Odyssey is climbing the UK eshop charts fast even though there's no sale there (only physical got a sale). Seems like the Mario movie Switch bundle (Switch v2 + Mario Odyssey code + Mario movie sticker sheet) is rather popular.

@Giancarlothomaz @Colonel_Mustache Ahh yes, the idea Nintendo could somehow market and support 2 HD consoles, when they could barely support 1 HD console (Wii U) and 1 SD console (3DS). If Sony struggling with PS4 & Vita didn’t prove it impossible I dunno what will. By the way I didn’t watch the videos but I’m guessing that’s what they are expecting going by the response.

@Colonel_Mustache I’m not sure what they have against 1 system? Why do they want 2? Is it because it’s always been that way so it should stay that way or is it because they want PS5 specs?

@FragRed Nintendo should aim for new concept for it next hardware, that what the second video i posted talkt about, staying hybrid for it next hardware, will actualy harm Nintendo, everyone will think Nintendo next hardware is a another model of Switch but more powerful, exactly what happened with Wii U, with many people trough Wii U was a acessory for Wii, we dont want the Nintendo Switch sucessor been mistaken as another model for Nintendo Switch isnt it?

@Giancarlothomaz That never stopped 3DS being a successor of DS or GBA being a successor of GB or heck any PlayStation successor other than power.

I don't see them ever ditching the hybrid design but maybe they could release a docked only version as a 2nd/3rd sku.

I imagined the next Switch machine probably have dual screen and it called Nintendo HDS.

@Magician How well did Mato Anomalies run when you were playing it on your Switch? I have that game also but haven't opened it yet since I was unsure of how well it performs on the Switch.

Ya know, this 1.5 TB micro SD has already paid dividends.

Obviously I wanna keep a few hundred GB extra space for the remaining games launching in the tail end of the Switch life cycle, but I did re-download about 120 GB worth of archived games that had, up until now, been kept on backup micro SD cards.

I now have all Assassin's Creed games downloaded instead of just Ezio Collection (didn't have room for all, which sucked because I was half way through Black Flag, but if there's only room for one I wanted it to be Ezio since it starts the story).

Also re-downloaded South Park Fractured But Whole, which is grid based strategy rather than turn based rpg like the first, and someone here swears it's a masterpiece so I've been wanting on the main SD. I fired it up and played a bit, and also remembered I got the season pass, so I'm good to go.

Also re-downloaded Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. With Rise and Sunbreak I made the decision to archive, but... It's a game close to my heart, and one I genuinely might play again.

And I re-downloaded L.A. Noire. It's been 5 years since I first played it at launch, and I gotta say, I really dig this game. It's so unique, and the story really grabs you. I could never afford the 27 GB file size, but now I can, and I'm better for it. Already had some fun tonight playing it, a game I otherwise never would have touched again.

Contra Collection was another. I really like Contra! I grew up playing it on SNES, but I'd forgotten how much fun it is.

Also, Persona 5 Strikers. I love me some Persona, but with Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal I had to make some cuts. Well... not anymore. I love Strikers, and it now has the privilege of rejoining the fold.

Storage space = more games at the ready = more unique experiences to be had = more fun. Ironic how something as simple as a larger micro SD can daisy chain into having more fun.

Might re-download some games I've beaten like Bayonetta 1, Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101 (which I've beaten twice), just to have all Platinum Games at the ready. May also spend 100 GB on re-downloading Final Fantasy X/X-2, Final Fantasy XII, Xenoblade HD and Xenoblade 2, all lengthy JRPGs I beat on Switch, but they're some of my faves, and I just like the idea of them being downloaded and secured. Then again, it may be wiser to skip large file size JRPGs I've beaten since it's unlikely I'll replay them, unlike an action game.

@theepictorkoal The Switch version ran slightly rough. With texture pop-in and mild input lag that usually comes with most Switch ports. But since the game is a turn-based rpg both are inconsequential. I've played worse on the platform.

???

Highly doubt that. Switch successor will run any RE game thrown at it, guaranteed. It's not like games won't be optimized for it. Just look at what devs have got running on Switch so far.

Can't even count how many "this struggles on system X, no way Switch could run it!" games there have been, then when they release on Switch running just fine everyone's like... oh.

Of course there are limits, and if you were talking current Switch, I'd agree. But the successor? Not a chance. If SteamDeck can run it (and it absolutely can) Switch 2 will be able to run it.

I promise you, Switch 2 will get the entire slew of RE games that couldn't run on Switch. Every single last one of them. Take that to the bank.

@Colonel_Mustache
They are. The biggest games on Switch are typically about 30 GB or just under. Most of them are 20 GB, and the average file size is closer to 12-15 GB (not counting Nintendo games which are smaller). And many, many games fall in the 5-10 GB range.

Expext that to double with Switch 2 though. We'll probably see average file size increase to 25-30 GB, with large games hitting 50-60 GB, and smaller games hitting 10-20 GB.

Even then, file sizes will still be half the size of other platforms. But it does mean larger storage is desperately needed for the next gen Switch. I imagine I'll keep a spare micro SD just for Switch games running BC, and have a separate micro SD for Switch 2 games.

@JaxonH @Colonel_Mustache Nintendo Switch have it own version of RE Engine, Capcom can easily upgrade/update this engine, to allow the Nintendo Switch sucessor to run RE4 remake and future games Capcom have in mind for the console, in the case of game file/size, first we need to know how much storage the Nintendo Switch sucessor is gonna have when it release, is gonna have 64/128GB od storage? will the Nintendo Switch sucessor have a similar tecnology to PS5 SDD, plus as everyone is tired to know, Nintendo is king of file compression, i agreed in what JaxonH said that games like Metroid Prime 4 and future Legend of Zelda game will have a file of 50-60GB and more smaller games having file sizes of 10-20GB, and i hope because Nintendo Switch sucessor games will have file size between 20 to 60GB, the console have a storage capacity of 128GB or at least 64GB and finaly is rumored that in handheld mode the Switch sucessor will be 2 Teraflops, a significant jump to the 0.93 Teraflops the Switch in handheld mode have
