Topic: Crazy Zelda Idea

BOTW’s story is pretty good for a Zelda game. Compared to the Witcher 3... not even close.

But it’s the gameplay and it’s world building that really sucked me in. I consider it the finest open world game of all time. Only HZD comes close in my opinion.

If we were to stick with BOTW current story and make a movie of it, it would be about 3 1/2 minutes long.

@damien33ad Just the memories (the parts we see) are over half an hour long in total. That doesn't include DLC.

Really? I thought was longer than that. I was just joking other comment. I think BOTW 2 will have three times the story length and after that game maybe we could see a movie that spans Age of Calamity then BOTW 1& 2. Maybe I should say should and not could because it ain't gonna happen

I'm fairly certain they're going to massively expand on the BotW lore in the upcoming sequel and prequel. It's clear Aonuma sees the potential of fleshing it out into a big arc.

Think of the prequel as The Golden Age saga from Berserk, the original game as the follow up and the sequel as the conclusion.

I wouldn't be surprised if they add elements to the story in the prequel which will be expanded upon in BotW2.

I can see BotW trilogy being a great animation, not a movie however.

@Varkster that's an interesting take tbh. An animation. That could end up happening. Agree 100% that AOC will do much for the BOTW story and BOTW 2 story will just blow all of us away no matter how seasoned we are with the Zelda franchise. I'm so excited for BOTW 2.

@damien33ad I have a lingering feeling that AoC will do more for the story of BotW 2 than BotW. This seems to be likely because Aonuma himself approached the team with hopes to expand on the lore of his heavy hitter.

But we have to wait and see, of course.
