This past weekend was a dandy. Played through Ruiner, which is a really good twin-stick action game. I also put a couple hours into Wreckfest, which I would put up there right next to Grid as one of the best simulation / arcade racers on the platform, the Switch port is solid. And...I've tried but...I just can't, the original release of Resident Evil 4 just isn't for me.
It's a situation similar to the original release of Metroid Prime, the control scheme.
Single analog stick controls in a 3D action game is no bueno.
Lack of Joy-Con availability is probably to do with Nintendo's legal battles over Joy-Con drift. Now they have to repair it for free in more regions even if out of warranty:
Six years and likely over a thousand hours into playing my Switch and I've been lucky enough not to have had drift. I have switched between multiple pairs over the years though.
However, my issue at the moment is that my right joy-con is prone to sliding out of the rail (i.e. it doesn't lock in properly)...anyone experienced this and know of a quick fix?
@Buizel
Your latch wore down. I got mine swapped out for aluminum latches that won't wear down rubbing against plastic.
For $15 you can get them replaced, including cost of shipping to and from.
Select "Alloy Slider Buckles" from the drop down. I've had this guy replace the latches on 2 pairs of joycon, and install HALL Sensor analogs for me. He's excellent.

@Buizel Is it possible that it's actually the rail on the Switch rather than the joy-con? I have a similar problem and it isn't fixed by using a different pair.
Currently playing: Metal Gear Solid
Back burner: Hollow Knight, Undertale
We see diminished stock in countries where they've been fixing joycon for many years.

I don't think the Switch successor will be released or announced during 2023. 2023 is too soon, given that Zelda TotK launches on May, and there is just not enough time to announce the successor and give to the new Zelda the appropriate time to get the attention it deserves. Also, announcing the succesor during 2023 would just butcher the Christmas sales period, the most profitable period of the year.
With that said, I think a February announcement with a May - June release during 2024 would be the most strategical time period for the Switch successor.
If reports are coming in that only just now are next Gen Nintendo console kits are being sent out, then I would wait a lot longer than this year for the next console.
@shadow-wolf my take on this situation is that, at the lastest holiday 2024 all of us will be playing Nintendo lastest hardware, year by year, Switch hardware sales has been decling and i doubt Nintendo will wait until they reach the same level Wii sales reached before the reveal of Wii U, they must strike when the iron is still hot(not wait when it demand is waning), so is advisable to launch the Switch sucessor when the demand for Switch is still strong, the shareholder meeting in may shall give us a better glipse about the future of Nintendo Switch and possibly it sucessor
@TheBigBlue
That report was false, and a deliberate prank feeding bad info to the guy just to see if they'd retweet it without verifying the source, which they did.

My only hope for next switch is getting native resident evil 7/8 and Yakuza series. I get that along with current output from Nintendo and I will be tickled lol. Oh and m.2 ssd hard drive, the micro sd solution is just not gonna cut it.
@old-dad
All the Resident Evil games will come over. No question. They squeezed as many as they could on Switch and will put the rest on Switch 2.
Yakuza though, I wouldn't get my hopes up. The director is a massive Sony shill and has endless excuses for avoiding Nintendo. It's just not gonna happen. Not unless Sega forces it, which I doubt they will.
SSD is pretty unlikely due to the space it would require for expandable storage, and the extremely high cost of the smaller form factor (which itself is still WAY larger than micro SD). I'd bet on micro SD, so... it'll have to cut it. Would love to be wrong, but I'm not holding my breath. There's also the fact an SSD would not only require expandable storage to follow suit, but cartridges would become much more expensive as well, as they'd need to offer similar speeds to achieve the same performance as digital games. Unless Nintendo forces installation
