@Ralizah On a different system years and years and years later.
So what? Wouldn't it be better for Scalebound to survive and release in some form in the future, as opposed to being a permanently dead project?
@Grumblevolcano It could, although, considering Nintendo's history, a staggered release is more likely. I fully expect the Big N to push BOTW as a Switch exclusive for at least one month before releasing the Wii U version, mirroring their treatment of Twilight Princess.
@DarthNocturnal Heh, "indefinitely postponed" is a fantastic phrase. Let's cancel something without giving people any sense of closure.
Currently Playing: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (PC); Unicorn Overlord (NS)
@Ralizah Again yes. Obviously yes. But it is an astoundingly (and intentionally obviously) simplified way of comparing two totally different games made by two totally different companies whose publishers were totally different. It's ignorant of any and all context. It's ignorant of the money poured into each project, it's ignorant of the financial situation of both the publishers and the developers, it's ignorant of how many obstacles each game faced through development, it's ignorant of the exact reasons why The Last Guardian was released and why Scalebound was cancelled. For that last one the narrative is obviously that Sony are nice and Microsoft are evil. At least if we continue down this pathetic, black/white, contextless path that is the outcome.
Seriously someone made a fanboy comment hours ago on Neogaf and was banned in seconds. Where are the standards with this site?
Not referring to you here obviously, you didn't start this or insult someone. 5 times.
So one of the reasons that I bought the xbone just went up in smoke. Crackdown 3 better be awesome. Because I am about ready to sell the paperweight. I'll be in the corner crying brokenly.

Funnily enough, I was watching a HappyConsoleGamer video yesterday where he talked about games he was looking forward in 2017, and I thought how poorly the footage of Scalebound looked! Still a shame to miss out on a new Kamiya game. Fully expect him to sulk about it and not get started on a new project anytime soon.

Then go post on NeoGAF. It's obvious you have a control fetish and want people you disagree with to be censored. It sounds like a perfect community for you.
And I wasn't comparing this with TLG. I happened to reference it in a post.
Get a grip. Go outside and breathe some fresh air. It'll do you a world of good.
@Shinion Alright, couple of things, replying to me once is enough, I get the notification, can't watch the forums 24/7 unfortunately. If you have an issue, you can either use the contact form on the bottom of the page, that's the easiest way to contact the NLife team. You can also hit the report button, which I see you've already done, so I'll leave it for another mod to judge the matter. Maybe I'm misinformed, but it seems you're not a stranger to provoking certain reactions either. At least, that is how it appears to me.
Anyway, I suggest we get back on topic in the meantime; Scalebound got cancelled, and as I said before, that's a real shame.
This is why I laugh when hardcore Xbox fanboys run around saying stupid sh*t like 'none of those Sony games have release dates.' We'll be getting those games people are talking about like God of War, Spider-Man, The Last of Us Part II, Gran Turismo Sport on PS4. We still have no idea what's going on with 3 and now Scalebound, a game Xbox fans were definitely hyping, is officially cancelled. I'm a big Xbox fan and this is disappointing news. MS' 2017 slate is not impressive.
@Shinion I can't comment on those features, I'm just a moderator. That is something you could suggest to ant, but I don't think that's necessary here at all. You can always choose to ignore certain posts if you don't like them. That's what I do, I don't reply to everything either. In my opinion, it would also go against the idea of an open forum where people are free to discuss anything Nintendo and other gaming related.
Anyway, you report has been received, and like I said, let's get back on topic.
Kind of a shame to see so many of Microsoft's 1st party games get cancelled. Phantom Dust, Fable Legends, Project Spark (well, retroactively cancelled), and now Scalebound. Crackdown 3 had rumored development issues a while back.
i remember seeing the first presentation of scalebound back at some e3 and i thought "that is so random and just plain stupid". dragon? okay. idiot with headphones swinging a sword? WHAT?!
Bah, all this convo about a cancelled game, and I finally decided to look for Crackdown 3 gameplay, and... the most substantial footage I could find was in 2015, and I have to say, this is the first time that I saw the words, "Pre-Alpha footage" and said "No $#!+". Combined with some of the stuff they're trying to do, I'm not surprised it's taking a while. At the very least, I hope Microsoft gives it the time it needs to get things right, instead of cancelling it because it's taking too long.
Granted, it's still 1 of only...4 or 5 Xbox One exclusives that I'm interested in at the moment (Well, one one or two of them are also on Windows 10, but F*** the Windows App Store). It's pretty much just...Sunset Overdrive, Gigantic, Crackdown 3, and the Rare Replay. Maybe Killer Instinct if I like the old school ones. I never got to try the N64 game, so I can't really say whether or not I'd enjoy it. Mostly, I just care about backwards compatibility, in case my 360 breaks...
(a) Do not reply to this post. No discussion is necessary or welcome. Use the contact form if you want to give feedback.
(b) @Peek-a-boo - Your post was flaming and has been edited.
(c) @Shinion - Your level of butthurt for what was a rather tame flaming is excessive, IMO. If a post causes you concern then report it - once. If you want to follow-up the report then use the contact form. Don't start filling a thread with your butthurt. We (the Mods) process reports on an adhoc basis - spamming us with demands to deal with the report is not going to do you any favours and has contributed to others being banned in the past, so please be warned about that.
Now let's move on.
So... I just bought an Xbox One. Looks like I'll be selling it again soon (once I've played the two titles I bought it for - Rare Replay and Master Chief Collection). Microsoft do seem to make hash after hash with this whole gaming business they're in it seems.
God I hate pre-alpha footage. Thats not a thing industry. Alpha is when you start making the mechanics and putting them together into a game with the assets or prototype for show. Saying this is whhat the game is, might change a bit as its still being put together.
Pre alpha is paper on a desk.
Now Playing: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Crash Bandicoot 4
I haven't used my Xbox One in ... probably about 6 months. I tried to turn it on yesterday to watch AGDQ on my big TV screen, and the darn thing won't turn on! I've checked all the connections, the power strip, etc. Absolutely nothing!
Any ideas what it could be? Honestly, I've tried all the logical stuff. I build my own computers, so I'd like to think I'm not overlooking something stupid, but you never know. But to me, it seems like the thing's just gone belly-up.
