@BlueOcean I knew all the tech stuff and what Xbox One offers what advantage, so that was a bit superfluous. I've been a long time Xbox owner across two generations...

EDIT:
And Xbox One games running best on Xbox One X is of course also quite logical, seeing as it has more memory and a better CPU. It's pretty much the difference between a medium and a more high end gaming rig, if you would be playing on PC.

By the way: if you're also into first person shooters, then you might want to look into an Original Xbox (yes, the one BEFORE the Xbox 360) game called Black. It was made by the original team behind the first Burnout arcade racing games on GameCube and PS2, and it features great gameplay, destructible environments and a good story. It's on sale in the market place right now, and it already looks and runs like a dream on the S, with 4x upscale and cleaned up graphics, and will run even better on the X, which displays the game with an 8x graphics upscale.

And speaking of arcade racers: the game has been mentioned before by me and several other people, in the last couple of pages, but if you like those as well, then Xbox 360 title Split Second is all but a must buy. Or you could try it out on Game Pass, if you have that. It's a really great arcade racer with lots of replay value.

@ThanosReXXX Hm... I didn't say that you didn't know, did I?

@BlueOcean No, you didn't, but that's why I said that it's superfluous: what's the point in mentioning it to anyone who already knows all that? No offense meant or taken, though, just wondering and making an observation...

By the way: added an edit to the previous comment.

@ThanosReXXX Well, but that was not a private message, it's meant to be read by everyone. Next time I won't use the @ so you don't get offended by a "superfluous" reply or just shut up :S

@BlueOcean Like I said: I took no offense, but I meant none either. It was just a simple observation and me wondering why you would tell me that, and seeing as I was the only one addressed, I took it as directed at me, which really isn't all that unexpected.

Hope that clears the air, because far as I'm concerned, no harm was done.
And then there's still the edit bit to discuss, that I added to my previous comment, which might make for a more enjoyable bit of conversation...

@BlueOcean Cheers. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. A pro-tip: let the energy bar fill up completely before you use it, for the more crazy destruction events. I know it is tempting to try and use the smaller events sooner, to try and wipe out an opponent as soon as you have enough energy to do so, but the bigger events are just so much more fun, and not to mention: far more destructive, and able to completely transform the track you're driving on, which is part of where the replay value that I mentioned earlier, comes from.

By the way, just to try and pique your interest in that other game that I mentioned, here's a bit of gameplay from Black:

On a side note: if there's any specific genre that you like more than any other, I'd be more than happy to make some Xbox-specific suggestions. Or I could just make a short list of general suggestions, and tag some other people, so they might be persuaded to add some favorite titles of their own. Might give you access to some interesting titles that you haven't had the pleasure of playing before...

Our conversation is surreal LOL.

Even though I got Split/Second as a Game with Gold I haven't played it yet. I will follow your advice.

The best would be to start these recommendations with original Xbox games available on Xbox One, because there aren't many to be honest and it will be quick. Which ones do we guys recommend apart from Black? Is it 60 fps? It looks like it and seems to be somehow inspired by Goldeneye 007 (cinematic, missions...) I am intrigued now.

The original Xbox games that I'd recommend on Xbox One would be Conker Live & Reloaded, SSX 3 and The Sands of Time, but I haven't played SSX 3 yet so not sure. I remind (not you @ThanosReXXX, don't worry LOL) that all original Xbox games are X-enhanced at least the resolution (16x wow) and anti-aliasing. Resolution is 4x on Xbox One S (1080p). Performance is massively improved too. For instance, Grabbed by the Ghoulies is solid 60 fps on Xbox One and it was 30 fps on Xbox. It's another solid recommendation in my book in spite of being a hated game and it's included in Rare Replay.

@BlueOcean

P.S.

I forgot to mention that, from the original Xbox games, I also really like Breakdown. It's a ridiculously nice over the top action game, that really benefits from the better performance on the Xbox One.

@NEStalgia Yeah, like I said to @BlueOcean, sometimes these online conversations go real bad, real quick, and more than likely with both parties involved none the wiser on what the hell just happened, so let's go with that idea, also safe in the knowledge (well, I am, at least... ) that these kinds of discussions can be tabled in less than 10 minutes in real life. That is simply because online communications lack a couple of critical parts, which in turn necessitates over-usage of text and smileys, to make our ACTUAL intent clear, which also on occasion has the opposite effect, leading to irritation and what not, and all of it unnecessary, which is the saddest part of it altogether...

As for my Windows problem: luckily it wasn't an install problem, otherwise, I'd definitely be busy for more than one day, seeing as I would have to reinstall a truckload of stuff, something that I would REALLY not like to do...

