@Professor_Plumber I'd rather spend $30 on some cheap (but quite good imo) over-ear headphones than pay full price for Hey Pikmin.

@Professor_Plumber then again... I have only played the Demo of 3 Deluxe... I was waiting for the ports of 1 and 2 so my dream did some true.

I just bought a complete The Beatles Rock Band Wii set and I'm gonna be legit broke for a while (but it was worth it).

@Owl1 you gotta get into pikmin. I haven’t finished 1 or 2, but I played them both on Wii and man they are fun. The HD versions will also probably play like the GC versions without the whole aiming the Wiimote and throwing it across the room when you are stuck and don’t know what to do

@TheBigBlue I got a backlog calling me... DQ 11... (I know these games are great, Arlo has ticked that box)

Christmas it is then.

@Professor_Plumber it was a steal of a deal tho... It had the dongle (they are legit super $$$ to find with a guitar) and the game for the same price as one guitar.

Plus from what I heard, Rock Band is quite zen and calming.

@Professor_Plumber speaking of Animal Crossing, I feel next year we could get a tease for the next game.

@Professor_Plumber Animal Crossing DLC for Splatoon confirmed.

I have a "theory" for the Switch 2...

Batman Arkham Trilogy is being developed by Turn Me Up, the guys responsible for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1/2 and Borderlands on Switch.

So ya. It's in very good hands. These games are gonna be fabulous on Switch

I wish WB would release the two Arkham Origins games. They're not bad, but they're not better than the original trilogy. Still, worth a shot, in my opinion.

The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

I’m gonna have to cut myself off from new releases next year. Too many games came out this year. I’ve never been this far behind on releases before. Pretty much gonna have to empty out both wishlists. Will have to focus purely on Switch purchases. Looks like I am not getting Spiderman 2 this year after all.

Do you realize we're gonna have both the infamous Mario x Squaresoft RPG crossover, Super Mario RPG, as a modern remake, and the ever-underrated Mario x Ubisoft strategy crossovers, Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope, all on one system- an HD hybrid handheld that lets you play on the TV as a home console, in handhand as a... well, handheld, and in tabletop as a portable console experience.

That's just epic. It's freaking epic. 20 years from now gamers are gonna look back on this system as the GOAT. It's easy to take for granted when you're in the thick of it but we're currently experiencing a historic generation. Soak it up.

@MsJubilee
Arkham Origins was pretty good. I never beat it. I know a lot of people don't really count it with the others but, I think it's good enough to be considered among the others, even if it's the somewhat weaker link.

The 2D one was kinda meh though. Definitely not bad, just not "gloriously epic" like the mainline Arkham games.

@GameOtaku
I was pretty sick yesterday (headache, dispnea, stomachache) so I couldn't make summary about Nintendo Direct clearly.
I will revised my thought about Nintendo Direct yesterday.

Rhythm gonna hit your head.

Ralizah

Glad this Direct didn't add much to my pile of upcoming day one games. Basically just Super Mario RPG, since there's no point in waiting for a sale, and I've never played it before.

Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition

Pikmin 1/2 has gyro aiming!!!

Holy cow, I didn't even realize it, but it does! Toggle it on in the in-game pause settings on day 2. Only active while holding A or B to throw or call Pikmin. Works in tandem with left analog.

This changes everything

I may even have to put Zelda on the back burner for a bit. I'm in the Pikmin hype bubble

Also, SwitchUp already has a review out.

Any guess whether pikmin 4 will have the oh so wonderful starve-to-death mechanic? Being punished for having a bad sense of direction by starving to death was my least favorite aspect of pikmin 3.

I highly recommend people go onto the eShop and watch the Super Mario Bros Wonder trailer at least twice on the big screen (or Switch screen) and really take it all in.

I think my hype for this game is approaching DKC Tropical Freeze. Levels unheard of for a 2D platformer, such that I have only experienced one time since I got back into gaming in 2012.

The stunning animations, the dynamic backgrounds, the insane diversity in gameplay and unexpected elements, the charm... this game is doing for me what DKC Tropical Freeze did all those years ago. Granted, I didn't cry at the trailer like I did for Tropical Freeze, but I'm much more emotionally blunted than I used to be. And, this one took a few watches for it's magnitude of epicness to really start sinking in.

@FishyS
You mean the fruit juice?

There is fruit in the game so maybe, but... there was never any real threat in Pikmin 3. Fruit was so abundant, and each fruit gave multiple glasses... even a blindfolded monkey could find a day's worth of juice each day to keep going. I found, on average, 3 per day, and I take my time exploring. I think I had 46 spare days worth of fruit juice when I finished the game. It didn't matter which way you went, where you ended up, there was fruit nearby. And the Pikmin automatically took it back to the ship/onion so you didn't even need to look at the map (but there was also a map, a very good one actually).

I don't imagine it's going to be a problem. These games are designed with a theoretical threat to instill tension, but there's not any real actual threat.

Demo will be out next Tue though.

@JaxonH I guess Im a blind-folded monkey then? I certainly managed to starve to death. Everything else in the game seemed easy, but the starvation got me and made the game less fun for me. If it's not 'supposed' to kill you it just seems like unnecessary punishment to certain play styles. I suppose I'll try the demo of the new game though.
