The level I made is called "Piranhas are Red, Ice is Blue..."

The platforms are blue and red, and the enemies around them are those colors as well. The level can be medium difficulty or hard depending on what kind of power-up you have at the moment. Good luck!

Here's my Fire and Ice level. 126C-0000-004B-B3A9
I'm not expecting it to win, but hey, I'll give it a go.

@iBazly: I wasn't fast enough to unlock sub worlds which was a mandatory thing I needed in order to make the level I wanted to make. I'll still make the level when I can since I have a good idea I want to see in action. I'll take part in next one since I'll head back to my apartment tomorrow and I should have everything unlocked in few days.

It's its, not it's.

I'm submitting my 97* level because I feel it could fit in the original Super Mario World game and since this contest is Mario themed, who wouldn't want a bonus SMW level?

No tricks or gimmicks really. There's one pipe to lower level or stay on top for a slightly harder challenge. Can you find the hidden exit??

A Suggestion...

I had an additional thought regarding this that I wanted to run by everyone. In Super Mario Maker, when you view someone's level, you can tap their Mii to go to a profile. In the upper right corner there is a heart you can press to follow that person. This allows you to view all of their levels by going to the "Makers" section, and selecting the "Following" tab. Since there are 11 of us, with possibly more on the way, I thought it would be a good idea if we all followed each other so we could regularly play and star each other's levels. This could actually guarantee that we all get to high star levels! In fact, to get 150 stars to get your third medal, you need to have twenty levels posted that each get about 7 or 8 stars. That's pretty simple when you think about it, and there are already eleven of us who have submitted levels here! Of course, I'm not suggesting we just give each other stars for crappy levels, but at least by following each other we can create a solid group of level designers in this thread who, based on the levels that were submitted, I think are going to be dedicated for a while! Of course this is just a suggestion, not a requirement for participation.

Thanks for all of the submissions! The theme should also now be updated, as we are into a new week meaning a new theme! Voting for "Red and Blue" ends on Saturday, September 26th, at 11:59 PM EST, and submissions for the new theme are due by Sunday, September 27th, at 11:59 EST.

As for the new theme... I wanted to celebrate the North American release of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, as I am very excited for the game, and I thought... one major element of the Animal Crossing series is being able to dress up! Fortunately, that's part of Mario Maker as well, and so the new theme is Costume Fun! Make a level that uses costumes creatively or in a clever way! This also means that the level has to be in the Super Mario Bros. theme, since costumes don't work in the other themes. The submission deadline is September 27th, best of luck!

I played, finished and starred all the levels except iBazly's Swimming Through Spiky Seas, the ID is wrong.
MasterWario's Red in a Cool Blue's ID here is also wrong, but I already played his level because I noticed he had played mine. The 0041 in his ID is actually 0048.

EDIT: iBazly's level ID actually ends with 9741, not 9471. I'll play it next time I'm online in SMM.

Alright, so we had a lot of good levels this time around, but I'm going to have to vote for @iBazly 's Swimming Through Spiky Seas. The level design was really clean and felt the most polished.

Shout-out to @SuperWiiU for having a level that I thought was the most unique compared to the rest of us, although I wanted to mention I got to the part with the Boo in the ? block and couldn't figure out where to go from there.

EDIT: And thanks to SuperWiiU I'd like to point out again that my level code is actually BEED-0000-0048-EC8C. Bazly you also wrote "Voting for the theme "Red and Blue" is now CLOSED! Voting now begins"

Thanks, there's actually an arrow there pointing up to a pipe. Something will come out of that pipe.

iBazly

Sorry for the typos everyone! I fixed them up in both posts, so the right course IDs should be there now.

Also, @MasterWario, your post is literally exactly what my post was going to say, but about your level! Even the @SuperWiiU shout out. My vote is going to @MasterWario. I felt your level was very polished, and it also managed to do something that I didn't think was possible: make the Super Mario Bros. 3 pallette into something... attractive. I've been having a problem where I find that palette very unappealing overall, even though I love that game so much. Your level kind of showed me the light though and made me realize how good looking levels in that theme can be!

And similarly, I do want to give that same shout-out to @SuperWiiU. Your level was a lot of fun and really stood out style-wise. It was also really challenging, but in way that made me feel so proud when I finally completed it!

Thanks for the shout-out. I just completed @iBazly's level so I've now played and finished all levels too and my choice goes to @Zyrac's Cavern of Colour Contrast. Slightly similar to @MasterWario's level in both use of the theme and SMB3, but I just had a little more fun playing @Zyrac's level. It did feel like CoCC scrolled a little too slowly(I'm a fast player), but it didn't hurt the experience so much that I wanted to rate it lower.

I am currently still chasing 50 medals, but I only have 2 levels which have 7 or over stars. And other one is costume level, which uses costume in way that is possible only for costume characters. It was done at weekend before this announcement thought.

And I vote for Red or Blue by @Fink-Nottle.

Blue_Blur

Great levels, everyone!

It's a hard choice, but my vote goes to @crimsontadpoles! Your level is very challenging, but also fair.

@SuperWiiU, thanks for your vote. I did figure the slow scrolling speed wouldn't win me any points, but it still seemed like the best way to make the level work. Medium speed is actually kind of fast by Mario standards...

As poor of a strategic decision as it may be, I think my vote has to go to @MasterWario's Red in a Cool Blue.

As for this new theme... dibs on K.K. Slider!

I thought that something like that would be the reason, I haven't tried making scrolling levels yet so I don't know how big the difference between the three settings is.

I've reached my uploadlimit, so I probably won't enter this week. I'm only about half way to 50 stars, and I haven't had 25 plays in total the last few days, so I doubt I'll get there soon. My red and blue themed level wasn't even starred by everyone here who played it as I thought we were doing, so that doesn't help either.
