So with the final Sparks of Hope DLC coming August 30th, that leaves the remaining known DLC without release dates being:

  • MK8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass wave 6
  • Splatoon 3 Side Order
  • Pokemon Scarlet/Violet DLC (both parts)

XCDE and XC3 soundtracks are now available via places like iTunes. XCX soundtrack is still missing but the game is still missing from the Switch so no surprises there.

@Giancarlothomaz Confirming new hardware before the holiday season for something releasing in late 2024? That'd be silly.

@Ralizah Totally agree. This isn’t a Sony and Microsoft situation where the sales had dropped off significantly enough that they can start talking about the next generation a year ahead of release.

Hey folks, just looking for a little bit of clarification regarding certain Switch games as I might be grabbing one or two tomorrow: how do used games work on Switch? Does it remember the previous owner's data or does it just wipe it clean? I've been seeing a ton of great deals on games like Ring Fit Adventure, TMNT Shredder's Revenge and Live A Live just to name a few and I'd be over the moon if I could get them without having to worry about any conesquences

@Fizza
Switch Save data games are not stored inside the cartridge, unlike 3DS and NDS so you will start fresh a new from the games you bought, brand new or used games.

Ring Fit Adventure is my recommendation.

@Fizza Yeah, game save data is stored exclusively on switch internal memory, not on the game cards. So, you'll start a fresh new game, even if you buy a used game.

Since your game save data is on switch internal memory, it's like the switch doesn't care where the game comes from, digital or physical. When you go to boot up the game, the switch makes you pick which Switch User (aka game save profile) you want to open the game with.

So, if you lose a physical game and get another physical copy (buy one or borrow a friend's copy) or buy the game digitally, you'll always resume your game where you left off, because the game save data is kept on the switch internal memory.

Just wanted to speak my piece about the Switch's successor. Assuming it does come out in late 2024, I'll likely get it the year after that. Particularly if it doesn't launch with the next 3D Mario or even the next Mario Kart. Those are huge system sellers for me, and most of the Nintendo platforms after the DS didn't launch with a Mario game of some kind. Only the Wii U stood out since it launched alongside New Super Mario Bros. U. So, I'll likely just stick with the Switch until Mario's next adventure comes out on Nintendo's next console.

I would be surprised if it didn't have Mario on release. Nintendo makes Mario games every year and it would be a little weird to put all the 2024 Mario on Switch 1 rather than waiting for Switch 2. They've had plenty of time to make a new 3D game and they don't have a huge Zelda game for Switch 2 launch, so it makes tons of sense for for there to be 3D Mario.

2025 is Mario 40th anniversary so I could imagine them saving a big Mario game for 2025 also, but my personal guess would be 3D Mario on release and new Mario Kart in 2025 (with 2025 also getting 3D all stars deluxe and maybe Mario Maker 3 in 2025 or early 2026). It's possible Mario Kart and 3D Mario could be the other order I suppose.

Let's look at launch titles for home consoles:

SNES - Mario
N64 - Mario
Gamecube -Luigi
Wii -Zelda
Wii U - Mario
Switch - Zelda

Since Zelda as the main launch title seems a little unlikely, gotta be Mario. Unless the Peach game ends up being the launch title. 🤔 That would be quite surprising.

My Pyra and mythra amiibos got taxed by Correios (Brazilian public shipping system). Now i have to pay 40$ for a product that isn't even being sold by Brazilian companies.

@FishyS Yeah, this year already got Tears of the Kingdom, and the Zelda team's likely taking a break or brainstorming ideas for their next game. So if the next Nintendo console comes out next year, it would indeed make perfect sense to launch it with a Mario game of some kind. A 3D Mario game launching alongside the Switch 2 (or whatever they wanna call it) would be huge! Hopefully that would happen since that would ensure that their next console would have a good start in terms of its sales.
