@Yosheel I got the white one as well. Forza Horizon 3 + Hot Wheels expansion 1TB bundle.
And trust me, it may be a bit of a bummer now, for a while, but seeing as you're not supposed to stare at the console all the time while playing, you won't notice anymore sooner than you might think. But that controller was cool, though...

Apparently it's really loud, if that one review is being honest!

As for the controller, I got one of these these to accessorize it, so it should make it a little more interesting!

@Yosheel Well, I don't know which review told you that, but my Xbox One S is a hell of a lot quieter than my Xbox 360. Sometimes I'm almost tempted to put my ear to it, to check if it's actually doing something, but then again: I'm no tech nerd with native American tracking tendencies, like @NEStalgia...

@NEStalgia Good to know that you will play Final Fantasy XIII trilogy in order. It was nice reading your first impressions, anyway. The DS version of Final Fantasy IV has something similar to Active Time Battle, I think, am I right? Not sure about the SNES version. I didn't like the demo of World of Final Fantasy on PS4 much but seeing as the Xbox One version is the definitive edition by default and the demo is too short to really know, would you recommend the game? Not a huge fan of anything chibi.

Great explanation about Hitman, what about The Fall and Go? If Human Revolution Director's Cut is on Wii U then I should check that! I don't have any 360 physical game but I have both physical and digital games on Wii U and the console is connected to the TV for retro and modern Nintendo gaming pleasures.

I have been ignoring this series forever it seems. Funnily, the Brook adapter I bought was for using PS4 controllers on Xbox One, specifically the Mad Catz SFV fighting stick, I would never use a DualShock controller on purpose. I didn't know that there are universal adapters at that time but now I'm not sure if they are flawless either. The only games that make me keep my PS4 now are Kingdom Hearts and Wipeout, but once I beat the KH games I will probably be interested in the theatre mode only. I loved Birth by Sleep but I played it almost 100% with the three characters. That was more than enough and I don't feel like replaying the others either. I still have to play Dream Drop Distance and KHII.

@BlueOcean Awww, shucks

I am serious!

@NEStalgia Are you saying that the white Xbox One S is noisy? Cross the ocean and I'll show you my launch PS4 that sounds like a hairdryer. But yes, we all know how much you love to put your ear near the fans. I think this what ThanosReXXX means my OCD. I did it on my Xbox One X out of curiosity because I couldn't believe how quiet it is.

@Yosheel Good, the white S is nice too. What review?

Black Friday is coming up and we're eyeing a new 4k TV and an Xbox One X. I think Microsoft lowered the official MSRP by $100 for the next few weeks? Thought I had a good deal with Best Buy cuz they're offering a $100 gift card with the purchase of a TV and One X together, but the price of the X for this offer is still listed as $500, so I wouldn't really be getting a better deal than if I just bought them separately anyway.

@Yosheel on a side note: not my thing, those silicon gloves for consoles, but as long as you yourself are happy with it, that's most important. But if you're using it for some extra grip, well...
Never had an issue with not being able to hold on to the controller or anything, so I personally wouldn't need any extra grip.

I also wouldn't use these extra thumb stick caps. The sticks are concave, so your thumb is almost naturally locked into them, and won't slip, unless you're making some weird, erratic movements.
From what I can see from the picture, those caps would make the tops of the sticks convex/rounded again.

I just like to have them. They add color and some texture. The thumbstick covers should sink into the concave shape just fine, as far as I know, it's just floppy plastic.

The review I mentioned was a random amazon review that said the xbox one s was extremely loud. Nothing to worry much about, just found it funny.

@Yosheel It's not as loud as a PS4....let alone a 360....let alone a PS3....

@PikPi With the Black Friday sales, you should not have to pay 500 bucks for an Xbox One X:

Oh, and be sure to get the best screen for it, to get the most out of the experience. Best panel, best option package, and lowest response time to minimize and/or prevent controller input lag.

Here's a solid and trustworthy review:

@PikPi Yes, the $100 (or equivalent currency) off on all Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles is official, a cut made by Microsoft that affects retail price. So grab yours before the 26th when the offer officially ends.

Breaking news!

Microsoft will release two more Xbox One models next year, the Xbox One XS, that will be similar but cheaper and simpler than the Xbox One S and an even cheaper disc-less Xbox One console designed for digital games only.

@BlueOcean So, just revisions then, as expected seeing as this also happened with the Xbox 360.

I guess it's meant to be a pun on "extra small"? Given the name of their current models, it might be a bit confusing though...

I would've probably enjoyed a slightly smaller model myself. Assuming it's considerably smaller without a disc drive.

@DarthNocturnal Simpler in design, because of it having no disc drive, from what I got from the article.
@Yosheel Yup, probably Xtra Slim or something like that.

Here's the video, for those of you who prefer watching over reading:

Personally, I'm REALLY not interested in this "Xbox One S Slim", seeing as I like my disc-based games, and my ownership of them, so this "sell your disc-based games and get a digital key in exchange" program that Microsoft will start with participating retailers can go shove it, for all I care.

Yosheel wrote:

I just bought one But well, I guess they're not that different from the S.

I do not think that you are interested in the disc-less model, are you? The other new model, XS, will be cheaper than the official S price but you bought S with a big Black Friday discount. Besides:

@DarthNocturnal

Microsoft is moving forward very carefully as it knows that a sizeable portion of its users do prefer to buy physical games and not download them. For that reason, a revised version of the Xbox One S, which is reportedly due to launch later in 2019, will include a disc-drive. However, the intention with this second new model is to focus on cost reduction, so existing features may be trimmed and changed elsewhere.

Two things are clear:

Firstly, the disc-less Xbox One is digital only.

Secondly, the "XS" will be like the S and will have a disc reader but it is expected to be smaller and cheaper than S so they assume that existing features may be trimmed or changed.

I don't really own any Xbox one discs so... I'd be fine with a digital only version.

But hey I'm fine having just one Xbox one. Too late Microsoft, you lost your future sale.

Because you already have my money.
