@Waltz Haha... I don't think those two games relate at all. I do see your point though. It's more about the style of gameplay though. I don't really like action games unless they have deep combat systems (Ninja Gaiden). I know the last Suda game I played was No More Heroes, which in my opinion, relied on an overuse of violence and foul language to cover up an asinine story line and overall bare bones sandbox title. I did love Contact on the DS though, which wasn't fully his game, but he was somewhat involved in.

@Magi It's like with most everything else, his games are for a niche crowd. I'm usually all about the small niche titles, but his games don't fit my personal appeal — mostly because of religious beliefs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing his games one bit, they just aren't for me.

I really do think it comes down to this: do you like grindhouse cinema? If so, Suda's games are for you. If not, they're not.

Has anyone preordered a game from Amazon before? I'm considering going that route for preordering Assassin's Creed 3.

I pre-ordered Portal 2 from Amazon. It came with a $20 credit which was a great bonus.

I've heard about Amazon doing those credits before, do they still do that?

I try to keep all of my preorders with Amazon and would highly recommend them. I've branched out to other retailers in the past (Gamestop, Toys R Us, and K-Mart) and there is always some kind of problem. (Newegg isn't bad either though). Occasionally, you'll get the pre-order credit from Amazon as well as 99cent release day shipping. Just like everyone else, they won't bill you until it ships. Once it does ship, you can track your order on their web site.

I pre-order all my games through Amazon. Granted there are very few games I think look good enough to warrant an immediate purchase, but I use Amazon nonetheless.

Got the Mass Effect 3 platinum trophy last night.

I have been playing nothing but Mass Effect 2 and 3 for about a month. I want to check out the new ending coming out Tuesday but after that it's time to move on to something else.

Anyone have experience gaming on a Playstation 3 with a Standard Def TV?

I don't have a lot of money to spend on this kind of stuff, and the TVs and computer monitors I have access to have nothing wrong with them beyond being old, so I'd prefer not to get rid of them.

I'm aware I'll be missing out on dem graphics (I can live with that) but the thing I really want to know is about unreadable text. Examples, GTAIV and Mass Effect 1 (X-Box 360) text is difficult but mostly readable, Mass Effect 2 text is completely unreadable because of the font colour. I can't remember what Final Fantasy XIII was, probably somewhere around readable or just readable.

Mostly want to know for:

• God of War
• Infamous
• Ratchet and Clank
• Sly Cooper
• Blazblue
• Uncharted
• Metal Gear Solid 4/HD

I play my PS3 on a standard def TV. Sometimes I do have a lot of trouble reading the smaller text, but the games that are unreadable are pretty rare.

Infamous text is fine on my TV I can read it pretty easily.

I'm not sure which ratchet and Clank you mean. I could read A Crack in Time absolutely fine, but in All 4 One the text was very small. Readable, but still small. However, the game didn't need much reading.

Uncharted 2 and 3 I can read fine. Except on the internet. When you switch to the online modes the text was hardly readable on my TV unless you sat very close.

I do not have the other games so I cannot tell you about them.

Hrm, I hadn't considered that different PS3/PSN Ratchet and Clanks wouldn't have the same text set-ups.

@ReleaseTheBears I wish I could help you out a bit more, but I'm unable too. I'm glad you're able to understand that graphics aren't everything and still enjoying the great games on HD systems though. Game on!

Woah! Crazy idea! What if Sega released Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1 and 2 from the Dreamcast for PS3? Sort of like how they re-released Sonic Adventure? That would make my life.

They're still making money on Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1-4 on PC in Japan. Just FYI, not to say it won't happen. I do think if they rereleased eps 1 & 2, people might start asking for a localization of Eisode 4, though.

So the new mass effect ending was released today. Im not sure why adding all this stuff was hard the first go around. There are still a few things i question but its good for the most part.

Still probably my favorite series this generation.
