@JaxonH On the plus side you can still exercise with a broken toe by switching to free weights. A few weeks doing deadlifts and skullcrushers will have you jacked enough that the Zelda box will take one look at you and will think twice about starting something again!

I broke a toy recently at work. Well, the joint connecting the toe to the foot.

I broke it again today at work. What a week of firing people and audits and injuries will do to a man.

Is Zelda out yet? Might go into a pain killer fueled sleep until it is

Zelda is getting close.

But, we have a brief Advance Wars intermission between now and then. Bout time this game releases. It feels like it's been delayed for nearly 2 years altogether now.

I decided to re-download Bayonetta 1 and Wonderful 101 to have the full Platinum collection available, and FFX/X-2, FFXII, XC1 and XC2, even though I've beaten them all. Idk. Just like having my favorite games at the ready. Probably won't replay the JRPGs any time soon (though I have yet to play FFX-2 so maybe I'll put that on the to-do list). I have beaten Wonderful 101 three times though- it's a game I may come back to at some point. It's just fun.

@Ralizah
Its actually the first time I've broken a bone in my body my entire life.

@jump
I've still been walking, but wear house slippers for protection and shift weight. I swear I've stumped my toe on that blasted thing at least 3 times before. This time it got me good though.

@Haruki_NLI
Yikes... so I'm guessing it was healing when it broke again?

@JaxonH Yeah I dropped a steel retaining bar for our shelving on my foot last Thursday on it right on the joint, predictably right behind where the steel toe cap stops existing in my boots, and I spent a day or two limping.

Still a bit tender, and then today, a 6 pack of 2ltr bottles lands on my foot in the same place. So back to limping. Roll on games to play when im not breaking my body in retail.

@JaxonH just a observation to measure the third party suport on Nintendo Switch and problaby it next hardware, only games financied by Nintendo like Bayonetta 2 e 3 stay exclusives, the rest is timed exclusives

@Giancarlothomaz It's important to be able to spot these patterns so people make the decision that's right for them. If your favourite platform is PS5 or PC then you're best off waiting for Switch 3rd party exclusivity to expire.

Meanwhile Switch owners have figured out that plenty of games get ported to Switch late so that those whose favourite platform is Switch double dip. Now those people are less likely to fall for that and just wait for the inevitable Switch port.

Exclusive, timed exclusive, multiplat...

Doesn't make a split of difference. The game being on Switch- that's what matters. Not sure what all this talk of timed exclusivity has to do with anything, or how it's relevant in the slightest.

When you "measure" 3rd party support, categorizing it by exclusivity is nonsensical. A game is a game is a game. Whether it's only on Switch, or gets ported to another system later, that doesn't change the 3rd party support of Switch, nor does it affect the game on Switch itself.

Anyone who only values 3rd party games that are purely exclusive and remain purely exclusive is an idiot. A game is a game is a game. What difference does it make if some other system gets a port years later?

Like, this statement right here:

only games financied by Nintendo like Bayonetta 2 e 3 stay exclusives, the rest is timed exclusives

And??? So what if that's the case? Only games financed by Sony stay exclusive on PS, and even then most of their financed games still get ported to PC. Same is true for Xbox. You're saying this as if it somehow matters in some way. Who gives a crap how many games "stay exclusives"

"Man I'm really excited for this game coming to Switch!"

"Ya but you know it'll get ported to another platform in 2025"

"Aw man, forget this game then, it's not a pure exclusive, guess I'll find something else to get excited for"

Lol like, what??? Why on earth would it matter how many 3rd party games stay pure exclusives?

If you buy a console for exclusives, but prefer to play your games elsewhere when possible, it makes sense to care.

I'll freely admit, at this point, that I could have passed on the PS4, since all of the games on it I care about have migrated to platforms I prefer. But I had no way of knowing that at the time I bought it, since it was still common until recently for third-party games to remain exclusive to certain platforms.

If someone feels that way about Switch (and many do), it makes sense to only use it to play games you know won't hit some other console you prefer down the road.

Currently Playing: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (PC); Unicorn Overlord (NS)

@Ralizah
I'm not saying there aren't reasons to care, but that wasn't the argument he was making.

The argument he put forth was that it matters in "measuring 3rd party support", and said it as if because a game might get ported down the line, it has less inherent value and thus should "count less", as if the library's value is determined by how many games other people can't play elsewhere.

The fact most games eventually get ported is self-evident. We all see it, all the time, on every console across the board. And if someone prefers playing games elsewhere and wants to wait, that's fine and well. Go do that. But that's not what he was articulating.

It's like saying it's Friday. Yes... that's true, it is indeed Friday, but why is that relevant? A game doesn't have less inherent value just because it may get ported to another platform at some unknown date in the future.

But, even accepting the premise a 3rd party library's value depends on exclusivity, that still neglects the fact there's never a guarantee. It could just see a port to Xbox and PC but not PS (Octopath Traveler), so if you were waiting on a PS release you're SOL, or just PS and PC but not Xbox (Octopath Traveler II), so if you were waiting on an Xbox release you're SOL, or just PC but no other consoles (Triangle Strategy), so if you were waiting on a PS or Xbox release you're SOL, or nothing at all (SMTV), so you're just flat out SOL. Furthermore, there would still be value in the game's exclusivity until it ended. The day may come that changes, but until then, it would retain that value. Not to mention, all Switch games exclusively offer the trybrid advantage, which is never lost.

Not that I agree with that premise in the first place. When we discuss value of the Switch library, it would seem logical to me that we're referring to value in the eyes of those who actually want to play games on Switch. Judging a library's worth from the perspective of those who don't want to play games on Switch... that just seems counterintuitive.

If one were, for example, to judge the PS/Xbox library from the perspective of someone who doesn't want to play games on PS/Xbox, they would have virtually no value at all, as nearly everything, including their biggest 1st party games, are no longer exclusive, and we can be reasonably confident all their biggest "exclusives" this gen will release on PC at the very least. But is it really fair to look at the thousands of games in those libraries and say they have no worth because they're not technically exclusive? Doesn't seem right to me. There's insane value in those libraries. I may not personally perceive value for me because I don't want to play on those systems, but my personal perception of value for me shouldn't be used as an objective assessment for declaring the library's inherent worth.

@Magician Thank you for clarifying your view about Mato Anomalies' performance on Switch. Agreed that texture pop in isn't that big a deal when it comes to turn based RPGs. The input lag, depending on how noticeable it ends up being, doesn't sound too irritating overall hopefully. Nice to know that the Switch version doesn't really lag when it comes to moving around the character and exploring the areas.

King of Fighters XIII is coming to Switch. They mention rollback in the trailer which is weird when they specifically skipped Switch version of Samurai Shodown when it came to its rollback update. I'm also looking forward to new Fatal Fury which they've now teased couple of times.

It's its, not it's.

That was the last sprite based entry, right?

Perfect fit for Switch. Will look good and run well both docked and handheld. I'm sure XIV and XV will eventually land on Switch 2, so this is a good choice for Switch imo.

What's the deal with joy-con stock in the UK? I've looked at several retailers, and they have either nothing at all, or very limited stock (usually just one choice of colours). Even the official store has nothing.
