@KilloWertz
The original XC isn't like most games where you focus on one specific side quest. At least to me, I could never play the game that way. It overloads you with menial sidequests which are best approached from a "set it and forget it" standpoint. If you happen across enemies you need to kill for a side quest they'll be marked. Basically just go about your way through the story and if you see side quest objective markers on enemies, take them out. Otherwise carry on.
That's how I did it. Otherwise you could spend hundreds of hours on side quests and never get anywhere. If there's low hanging fruit, I'd grab it. Aside from that I just kept trucking with the main story mission.

Woke up and blasted out the Old West chapter on Live A Live. This one was very short and sweet, and probably my new favourite chapter overall.
It basically did everything Imperial China did right, but transplanted it from kung fu movie to spaghetti western, one of my favourite genres. Again, why all the chapters don't do just Imperial China but the genre is X, I don't know.
If I was to have any downsides to this chapter at all, I would say that it has quite a lot of dialogue choices that literally don't do anything. It didn't spoil my enjoyment of the chapter, but I don't know why any of this stuff was necessary. Especially as other chapters teach you to try things multiple times, as they sometimes result in new outcomes, but here there is only ever a choice to progress the scene and a choice that will lock your character in an endless loop. Sometimes for fun effect like with the milk thing, but it got a bit less amusing the longer I went on.
I also found the final boss pretty tough, but that is an "issue" with the whole title, rather than just with this chapter. It is kind of annoying they do this, because you're playing through a chapter that you are really enjoying and then they just slap a sour taste right at the very end, which ends up being the thing most lingering.
@JaxonH Ok, makes sense. I was going into it basically treating it as a normal open world game after seeing all the side quests. So I'll just accept them all and just complete each if I stumble across it. Good to know, thanks.

@KilloWertz@JaxonH There are definitely sidequests I'd focus on, as stuff can happen that'll make them difficult or impossible to complete later on as the story progresses, but not the meaningless "collect/kill [x number of things]" ones. It should be pretty clear in the quest description if it's something with some narrative heft or just filler.
A lot of the sidequests in the first two games aren't great, though, so if a sidequest seems aggravating, just forget it and move on. Not worth the headache.
@Grumblevolcano a Nintendo Direct dedicated for Splatoon 3 just like Nintendo did for Splatoon 2? could they also do this for Bayonetta 3?(Nintendo did a Nintendo Direct dedicated for Bayonetta 2 in setembre 2014, i could see they doing the same with Bayonetta 3)
Just watched the NL Youtube video about the new Shin Chan game. Seems like a great game and those summer vacation games too. I can not get enough peaceful games, so I am sure to buy Shin Chan.

@Giancarlothomaz I think it'll depend on whether there's a September general Direct. Looking back to 2014 you had:
February general Direct
April Smash Direct
April Tomodachi Life Direct
April MK8 Direct
June general Direct (E3)
August Hyrule Warriors Direct
September Bayonetta 2 Direct
October Smash Direct
November general Direct
Japan also had a few 3DS Directs and a Monster Hunter Direct but Japan did get the New 3DS in 2014. Now looking at 2022, Nintendo could technically get away without doing a general Direct in September and in that outcome they'd definitely do a Bayonetta 3 Direct in September or October along with a Partner Showcase in either month.
I don't think they'll do that though. I think they'll do a general Direct in September with spotlights being Bayonetta 3, Scarlet/Violet and NSO Expansion Pack. Don't get me wrong, Pokemon hasn't been in a Direct since March 2020 (Isle of Armor got info in the Mini that month) but given how little we actually know about the game if they opt for trailer in August rather than Pokemon Presents then I could see a big spotlight in a general Direct (similar to the Sword/Shield segment in September 2019 Direct).
Usually they do a spotlight for the big January - March title but if that's BotW 2, I could see them just closing the Direct with a teaser trailer instead.

I personally doubt we'll get a dedicated Bayonetta Direct since the latest trailer we got gave us a lot of info (in only 3-4 minutes no less), though I am definitely confident it'll get it's own 4-5 minute section in a general Direct if one were to come out before it's release. Splatoon meanwhile still has a lot of unanswered questions that a dedicated Direct could answer easily (stuff like the idols, single player, splatfests and testfires are all examples of what could be shown off) and Pokemon then is.....admittedly an absolute wildcard but I'm personally holding out hope for either an early August trailer or a late August Pokemon Presents (though being slotted into a general Direct similar to SwSh and LGPE is also possible).

That Climax Edition from Japan was such a hard scoop. I love the steelbook that it came with though. Exceptionally gorgeous.

I know it's not late August but between me calling Mushroom Gorge coming back in MK8D, my powers of prediction have been shockingly good recently.

All I really want to say is A Hat in Time is quite possibly the next-best 3D platformer on the Switch after Odyssey. And I'm mad I didn't find it until a couple weeks ago.
Haven't played it on Switch, but had heard some good things about it so bought it on Xbox a while back. I have to say, I just bounced right off it - couldn't get into it at all and ended up abandoning it after a few hours. Actually, the last few 'acclaimed' 3D Platformers I've played just haven't done anything for me, including some that are considered classics that I didn't play back in the day - Hat in Time, both Psychonauts games, Conker, Banjo, Mario 64 etc.
It's not even a case of not liking the genre - Mario Galaxy is one of my all-time favourites and loved the likes of Sly Cooper and Ratchet & Clank on the PS3
Congratulations, @Fizza .... With your powers, please can you get SE to hurry up with Star Ocean 2nd Evolution R that we've been waiting for since 1st Departure R came to Switch ages ago?
