Topic: Where to start with the Switch eShop?

I haven't bought anything on it yet. But with literally hundreds of titles now, it is hard to sort the wheat from the chaff. I don't have time to sort through every review of them on Nintendolife. So I would be extremely grateful if you guys and gals would share your personal top 5 eShop recommendations.

Nothing above £10 though. I'm not prepared to spend more than that on a digital only title.

The best E-Shop titles imo are all around the €20 - €25 range. You're missing out on the best if you're not willing to spend a little more.

Well here's my personal top 5. The E Shop games that I play the most. I had a little trouble staying under budget, but I guess you can always wait for a sale. Fast RMX Racing @ £16.99. Rocket League £15.04. Stardew Valley @ £10.99. Rive Ultimate Edition @ £13.49. Steamworld Dig 2 @ £14.99. Special mention would also have to go to Steamworld Heist at £10.99 and the original Steamworld Dig @ £6.99.

Disregarding the price limit, I recommend Stardew Valley, Piczle Lines, Resident Evil Revelations (either one), Plantera and the Steamworld games.

I'm sure there's more great games besides those too.

Anyway let me move this to the switch forum.

And I would highly recommend looking into Celeste, Night in the Woods, OwlBoy, Shovel Knight and Steamworld Dig 2.

My favourites are Sonic Mania, Wulverblade, The Bridge, Wonderboy Dragon's Trap, if you want cheaper games there are some good retrogames for example Fatal Fury 3, Spin Master, Garou... I am waiting for Real Bout Fatal Fury Special it will be released soon and I really like it.

I agree with the general consensus here, you will need to spend a little more to get some decent titles. In the 10-20 bracket, I would personally recommend:

-Stardew Valley
-Flame in the Flood
-Radiation Island
-Golf Story
-Rocket League
-Snake Pass (divides opinion but I think a really original game with some challenging levels)

Agree with the consensus. You have to raise your limit, if only occasionally. Stardew Valley is not to be missed, unless you already have it on another platform. FAST RMX is also a great game that is worth every penny. You won't be sorry you raised your cap for either of those.

Most of the games I've purchased and loved are 4-player co-op games which are ports from the PC (All my favorite PC indie titles are coming to Switch and I've double dipped because it's so frikking convenient to hand people joy-cons and get them to join in):

Hammerwatch, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Moonlighter, CRAWL, 9 Parchments, Aegis Defenders

Stay safe, kids: Make sure to save frequently during multiplayer, and always use a stylus!

Hard to keep under budget here i’m afraid. I found out that it’s good to keep the ones you want on the watchlist and return often to see if they are on discount. But my top 5 are:
Mutant Mudds
SteamWorld Dig 1 & 2
Pankapu
Shu
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero

all of them are excellent side scrolling platformers that are nice to play in handheld mode. Don’t know if any of these are under budget though, but I guess pretty close..

This. Many of the cheaper games are gonna be mobile phone ports or very old or very small games.

So anyway, the 3 titles I overwhelming suggest from the eshop are Stardew Valley, Night in the Woods and Golf Story. I thought Sonic Mania got a physical release too, but if it didn't Sonic Mania as well.
