@Dezzy KH's plot is a Gordian Knot that we'll be lucky if even the Square-Enix's writers can solve. Just treat it the same way I'd wager most kids treat Disney movies - "I don't quite get what's going on, but it's really exciting to watch and makes me feel stuff."
I've already got the first collection, in anticipation of KH3. And just because I enjoyed the first 2 games back in the PS2 era so I wanted to replay.
I'll get 2.8 later in the year too. I'm waiting to find that for a good price though as it doesn't seem worth that much. DDD was a bit crap from what I played and the other thing is quite short I hear.
I hated DDD's skill system and how it was tied to the stupid dream eaters. Made for so much tedious grinding. I wish they would have stuck to BBS' fusion system
@Dezzy@MisterPi I also hate Dream Drop's system, stopped playing the game after only 1-2 hours.
However I'm gonna have to force myself to beat it so I can continue the story/plot of the games.
As for BBS 0.2: A Fragmentary Passage, yes it is pretty short but it's still integral to the story, and more importantly it shows you an early "demo" of what KH3 will play like.
You also don't want to miss out on the "Back Cover" movie that is included with Dream Drop and 0.2 in the 2.8 Collection.
I finally beat the first Devil May Cry. Wow was that an exercise in frustration. Especially with that later boss that you fight 3 separate times. It was very much a product of its time. DMC2 already feels a whole lot better, so I'm hoping this is where everyone falls in love with the characters, cuz I can't remember a single thing about Dante from the first one other than he's the son of Sparda.
@MisterPi You don't remember his snarky banter and B-movie-esque deliveries? That's all anyone remembers from the first Devil May Cry. We aren't talking about some deep, emotional character that invokes intrigue or inspires awe among the playerbase. He's an anti-hero through and through, and some people can't get enough of that, especially since (IMO) his dialogue and general scenes get more rediculous and entertaining as the series goes on. Add to that the gameplay also starts ramping up to match it in terms of sheer audacity, while also becoming more technically refined and balanced, with 3 & 4 being near-perfect in terms of gameplay and especially combat.
Looking into finally getting a PS4 during Black Friday just for Bloodborne, Persona 5, God of War 2018, and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 (will hold out on III until there's confirmation of a PC or Switch release). Is there any other exclusive aside from God of War 2018 that has higher framerates on PS4 Pro?
If God of War is the only exclusive on PS4 Pro that has higher framerates, then I'm going to just get a slim PS4 because I already have a PC.
Spiderman is the only thing that is going to pull me away from my switch this year. I can't wait!!!

@Dezzy Are you looking for KH games that matter for story, or KH games that matter for gameplay. The story is an incomprehensible mess that makes FFXIII look like Hamlet. I just pretend it has no story. It's like they didn't even try....there's no anchor that even slightly makes sense. It seems like random junk designed by separate teams they just kind of pasted together and hoped it worked. And it's not the Disney crossover that breaks it. It's the FF half of it. For gameplay, they're all fun in their own way. I bought the Complete Edition to get all of the old ones now, and I get 3 "Free" in January
@Dezzy I hate redoing anything as well. DDD didn't really make you redo things (you'd revisit locations but it was a different character at a different time, not an actual repeat. But I hate dying in games and having to redo things I already did successful. So many incomplete games or games I moved to easy mode for that reason. And I really wasn't find of the DDD back and forth on a timer thing. I see what they were doing, but it didn't work. Putting me on a time limit, pausing me mid-progress and switching me to a save for a paralell campaign then switching me back was obnoxious. And totally inaccessible for non-gamers which....you would think...is a focus of a DISNEY game. I loved every minute of the game and story, but hated that aspect.
Also agree on Spiderman. I couldn't care less about Marvel, Spiderman, comic games, or anything that reminds me of the Activision Spiderman games. Batman is as far into superheroes as I go. But the more I see of the trailers the more I want this game....
@Dezzy Yeah, that's the type of trailer I figured we'd have more of by now. Definitely better than all the previous gameplay trailers that focused on story and setpieces, like it was the latest Marvel Movie instead of a video game...
@Dezzy Yeahh KH1 is the only one that really made sense. I guess cuz they didn't know how big it'd get, so the story was largely self contained. The chosen one, Sora, is the only one who can wield the keyblade, cuz it "chose him".
Fast forward to now and literally anyone can have a keyblade if they just want it lol. Fields littered with them and the countless other keyblade warriors. Even better, Sora is probably the least capable wielder now.
It's always fun to just look over the trainwreck of that storyline
@Dezzy Yeah KH1 made sense (sort of...it got that weird nonsensical vibe that only Square Enix manages to achieve even there), but yeah from there it became truly twisted FF nonsense. DDD just went nuts with meta lore characters, no explanation of who they are or what's going on, and presentation of new characters that seem like really important characters you're supposed to know, yet they're 1-and-done characters that seemingly have no importance, and then it ends on a cliffhanger.
I have nightmares about FFXIII and fal'cie, l'cie, cie'th, coccoon, foci, pulse. (Seriously I started to play Type 0, forgetting it was part of the pretentious Nova Crystalis....heard l'cie and just thought "no, no, nope, heeeck NO!" and changed games KH manages to be even less coherent.
@MisterPi Monaadoooo BUSTER!!! Wait...that's the right game, right?
Spiderman is the only thing that is going to pull me away from my switch this year. I can't wait!!!
Same for me for the most part. Spiderman is really the only must have title for me personally next 4 months on the ps4 sadly. I will still pick up games like SC6 and NBA2K19 but that's just more out of habit than anything else. Rest of my gaming money for the year is all going to switch too.
Spider man is the only game I'm actively anticipating for the PS4. Anything else is just me casually picking up whatever games I've missed for the rest of the year. Come to think of it, there's really not much for me in general this holiday. At least January will make it all worth it. As nonsensical as the story is, still 1000% hyped to see KH3 wrap things up for this current mess in the franchise. And then RE2 the same week. That'll be a great week
