@Ryno: no prob, hopefully I'll still be here in 4-6 years time when the Xbox One Two is outselling the PS5 3:1 in the UK and I can say, "I told you so!"
For what it's worth, I don't think Europe is buying more PS4 than Xbox because the latter is American. The 360 did very well in Europe, the UK especially. It's more to do with the fact that very early on it became clear the PS4 was going to be the lead platform for many games. Last time it was the 360 being the lead platform and you ended up with some great games getting bad PS3 ports, like the Elderscrolls and Fallout games, and Bayonetta.
The Xbox 360 was £209 from day one for the 'basic pack' and £279 for the 'premium pack' (the one with the detachable 20GB HD) whereas the original 60GB PlayStation 3 was £429.99 ... a whole £220 dearer! Their first launch model was one of the best - and cheapest - Blu-ray players at the time as well as offering full backward compatibility with the PSone and PS2 too.
The difference is enormous (the Xbox 360 was £220 cheaper), and Great Britain, for better or worse, is a really 'price sensitive' country.
This is why the Xbox One does pretty well for itself in the UK; it is £299 here compared to £349 for the PlayStation 4 (which has been the same price since day one, a shy over twenty one months ago) and often has a lot of silly deals that throws in three or four games at no further cost, or an extra controller and three months of Xbox Live, for example.
You just don't see these kind of deals with the PS4, because retailers know people will happily pay the extra dough for it.
I had surgery yesterday. I am now laid up for about two weeks. Think I'm going to run out and buy a PS4!
You sure it's a good thing to go running out to buy a PlayStation 4 so soon after surgery?
It is a good time as any to buy one, that's for sure. You can buy 'Surgery Simulator' on the PlayStation store if you wish to reenact your very own surgery, ha!
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is coming out next week; I am so excited about this one.
Looks startlingly similar to where I was born and raised, in the English countryside.

Played some PS4 at my cousins a couple of days ago. unfortunately all he had was Batman Arkham City, which I absolutely couldn't stand. Long story short, we turned it off after 25 minutes and played Super Mario Kart on his SNES instead.
Super Mario Kart is one of the best games of all time, whereas Batman: Arkham Knight (think you got a bit confused with Arkham City) is pretty ho-hum in all honesty.
Not a great game to watch somebody play either. Hopefully your cousin has something a lot more enduring to play the next time you visit him!
Y'know, I just realized I haven't heard anyone talk about the Order 1886 in...months. Like even on general gaming sites, I've seen no one discuss this game. It's all Splatoon/Witcher/BloodBourne/Arkham/indieofthemonth.
I'm happy about this. Thank you Bloodbourne, you made forget about an overhyped title. Like Remember Me and Deadpool I've heard more people talk about in the past 2 months than The Order, which makes NO sense.
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is probably the best 'walking simulator' I have ever played (so far), and I have played - and thoroughly enjoyed - the likes of Among the Sleep, Gone Home, The Stanley Parable and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
The indie games these past couple of weeks; Journey, N++, Galax-Z have all been brilliant, both individually and within their respective genres, as well as the cherry on the top today, with Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.
I'm enjoying indie games more so than full/retail games. How times have changed!
Well, just seen the news about the ps4 update and its becoming a wii u. Its adding a miiverse type community and stamps to add to posts.
This is the main reason i got a ps4. They know whats good and apply it to their systems.
I am still waiting for these four simple things though:
a) To be able to organise our games with folders - my Wii U has them and I would like my PlayStation 4 to have them too.
b) To be able to change our avatars on the PlayStation 4.
c) To be able to change our PSN ID, even if we have to pay to do so, just like I once did on my Xbox 360.
d) PNG screenshot captures please!
I keep seeing external hard drives being mentioned however, since it is so easy to plonk a super-speedy SSD inside the PlayStation 4, I don't see any real need (for Sony) to do so.
Dragon Quest XI, Disgaea 5, Deep Down, Final Fantasy VII Remake (and XV), Persona 5, Star Ocean 5 and the upcoming Level 5 RPG that will be shown at the Tokyo Games Show in September - the PlayStation 4 is home to all the best RPGs, just like they were in the PSone and PS2 days!
