@Charbax everyone said the future was bluray- I'm sure in another decade Netflix will be like blockbuster.
Maybe, but for each year that goes by, with 100 million subscribers, Netflix has $10 Billion more to spend on investing in new TV shows, new movies, that's amounting to a huge lot of content..
I think YouTube is truly the future but I have also seen YouTube be very slow at enabling new monetization strategies on their platform and YouTube hasn't yet invested in any significantly good traditional style TV shows, movies or the like.
Its like staring into the mind of the most optimistic person on the planet on one heck of a concoction of looney juice. Simplistic mathematics, no understanding of licensing and intellectual properties, a belief of millions of willing customers popping out of nowhere, a fanciful belief that multiple companies with differing views, outlooks, plans, methods and such will just "play ball", etc, etc, etc.
I think 5 years of hibernation has restricted oxygen flow.
Nintendo is more likely to give its blessing for unrestricted emulation on 3rd party android tablets than swallow this mountain of balony; less they wanna choke on it.
