@skywake I'm in the same camp as @Ralizah myself; I don't really want to use Twitter share for screenshots/videos, but when the Send To Smartphone method literally crashes my system almost every time I try to use it, it's not like I really have any better option if I want to store my Switch files XD
Hey everyone, hope you're all doing well. Is there a way to improve the image quality of Switch screenshots? They seem to be compressed quite a bit so the image quality isn't very good.

Yeah, count me in as another who doesn't want Twitter to implode as I use it to share my Switch & PS screenshots on sites like this & Push Square.
I don't really use Facebook (& it's affiliated apps like Instagram & Threads), but I do have an account to rarely catch up with extended family, so I wouldn't want to clog up anyone's feed with a bunch of random video game screenshots.

@GrumblevolcanoThe one night I go to bed early is the one night they announce my most anticipated Game Boy games huh XD
I'm so happy though; I've been waiting for the Oracle games to release for ages as I absolutely love 2D Zelda so I'll definitely be playing through these whenever possible!
Oh and one small question: what does the 'Game Link' actually do? I'm wondering whether or not I'd have to play through both at the same time in order to get the 'full' experience or if I can just take my time and make my way through one (probably Ages if I had to choose) and then start the other afterwards.

Someone a week or two ago said Nintendo wasn’t done with Zelda this year. And we get two of the most underrated Zelda games on NSO.
Pretty excited to play these because I only played Ages and didn’t finish it. I’ll be playing these and might still be playing them when I fly next month.
A Summer sale focused around multiplayer games (dubbed the 'Multiplayer Festival') was just announced earlier on today (at least for UK/Europe).
It's a ton of the stuff you'd come to expect for sales of this nature; Gold Points bonuses, discounts on select titles and even some Game Trials will apparently be happening near the end of the month which all sounds very enticing.
I myself am particularly interested in the fact that Animal Crossing New Horizons will be going on sale for presumably €40 (if previous Nintendo trends are anything to go by) since it'll actually be it's first ever digital sale according to Deku Deals. I've wanted to get ACNH pretty much since it came out and was originally going to grab it in mid-2020 only to end up snubbing it for Splatoon 2 instead (the 100% correct call for the time I might add) so it'd be nice to finally right a nearly 3-year-old wrong this time round
@Fizza Interesting. It has surprised me how long Nintendo has held out with Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the eshop. I've been tempted to double dip on it to have a digital copy, but would never allow myself at full price. Wonder if this will change things...
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
The fact we haven't seen a final revision (such as Lite OLED) announced this July indicates to me a successor is likely on track for 2024. They could announce a revision in August, I suppose. We'll see. But, at least right now, it's looking more and more like next year is the one.

@JaxonH Nintendo need to provide good games for both Switch and it sucessor, they cant simpy here 2024/2025 or later launch the Switch sucessor and Switch stop having games, the console need to be suported for 3/ 4 more years, when Switch sucessor is in the market, to show dont worry, we are not gonna abandon the huge user base of Switch, it sucessor is out in year X, but the Switch will stil get games 3/4 more years, that how you do a good transiction for your next hardware.
@Giancarlothomaz
There are plenty of games that not only don't need but would be unable to use the additional power of new hardware. If this new hardware has BC I can imagine we'll continue to see content for the Switch appear for far longer than you'd see for console transitions. Even before you consider the install base

@skywake Switch sucessor leap in power will be a Game Cube to Wii kinda of power, everyone expect Switch sucessor to be a SNES to N64 or Wii to Wii U leap, theres will not be a signicant jump in power, only a modest one.
@Giancarlothomaz
ehh, I don't like to compare the generations like that. Especially going back to the SNES/N64 eras because the "graphical jumps" were less about speed and more about different graphical modes. Something that doesn't really apply to anything beyond the GC era
Also the GC -> Wii jump was basically non-existent. In many respects the gap between the Switch docked and undocked is greater than the gap between GC and Wii. The New 3DS, GBC and DSi were all bigger jumps than the GC to Wii. The Wii U -> Switch was a fairly similar transition in this regard. This new hardware though? It's going to be a significantly larger jump than that. The closest comparison would be something along the lines of 360 -> XBOne, that's basically what we're going to be getting here
With that said, and repeating my point above, there are plenty of games that don't need any more power at all. Think of a game like New SMB, what's the difference between that game on Wii and Wii U? Resolution, obviously, 1080p output. What's the difference between it on the Wii U and Switch? Nothing really. What would it gain if you played it on a PS5? ..... pretty much nothing. There are plenty of games like that
Infact if I went down the list of Switch best sellers I'd argue that these games wouldn't gain anything from new hardware:
Mario Party
New SMB
Ring Fit
Switch Sports
3D All Stars
Mario Maker
Metroid Dread
DKC:TF
These games are borderline, could use it but don't desperately need it:
Smash Bros
Mario Kart
Splatoon
Animal Crossing
Pokemon, the more 2D ones
3D World
Link's Awakening HD
These games would gain a lot:
BotW/TotK
Odyssey
Pokemon (Arceus, Scarlet/Voilet)
Luigi's Mansion
Still plenty of games they could release that wouldn't be gimped at all remaining on Switch. Especially if the new hardware has BC, even more if that BC is seamless

@skywake I mostly agree with you, but I think some of the games you listed like Metroid Dread can benefit from improved lighting, though that's something that's not really necessary and more of just a superficial thing.
Games that suffer from dynamic resolution and inconsistent frame rates are what would benefit the most from extra power. Games like Three Houses and the Xenoblades for example.
