Topic: Why doesn't the Switch have a breakdown of hours played for each game?

How come the Switch doesn't have this amazing feature from the 3DS? I can't think of another system that has this, and I was let down that the Switch abandoned it for some reason. My Switch doesn't show any Play Activity at all on my profile where it's supposed to.

I agree, it‘s a tad annoying that they don‘t show the exact playtime but at least it‘s more than PS4‘s offering. Latter‘s not tellin a bit about playtime. Unsure about Xbox, just switching it on and booting up the game is enough from its home menu for me.

I could be wrong, but I think the parental control app keeps track of all that. Although if you’re over 18, it’d be ridiculous to set it up as if you were a kid, just to see your hours

Keep it PG-13-ish.

The Switch DOES keep track. That's why in the profile section you can see "played for 5 hours or more, 10 hours or more 15 hours or more etc etc" But it really is anyone's guess as to why we can't see most specific numbers and why there isn't simply a menu or activity log somewhere like there was on the Nintendo 3DS. The system has the information stored, there is just no convenient way to look at it.

It's a totally unneeded thing, but something I really think should be there and would like to have.

The parental controls app keeps track of that.

But, unfortunately, I think it starts the counter from the moment you've linked it with your Switch.

That's something that bugs me as well. A lot of times I equate value to hours of entertainment (there are exceptions to the rule), so I would like to know if i'm getting my money's worth.

PS4 doesn't show it unless the game itself tracks it, but Sony themselves tracks the playtime of it's users for every game (they send out a breakdown every now and then, if you are subscribed to the newsletter), but they don't let us see it for whatever reason.

I think the way the Switch does it is far more infuriating. 'Played for 5 hours or more', '...10 hours or more'... .
Well what is it exactly?! That's like me asking for directions and then being pointed into a general direction by someone that knows exactly where I need to go.

I don't like that you only get green after 50 hours. Some games don't have 50 hours. I want them in green, dammit!

Ok, officer, I'll come quietly.
