true) that GameStop is in rebellion about MS pushing digital so hard, and was contemplating boycotting X1 physical game sales (after a year or two ago talking about how MS actually left them more margin than Sony and Nintendo on 1st party games so they tried to push those hardest...) They basically go round robin, threatening and antagonizing vendors into giving them better deals, more inventory allotment, etc. Like EA used to do to Sega. It's weird. I don't actually want them to disappear, but I want them to dispose of the entire management suite and get someone that's at least better than Eddie Lampert.

@NEStalgia You forgot GameStopPreordering...

But I get it, although more or less being forced to like a game store because it's the only one left....
well, that also really doesn't sound like the best of reasons.

And there's always the giant department stores, like BestBuy and what not, who'll probably always have some kind of games section. Over here, we've pretty much also got one major brand of game store left. The other options are the larger toy stores that have a video game department, or indeed the department stores. But I also buy a lot online, although mostly from stores that actually do also have a brick and mortar location, but that's just to far from where I live to go there.

The cost for the trip would be triple or more of what I pay in delivery costs...

By the way: how do you paste those tweets directly? I've tried a bunch of stuff/commands in the recent past, but I never managed to turn them into anything other than making it a normal url.

Hey man sorry missed this yesterday. Whether on mobile or pc there should be a little down arrow to the right of each tweet. First option in the drop down menu is "Copy link to tweet". Just paste it in your comment, no formatting needed

Since we're still talking about GS, if anyone is in the market for an xbox theyre discounting all new ones, including bundles, by $50. Sale goes until Saturday!

redd214

ThanosReXXX

@redd214 Don't worry about it. I'd figure you'd get to it whenever you had the time.
I wasn't in any rush or anything, just curious...

Haha resident evil 2 is a lot of fun, it has genuinely scared me a few times. Darned Lickers and their propensity to jump at you out of nowhere.

Successfully walking past a Licker without being detected has got to be one the most tense things I’ve done in a video game.

Basically every letsplayer is playing the Leon scenario first, so I didn’t spoil much by watching their early game videos (I’m playing as Claire first).

@Delibheel oh not buying to keep, they're getting flipped asap. Get a couple months of game pass and Anthem for free. One is enough for me too

Anyone still getting login issues? They said the fixed them but I'm still having trouble.

So Crackdown 3 is split into 2 separate downloadable files, Campaign and Wrecking Zone. xbox.com says Wrecking Zone is launching 15th February but the single player has no release date yet.

Grumblevolcano

redd214

@Grumblevolcano guess that's good for space saving if you just want one or the other. The lack of a date on the Campaign page is a bit worrisome though. Really hope it's just something they missed adding to the page and not another delay. We will find out soon enough.

New XBone console-exclusive RPG got announced that looks pretty cool, if you're like me and enjoy first-person dungeon crawlers like Might & Magic or (more on-point) Legend of Grimrock: https://gematsu.com/2019/01/operencia-the-stolen-sun-coming-t...

I'll personally be waiting until the Steam Summer Sale of 2021, since the PC version is exclusive to the Epic Games Store, which I'm not a fan of so far. But I'm nothing if not patient.

@ThanosReXXX Here in the land of Walazon our choices get more limited. There's GameStop.....nuff said. There's Walmart (which is always an hour away from any point on a map and is responsible for most of retail's destruction.) The malls are half (or more) vacant (people say it's because the economy, no it's because in the 90's the leveraged the malls at obscene $ per sq-ft during the how high is high economy, and then became restricted by the banks to have to lease at that rate, unable to adjust for retailer needs and the economy...they all assumed the dotcom would boom forever - and it's because in response to that developers built huge strip centers for big boxes on every side of them and the stores moved across the street, then died.) The department stores are long dead, even Neiman Marcus, the store that doesn't sell a pen for under $100 is in trouble. Sears is the common store....yeah.... So we're left with Best Buy (which also flirts with bankruptcy often) and Target. They toy stores are gone (TRU & KB leave only....Walmart and Target.)

So basically other than food, specialty boutiques and $$$$ stores, we're left with only Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Amazon for everything..... a few others for clothing. The strip centers are now just a bunch of chain restaurants for the office lunch crowd, plus services like spas, salons, insurance, medical offices. All the Porsches I can blame "this area" and gentrification...but no, the retail condition is pretty much national. It's now a self feeding circle. The only place to really get anything, get it cheaply, and get it conveniently is Amazon. And the more you fund them the more the others die. Thus I want to be able to love GS....but.....they make life in Amazonistan seem desirable.....

@Grumblevolcano Yikes, so far I haven't experienced anything, which surprises me, I'm normally the one. But I haven't rebooted it lately. I played at like 2:00 AM though, so I'm not sure when the trouble started (xTreme cold weather insomnia.... )

Also, weird about crackdown having two parts with two different release dates. What the heck kind of development heck did that game go through!?!

@redd214 LOL "Hey guys, there's a great sale on XBox at GameStop!"......."Nevermind, it's cheaper everywhere else....." Yup...kinda in a nutshell.

@CanisWolfred Hmm, that sounded cool until I saw it was Zen Studios....I'll have to go wait and see on that....they can be a little iffy IMO.

Major props to Ubisoft marketing. Got the The Division 2 private beta invite email "Come see what a real government shutdown looks like..." Beautiful marketing there