So, now that you've cleared the air with Blue, how about your opinion on recommendations for OG Xbox and Xbox 360 games on Xbox One?

@ThanosReXXX Sure, are you Dutch or just live in Netherlands? I was there this summer, really nice. I have a lot of 360 games already because of Games with Gold and Deals with Gold but I'm sure that there are some I don't even know about.

@BlueOcean I'm American, from California. I just live in the Netherlands (Amsterdam, to be exact). I got taken abroad by my parents when I was 9, and I'm 48 now. Got a Dutch passport, though, so I'm what they call a "naturalized" immigrant, over here...

Weather over here now is still considerably mild, but after today, things are expected to take a sharp dive into regular autumn weather, so I guess it'll be rain and storms, but we'll see...

@Yosheel is that just the only Xbox 360 game you own, or also the only Xbox 360 game you know?

It's absolutely criminal if any of us, Nintendo boys in our childhood, don't have Rare Replay.

EDIT: @ThanosReXXX California? I wouldn't mind going there either!

@ThanosReXXX I think it had about three or two more games!

We had more games, but my brother took them with him and I only managed to rescue that one. Not that I played any of the others.

Another game I liked was A Kingdom For Keflings. I got the sequel on WiiU but the original didn't come out there.

@BlueOcean Or just financially inconvenient, at the moment. This past month, I've bought the digital version of Black (still have the original disc, but didn't want to keep that in the drive all the time to be able to play it on the Xbox One), paid for my avatar/account name change to make it the same across all consoles, bought a bunch of Wii U games on sale (six in total), bought a 4TB external hard drive for the Xbox One, bought a 1TB external hard drive for the Xbox 360, bought the deluxe Forza Horizon 2 bundle for Xbox One, and I've bought the Blizzard Mountain expansion for Forza Horizon 3, which was the only expansion that I didn't have yet, for that game.

All in all, I've spent several hundreds of euros, so time to pull the brakes and do some more useful things with what's left of last month's income...

I actually never played the Banjo games or Perfect Dark until their 360 release.

I played the living crap outta the Banjo games though. I'm missing just one achievement in Banjo-Kazooie (which I could probably get easily with an hour or so of dedication), and I mastered Tooie. Even got all the Stop N Swop II items (useless though they may now be).

I'm also one of the few people on this planet that actually likes Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts.

I still need to beat Perfect Dark though.

EDIT: Actually, 360 re-releases and Rare Replay provided me with my first playthroughs of many non-Nintendo IP Rare games.

Same here, I got all the achievements and items in Banjo-Tooie. Could it be that the only achievement that is left in Banjo-Kazooie is for completing all of Bottles's puzzles? Because that's my case. Nuts & Bolts is enjoyable once you accept that it's not a platforming game. You feel so good when you create a new vehicle that is more efficient. You can get really creative in this game, and that's the best thing about it. Perfect Dark is so cool.

@ThanosReXXX I edited the last comment. I will never forget my first time with Rare Replay playing remastered versions of my childhood games (N64) with the awesome elite controller in my hands and, most of all, trying to get used to the A B X Y different layout compared to most Nintendo consoles (B A Y X) which is quite confusing but at the end makes more sense on the Xbox controller. I think that Nintendo layout is backwards because in Japan they read from right to left.

There are enemies in Grabbed by the Ghoulies that require you to press the buttons that appear on screen very quickly, I don't know how I completed the game 100% because I grew up with the A and X buttons on the right and the B and Y buttons on the left. It is underrated but I suspect that it plays much better on Xbox One in 60 fps (at least the Rare Replay version) than on the original console at 30 fps. It's quite challenging but also rewarding and fun and has a nice art style, especially the environments. It's very "arcadey". Some of the old games are also quite interesting and playable with the rewind feature. Viva Piñata is one of the nicest games I've ever played, it's really fulfilling. Rare Replay is like a gaming museum and it's presented as such.

Hmm, x0 and 360 bc games..... You've touched on the top picks already.

Jade empire: biowares best rpg after baldurs gate series.

Knights of the old republic 1 and 2: finally a star wars story that doesn't suck!

Jet set radio. Seriously, the best thing sega ever made.

Mass effect 1. Less story driven than 2 and 2, and way worse gunplay, but it was a legit RPG unlike 2 and 3.

Ac1, of course.

Dragon age trilogy. (Origins is best on pc by far, as it was designed as a baldurs gate successor, but servicable on console.)

Rdr1. Have to mention it since 2 is a week away....

There's so many more i can't think of of the top of my head.

Edit oh and republic commando was a legit shooter and decent sw story. Still better than the. Prequel films anyway.
