@JaxonH They definitely received a visual facelift compared to the original releases. I believe they also have newly added minimaps and save anywhere features. And, of course, completely remastered soundtracks.
Some people take exception the fonts used in these releases, but some people are difficult to please.
Currently Playing: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (PC); Unicorn Overlord (NS)
@Ralizah
Think they patched the fonts. I remember when it released and there was a mod out to fix them. Then SE released a patch and ppl had to undo the mod, or something.

I guess how good a lineup is depends on your perspective. For me, 2020-2021 were good years in their own right. But 2022 has been the best year in gaming since 2017 Switch.
Triangle Strategy- one of the best srpg's of all time.
AI Somnium Files Nirvana Initiative- a quality sequel to the best VN I've ever played, thanks to the higher budget and full 3D character movement
13 Sentinels- speaking of VNs, this game is kinda VN but also kinda strategy, it's weird, but it's VERY good.
Zombie Army 4- one of the funnest online co-op games I've played since Monster Hunter and Splatoon. Complete with gyro aiming, small file size, fast loading and killer graphics and performance for a hybrid port of a current AAA game, it's not one to be missed
Nintendo Switch Sports- don't care how much ppl hate, this is a classic release. Just having HD Wii Sports bowling and golf on a hybrid handheld device is dream come true for me
Portal 1/2- games I've been waiting for to go handheld since 2012 when I bought a Vita in hopes of playing Portal.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak- the best video game of all time. I'm still playing it.
Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes- the best musou game ever released.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3- one of the top 5 best jrpgs ever made
Splatoon 3- my favorite competitive shooter ever released
Persona 5 Royal- they said it would never happen, that it was a pipe dream... and yet, in the Year of Our Lord 2022, it happened.
Nier Automata- another "best of the generation" game that was long dreamed for on Switch
Bayonetta 3- best action game ever made, bar none
Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope- one of the best strategy games of all time. Though different than Triangle Strategy, both are equally deserving as best in genre
Dragon Quest Treasures- first ever HD, open world DQM game
Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core- an amazing remakester that personally, I find more enjoyable than FFVIIR
Pokemon Scarlet/Violet- though it has its issues, I hear good things from those who have actually committed to playing it. Seems there's a lot of fun to be had.
Tactics Ogre Reborn- just to round out the trifecta of strategy games on Switch in 2022, one of the all time classics sees a hybrid release
Trails From Zero- a spectacular release of a classic game that's actually the best version you can play
Rogue Legacy 2- the game that finally got me into the rogue-lite genre, and it's fire
Neon White- one of THE best FPS I've ever played.
Not to mention SIFU, No Man's Sky, Tunic, Olli Olli World, KOTOR 2, etc.

I didn't realize just how much quality DLC is on the way next year. And nearly every single one of those is going to be a must have.

Persona 5, FE Engage, and Crisis Core should carry me all the way up to TotK, so I'll be good for a while. As much as I'd like octopath 2, and Kirby, I just won't have the time.
And TotK should carry me all the way up to the 2023 Sepetember direct lol. My 2023 is pretty much set 🤣
@JaxonH Oh yeah, it has just been hit after hit lately. I think this year and the next are going to reaffirm how essential the Switch is, despite its aging hardware. Sure, the console itself may not impress many people anymore, but the games just speak for themselves. It is truly an amazing time to be a Nintendo fan or just a fan of games in general.

GB/GBA on Switch Online @Grumblevolcano add Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom to your list of DLC/expansions(is very likely that Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is gonna have a expansion pass just like Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild did, one focused on gameplay and another more story oriented).

I do think 2022 had better Switch support than 2017 overall. All it was really missing, and this is the reason why 2017 will remain more fondly remembered, is a polished AAA blockbuster with mainstream appeal. 2017 had the devastating one-two punch of Super Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild. And, frankly, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for most people, because almost nobody owned a Wii U, lol.
@Ralizah Absolutely. The third-party support this year especially was amazing. As you mentioned, I think the only thing holding me back from saying that this is the best year the Switch has ever had is the lack of a huge AAA release. If TOTK would have released this year, I would be singing a different tune right now.
But I think that 2022 is sort of the "prelude" to the absolute monster that will be 2023, both in a first-party AAA sense and a third-party sense. This year was awesome, and next year just looks like it'll be turning it up a level higher.

Does anybody know the best way to loose a tight stripped screw?
Needle-nose pliers, maybe with a bit of superglue. Or Dremel the head off then use the pliers.
Or put a small bit of elastic band between the screw and the screwdriver
@Ralizah no year can top 2017, a year Nintendo released Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2 e Xenoblade Chonicles 2, 2019 come closer to surpass 2017
As expected the Switch version does indeed seem to be coming out after the other versions. This seems to happen a fair bit with third party games, so I’m curious how it’ll look on the Switch. I’m definitely getting it on PS5 though next month if reviews are decent.

So, it's that time of year again... the Nintendo Switch year in review. Since the Booster Course Pass came out early this year, I wonder what game I spent the most time on? lol
My Switch in review said my most played were all Pokemon games lol (Scarlet, Arceus and Brilliant Diamond). LIVE A LIVE is still my Switch title of the year though.
I'll be honest, I promised myself I wasn't gonna complain about it anymore. But I'm so thrilled that I had three games I played more this year than Xenoblade 2. I already played way too much of it last year, so I would've been bummed out if my, in hindsight, largely regrettable post-game run had been played more than the games I was actually fond of (Xenoblade 2 has its moments, most of them I experienced last year, trust me :V). And barring anything I play in the next 2 or so weeks, they are the games I liked the most that I played this year, so that's nice.
It looks like NSO Expansion Pack is going to be the last Nintendo news of the year. We've got the Mario Strikers update (America trailer shows December 13th, UK trailer shows December 14th) appearing in a few hours, there's the Tetris 99 Kirby theme on Friday but every year since NSO's creation there's been December wave(s) of games on the service:
December 12th 2018 - 3 NES games
December 12th 2019 - 2 NES games and 4 SNES games
December 18th 2020 - 1 NES game and 4 SNES games
December 10th 2021 - 1 N64 game
December 16th 2021 - 5 Genesis games
I'd imagine another batch of Genesis games is most likely but I'm still holding out hope that Goldeneye appears (Xbox haven't done their 2nd half of December Game Pass batch yet).
