Topic: RockBand 3 full functional 25 key keyboard, Pro real fender mode

Oh, I meant that the keyboard is just like the guitars have always been, but yeah, I'm confused about the pro mode for guitar as well. I thought I saw something in one of the screenshots that looked like it had a color and a number on it, almost like 7th fret of red was being indicated, or something like that.

Which brings up one of the things that always annoyed me about the Guitar Hero setup. The row of buttons you use goes longways up the neck, as if they are different fret positions, and some of the melodic work sort of implies that interpretation, but then the notes fall down their pathway as if they are different strings. Gah, too much mixing of two different directional analogies for what you're doing.

Numbers will come down on strings, if a 7 comes down on the thrid string from the right, then you play the 7th fret on the D string. For drums, the rectangles you play on the normal drums and the circles you play on the symbols.

It seems kinda cool, but it makes you think, at that point, wouldn't you rather just play real guitar?

Uh oh, pricing has been announced. $130 for the game and the keyboard (or just $80 for the keyboard by itself), which doesn't sound too bad. But then, the new pro mode compatible guitar costs $150. And then, the new drums cost $80. No thanks. I'll just get the new keyboard and survive without pro mode for guitar and drums (probably).

@SuperMario.... isnt that to be expected. Ive paid $200 for Rock Band 1 and 2. He said that you instruments are compatible so you dont have to upgrade all at once, so you can buy the pieces you want as you want them wich I think is really cool of them at Harmonix.

@BigA2.... thanx for the vid. Pro Mode is most definately need a new guitar the drums prob just require the cymbol add ons for the Rock Band 2 Set. Ill prob buy a new Drum Set as I jacked up another cymbal last night on some Eve 6

.... My hundreds of dollars on Rock Band DLC being instantly accessible for Rock Band 3 is a EPIC WIN

@Slapshot82 I suppose you're right. I just hope they're still compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour instruments. Otherwise, I might wait a little while to pick this up....

Depending of the system, I have a Wii's Gibson Les Paul series (from Guitar Hero 3) and it works with Rockband 2, Beatles and possibly Greenday (Bleh, I guess they'll give anyone a Rockband game these day. Look out for Rockband: Lady Gaga in shelves this Christmas ).

It's interesting to see Harmonix changing up the game up a bit, unlike Activision who seems to be milking the Guitar Hero franchise's cash cow long enough.

I might actually be interested in this, I thought the drums were fun when my niece brought Rockband up, but the keyboard looks awesome. Plus, it might help me learn keyboard a bit, which may come in handy some day. That video made me feel like playing my guitar... actually, I should work at my 12 string more, its hard to play.
