Cheats would be specifically chosen by the developer to help the game be more fun, easier or fairer without completely breaking the game. Basically, they are there to fix flaws of the original games even if they weren't originally flaws at the time of release. These can be turned on and off individually at any point in the game, although some games may disable some cheats in multiplayer mode.
SUPER MARIO BROS.

Of course, purists would hate such cheats, but the cheats wouldn't be for them. They don't have to use any of the cheats.
I just want it to be like it have always been, a collection of games that you can BUY individually and NOT a service that lets you play those games after you pay the online subscription. It would be not fair and it would made absolutely no sense at all that way.
I would even prefer to buy those games than having it as an online only service even if it was a free service for everybody, not just for the ones who pay subscription!!!
Imagine how much I hate the idea that it could become an online service only accessible for those who pay a subscription!
Other than that some games could benefit from some tweaks like the original Sonic was made slightly better in the 3DS version and it was great but Virtual console's purpose is different, it is just meant to let you play those games exactly as they were back then and the ability to save states is already a big help so I would not change anything.
Maybe it would be a good thing to sell NTSC - USA games even in Europe since back then PAL games were usually far worse in their quality.
I know one could make a new account just to buy NTSC games but I would prefer to keep every game on one account only
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
I would like a High Score Mode like the Neo Geo games have. Not all games have scoring of course but those that do need this mode. It adds so much to the old arcade games I think.
What new features do I want to see in the Switch's virtual console? How about "existence"? That is top of my list! As someone who only ever played other people's Nintendo systems while growing up, one of the big draws of getting a Switch for me was the chance to play and own some of those classics that I've missed along the way. In fact, I'm still really excited about it - though not so much about the NES games; more SNES and GBA.
Otherwise, save states and the ability to sped up emulation are all highly desirable; I really like the idea of shared high score tables; and I also prefer to pay for a download rather than subscribe to a streaming games service (though I would likely do both).
While we are on this subject, anyone know whether Nintendo actually confirmed VC will or will not come to Switch VC? They always give some vague statements that leave more questions than answers.
SGB compatible games should (finally) include that functionality as well, albeit optionally. GBC games should also be playable in GB mode, where possible.
Split-screen multiplayer would be amazing, but I wouldn't hold my breath. We didn't even get local multiplayer on the 3DS.
@Grumblevolcano
I hope they will bring the actual VC over. I was playing Earthbound the other day on the N3DS and was thinking to myself how awesome would it be if they put most of VC title on the Switch so we can play them anywhere. This is especially desirable given Nintendo seemed to have stopped putting NES and SNES games on 3DS VC.
. Add a rewind function/quick save or load button function.
. Make the games a tad cheaper, (you're already paying for online service so........)
. Add an a weekly online tournament for the leaderboards i.e get a high score or complete a certain section of the game the fastest.
. Add in CRTV, scanlines and screen size options like in NES Classic (add in Super game boy style borders for a bonus )
Do one or two of those things and it will make the virtual console worth the wait and make the oh-so-inevitable gap between virtual console releases more palpable. Just adding in a online multiplayer feature (did you know there's going to be an online multiplayer feature for virtual console games?) just isn't enough.
SO FAR.....The snes classic has gotten borders and a rewind function. A sign of things to come.
Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.

A remake of the game genie would be perfect for you then.
