Keep saying everyone at Sony is getting a little too Naughty Dog. We already found out you can watch a TLOU trailer and think its Days Gone because it has no identity beyong zambies.
Now God of War has removed the fast frantic gameplay for...Naughty Dog of War.
Over 30 hours.
I dont know how good of an idea that is.

Eh, you dislike basically every game anyway, so I don't know how much of an issue that is.
People though Mario Odyssey was Monster Hunter or Fossil Fighters during the E3 reveal until they revealed Mario, and look how that game turned out. Fine.
@Octane I think you're being a bit disingenuous. People thought it was Monster Hunter for 10 seconds because it introduced a realistic looking dinosaur at the very beginning of the trailer with the intention of misleading people. That's quite different from watching an entire 4 or 5 minute trailer and not knowing what game it's supposed to be until it explicitly tells you the title. Although I think that's less because ND games don't have an identity of their own and more because so many Western games are aping ND's style now, including the new God of War, which looks disturbingly like TLOU.
Can't say I'm particularly disappointed by the change, though, as I never liked GoW in the first place. They just turned an obnoxiously edgy character into a grizzled middle aged man. I guess it's worse in the sense that a distinctive character has turned into yet another version of the grizzled white male character that you'll find in almost every AAA Western game.
@Ralizah Don't you think that was their intention with the recent TLOU trailer as well? They deliberately didn't show anything that could possible hint at The Last of Us, no characters from the first game, no clickers (until the very end; i.e. the reveal), no firefly symbols like they used in the first five seconds of the first teaser trailer. The only thing that gave it away for me was the animation, because if there's one thing that ND excels at, it's that, and it was simply too good to be any other studio.
Whether you agree with the choice of the trailer is a different issue altogether. I personally don't, I think it was a poor choice to focus on characters I didn't care about (yet). But I'm certain it was their intention to keep it a secret until the very end.
Anyway, during the Ghost of Tsushima panel, the creative director asked the audience if they would be interested in Japanese audio. You can guess the reaction of the crowd. I think it's safe to say Ghost of Tsushima will also feature Japanese audio!
@Octane I can't imagine playing Ghosts of Tsushima in anything other than Japanese. Why would you go to the trouble of creating this detailed recreation of ancient Japan and then have everyone in it speak English?

@Ralizah Probably because it's easier. Licensing issues and all, the reason why a lot of Japanese games don't have Japanese audio options in the west. Plus, it's thirteenth century Japanese on Tsushima, which probably doesn't sound anything like modern Japanese. Either way you're not getting a truly authentic experience. However, I wonder if they also get Mongolian voice actors to do the Mongols...
I don't understand why 3D World wasn't on Switch day 1, it fits the console so much better than the Wii U with its local multiplayer focus.
But anyway: Sony. Kratos still looks like a cross between the vampires in "Priest" and the living embodiment of the importance of consent. Hopefully the game is good — don't know why they carried their PS2 era character into the reboot tho.
EDIT: Holy crap, Iconoclasts finally has a release date! I mean, I have been waiting for this game since 2008! This is huge! And unlike Konjak's other game, Noitu Love Revolution, I don't have to wait even more years for the console version! I'll finally be available on January 23rd! I can't wait!
3D World is a much stronger experience than a lot of people give it credit for. Princess Peach actually being playable puts it up in my top 5 Mario games on its own, but some of these levels are genuinely challenging and fantastic.

A video game is comprised of various mechanics to entice and entertain the player. These mechanics can be varied throughout the game. For instance, in God of War 3 you have all the God powers, things that are different mechanics, and abilities/weapons/combos for Kratos to use.
These would be the "Gimmicks" of the game. A collection of them, that forms the actions you perform. This is true of any game.

3D World was awesome fun. It just wasn't very deep or memorable. It's not something where you'd be talking about a particular level with someone 10 years down the line. Whereas everyone remembers all of the levels of 64.
@Snaplocket No need for a new Smash and Mario Kart, just add DLC to enhanced ports. So like MK8 Deluxe getting its first DLC pack when ARMS support slows down in the 2nd half of 2018 (I think I remember one of the Directs saying ARMS was being supported for a year?)
