The Switch sales have been so strong in terms of hardware, I think Rockstar would have to have some seriously catastrophic leadership problems going on if they had skipped the Switch with what is a basic port of a 360/PS3 game.
The only reason GTAV isn’t getting ported is due to the majority of the income from that game being generated from the online portion. The Switch wouldn’t likely be able to cope with the online side of things so it was skipped.

Hope this is not totally wrong thread...
New sale started on the Nintendo eShop US with over 500 discounted games. I have spotted deals on SnipperClips, BioShock, Mario Tenis Aces and more
There are a few threads where this could go, but this is the everything Switch thread so it works here too. Since the eShop essentially always has more than 1,000 games on sale, it's kind of hard to notice useful sales, but actual Nintendo games on sale is always a bit interesting. Although Snipperclips is amongst the most ignored of Nintendo's children...

And I find it my civic duty to remind people that Pokemon alternatives on Switch exist.
Monster Hunter Stories 2 is out now, can be had on sale (usually) and its freaking outstanding. Addictive gameplay loop, the best monster designs of any video game in the genre and date back 2 decades, and immaculate art style. Won't be dealing with the horrendous pop-in you get in Pokemon, and the performance is much better too (though the unlocked framerate can cause some brief stutters in a few locations throughout the game, so it's not perfect).
Shin Megami Tensei V is out now and also exceeds expectations. It's darker and definitely a more mature take on the formula but, my goodness... is it fun. Far more interesting gameplay loop than Pokemon ever was imo, the multiple-decades-long established "monster" designs are peak Atlus, and the art style is remarkably appealing. No 5 foot pop-in here, and it's a nice, stable experience compared to Pokemon.
Dragon Quest Monsters: Dark Prince releases on either the 1st or 2nd day of December (so a little less than 4 months from now). The DQM games are always quality. Solid, reliably fun gameplay loop, great established monster designs dating back multiple decades, and a nice cartoon art style. And of course, you won't be dealing with the constant pop-in from 5 feet away you see in Pokemon, and I'm fairly certain the framerate will be far more stable as well. On DS we only got the DQM Joker spinoff series, and on 3DS the DQM Terry's Wonderland remake was never released outside of Japan (though there is an English patched version if you have a modded 3DS). It's been a long time since we got a mainline Dragon Quest Monsters entry. Speaking of which, this is actually officially "Dragon Quest Monsters 3" in Japan. Not sure why they changed the name to "Dragon Quest Monsters: Dark Prince" in the west. Probably a marketing tactic so as to not turn anyone away.

The developer of Nexomon 3 promised the third game will be 3D Open World style.
If Nexomon 3 deliver better game quality than Pokemon Scarlet / Violet, it will put a shame on TPC and Gamefreak.
We will see once the game released.
Anyone else feels like Nintendo Switch has some of the best games of most Nintendo franchises?
Xenoblade 3, Metroid Dread, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Pikmin 4, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Super Smash Bros Ultimate,... all are the best games of their respective franchises, imo. I wasn't personally a big fan of Super Mario Odyssey, but I have a feeling Super Mario Wonder might reach Super Mario World levels of greatness. And while Breath of the Wild didn't work for me either, I can see why most call it, or its sequel, the best Zelda ever.
The Nintendo Switch truly has a lot of amazing games.

Not really for me.
Only ACNH and ARMS are the best from Nintendo Switch for me.
1-2-Switch games, Mii games, Style Savvy, Nintendogs are also my choice.
I personally still have less interest with other 1st party Switch games like Kirby, Pikmin, Star Fox, etc as I didn't grew by those franchises.
I still have some interest with Mario and Pokemon games despite I rarely played them as I have very low hype to play their games frequently.
Well, I grew up by 3rd party games since teenager so I prefer playing 3rd party games more than 1st party Nintendo games.
I think the question was just for Nintendo franchises? Personally I would put Kirby and the Forgotten Land unequivocally best Kirby, but I suspect plenty of people might disagree.
MK8 Deluxe with DLC, Smash ultimate, ACNH are definitely in strong contention for best in their franchises, with arguably nostalgia the biggest competitor.
For the smaller series like Pikmin with only a few games and most of those games on Switch, saying the best one is on Switch isn't saying much. 😅 Switch definitely has the best game in the ARMS franchise!
The sports related games (Mario and otherwise) I would say aren't the best on Switch.
In general Switch definitely has great games on Switch in almost all their main franchises though.
I think it depends on whether you look at currently available or was available at some point in the past. Like I'd definitely say Wii U has a better Metroid collection than Switch by far but if you bought a Wii U now, it would be a worse collection because of the eshop closure:
Switch - Metroid, Metroid II, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Dread, Metroid Prime Remastered
Wii U (before the eshop closure) - Metroid, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Metroid Zero Mission, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Metroid Prime Hunters, Metroid Other M
Wii U (after the eshop closure) - Metroid Prime Trilogy, Metroid Other M
I imagine this'll change in the next year or so as I don't see Nintendo releasing Prime 4 before bringing Prime 2 and 3 to the Switch. Meanwhile Zero Mission is a likely candidate for NSO.
I already made a topic about it but... it didn't turn out well, so I'm asking here again: does anyone else feel like Switch's games get WAYAYAYAY too much hate? I'm honestly starting feeling like if I'm the only non-Japanese person in the world who loves the Switch and its games...

lol if you think its bad now, you wouldn't have survived mid-era Wii discussions. Miserable discussions, partially because most of the great games on Wii were niche, partially because of a perfect mix of so called hardcore gamers praising the most mainstream and mid Xbox games as somehow the most hardcore game ever and a humiliating dislike of anything "too Japanese".
People will whine on the internet, but by and large most people like the Switch and most of the complaints don't actually matter, even to most of the people making it. Like if people are gonna buy a Mario sports games every single time, over 7 billion other games they could be playing, they don't get to act shocked when it isn't the most feature complete Nintendo game ever. If they're that hopelessly addicted to buying Nintendo games and ignoring all context, its a personal problem at that point. And those are the games with at least clear issues, most other things are just unending Ws for Nintendo, like they're Marvel in phase 3.

I mean... no? I don't think there is all that much hate. Animal Crossing New Horizons and Breath of the Wild are a couple of the most beloved games of a generation. Lots of other Switch games have lots of love also.
A bunch of 30 year olds complaining about e.g. some new Pokemon game doesn't mean there aren't umpteen millions of children and also non-forum-trolling adults who love it.
