@Ralizah I'm still quite excited to get a PS5 - but the more I think about it, my only reasons are a combination of: (i) shiny new next-gen console*, (ii) playing my PS4 games on a shiny new next-gen console, (iii) Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart.
Pretty much every other game I'm interested in I can play on PS4 or PC. Ratchet and Clank also has me hesitant - as much as I enjoy the series, £70 is over double what I'm willing to pay for a single game in it. I'll probably get some mileage out of the PS5 later on with their more cinematic experiences (new Uncharted please), but beyond that...yeah, Switch and PC will be my main platforms moving into this gen.
So yeah...the appeal of Playstation is diminishing for me too.
*Xbox is alright, but I barely touch by One X as it is, and again every game I'm interested in will be playable on PC...or One X.
@timleon PC gets almost everything Japanese that skips Xbox, and it also has GamePass, so I don't see the Series S/X ever being viable purchases for me, unfortunately
This is assuming GPU prices come down at some point, lol. Pandemic-era supply line disruptions, scalper bots, and miners have really taken the wind out of this new generation of RTX-enabled GPUs.
The only games that'd really test my resolve at this point are PS5 exclusive Silent Hill and/or Atlus games, but if the former happens, my hopes aren't high, and Atlus pretty much never immediately jumps to the next generation platform right away.
It would definitely suck if FFVII Remake 2 and on never came to PC, though.
I have a PC for multiplats and some of the Xbox games I'm interested in which still isn't a lot so I'm good on that front. I practically will never need an Xbox at this point but if I wasn't a PC gamer I'd probably still go with Sony and Nintendo on the console front because I just care way more about their exclusives
Right now all that interests me from Xbox is Hellblade 2, Perfect Dark and Fable, and those are at best probably 2-3 years away, probably even further for the latter two

In the other thread I forgot to mention wanting a sequel to dead nation ratchet deadlocked and q force on vita and sequels and or ports of several ps2 games/classics. Budakai tenchiachi 3 would have been sick as well mk armageddon and shaolin monks.
I forgot to mention how amazing indie and overseas support was. Ys is easily one of my favorite vita games so is risk of rain and guacamelee.
When they stopped flash sales and changed some licenses to one license only, I feel they killed off a lot of interest. Also some games never making it to the vita store from the psp was felt. New life sparked in my vita when the star wars battlefront games finally made it.
With everything going on with Sony, I do think about the alternate reality where the Series S and Series X|S prices weren't leaked meaning PS5 ended up being $599.
@Ralizah Sammy has impressed me. He appeared to check his apex PS fanboy card at the PS5 prelaunch door. He's been teetering on disgust with them for many months, even lamenting not long ago that they basically don't even return his emails at least reliably anymore and leave the press out to dry. We need a Push Square music video set to "Call Me Maybe."
If you'd have asked me 5 years ago I'd have laughed hysterically at the idea that I'd be nodding in agreement and assigning "likes" to him on a regular basis. He reigns it in and tows the PS line on and off....its his job after all.... but it's clear his rose tinted glasses have been stepped on and broken....that doesn't go back quite the same again.
Honestly it makes the site a lot better It's most fun when he's actually in the comments arguing against the Sony defenders like "no, this just sucks."
The final nail to me is a huge one with that post from G_o_N. He was the biggest cheerleader in September of "you'll see, Sony's doing everything right by the devs and it's going to be great, their messaging to consumers isn't good, but the pandemic, but inside everything is just so amazing" - I mean he's a Sony employee, what else can he say? For him to post what he did in that thread today, after being missing for a while, sounds like things have really changed inside, too. He sounds like he's either unhappy enough to consider leaving, or to consider speaking up and getting ousted, or just expecting random hammers to fall and oust him....yikes.
@Dezzy In the 1950's the world was told we would have flying cars by 2000. It's 2021 and we can't even have imaginary flying cars in an entertainment simulation! Too complicated!

LOL that's basically exactly where I am. It's new, I want to play my PS4 games on better hardware, and R&C. Kind of nailed it for me. There's very little else other than the 2p indies (Stray, Kena) on PS5 so far I actually care about that wasn't already on PS4. I went from super excited to get the PS5 in Sept to kinda hating it.....I don't actually hate the hardware.....but I feel I avoid using it. It's like watching Harvey Weinstein films. Or the Cosby Show. The product it self can be quite good and enjoyable, but simply engaging with it makes me feel like a criminal accessory to assault.
I'm mostly on XB & Nintendo because I stepped away from PC costs and hassle a long time ago. But otherwise if Sony continues this trajectory I think we should just merge the Playstation Fan Thread and the PC Gaming Thread at some point.
@Grumblevolcano That would be the timeline where Push Square closed and thanked everyone for the years of fun, and I bought 2 spare PS4 Pros on eBay, right?
Glad my financial situation is ok, since I'm gonna be spending likely hundreds on older games on my PS3 pretty soon!
If y'all have a good recommendation for a good, really cheap game on it (literally any game not currently downloadable on Nintendo system), I'd like to know.

Been loving Persona 5 Strikers. Don't usually Platinum stuff, but I got that trophy a few days ago and I'm still playing. Well on the way to having a 100% 'Mastered' Merciless difficulty file. Game absolutely rules.
I want to get a PS5 some point but I'm not in a mad rush - hoping that stock issues resolve by the end of the year. I'll buy one when they're readily available from a retailer without instantly selling out, don't really want to sit hitting F5 on a tracking site to try to get one.

After my terrific experience with Strange Brigade earlier this year, I'm looking forward to Zombie Army 4 being served up as a PS+ game next week. Maybe Oddworld: Soulstorm as well, although that series really isn't my cup of tea. And as for Days Gone? Even though it's "free" I'm not really all that interested.

I seem to have temporarily misplaced my Vita. Weeks ago (shows how much I use it).
I wanted to check which games I've bought digitally for it, but it seems the recent PSN store changes mean my only way of knowing is through the Vita itself. Anyone aware of any other route? PSN Store just lists recent transactions, and 'My Playstation' at playstation.com only shows PS4 and PS5 games.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
