I feel like this is why people hate when Nintendo actually announces things. Folks care more about leaks and rumors than official info.

@Ryu_Niiyama Yep, I remember how people spent years and years talking about a new Pokémon Snap but when the game finally gets announced and released the thread on this forum is dead less than a month after its release as people would rather talk about the imaginary games they want and their release dates than the games themselves.
It's sad really as if people lived in the now more they could be playing and discovering some great games rather than waiting for news on The Legend Of Super Mario Kart: Prime 4.
@Ryu_Niiyama@jump
I feel the same way about Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to some extent.
Its dedicated thread on NL is almost barren, though some members of the community have explicitly stated they don't want to read said thread for fear of spoilers, which I can understand.
I hope it becomes more active once the game has launched though. Love helping people out when they don't understand some mechanic or have trouble locating something in-game. I also plan on keeping a journal on Twitter with screenshots and maybe some taglines or jokes here and there.
Never done such a thing before, but it sounds fun.
SNES and N64 are on NSO, there's the rumour about GBA coming to NSO which leaves GX or a localization of Climax (the Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light localization isn't a part of NSO) on the front of old games. Nintendo ignores the GC's existence so I'm going with the prediction that the rumour turns out to be for Nintendo's next mobile game like how Sony created a new Wipeout after a long drought just for mobile.
Would've said more courses for MK8 Deluxe but Nintendo's staying completely away from crossovers in Tour and all the DLC will be from Tour.
Remember SyluxHunter who is the leaker I said I'd watch after they correctly predicted Nier Automata, Persona 3, 4, 5 and Mario Rabbids for the last Direct, and having checked their previous post history with other correct leaks. And then they told us Bayonetta 3 would release Oct 28th 3 weeks prior to the announcement, and then told us about the announcement the day before? And I said OK, this leaker is gospel now.
They agreed to an interview with SwitchForce. Their whole shtick is pretending to be Sylux, which hey, whatever. All I care about is whether you're providing accurate info.
In any case, you can watch the interview if you want. But they gave a tease for something not yet announced. And I'm curious to see if anyone here can decipher it.
Binary would be 25 7 2 16 which, if translated to letters, would be YGBP. You Got Boost Power? A new F-Zero game? No, we're never getting another F-Zero lol. That can't be it. Could be dates? 7/25 and 2/16? But why the reverse order then?
Maybe someone smarter than me can figure this out.
edit
Holy crap, it was an F-Zero reference!
He does say manage expectations a bit, though. Perhaps just a port of GX?
I would LOSE IT at a new F-Zero announcement, I've fallen in love with the series thanks to original and X being available on NSO so I'd love to see a new entry in that exact same style of gameplay with maybe a few little modern flourishes here and there. The fact that it would probably have online also makes me incredibly excited. To be honest, all they'd need to do is bring Death Match back and I'd be all about it. Makes you wonder when the next big Direct would be then if this potential info is coming out now 🤔
(also if it were to be announced, we should definitely organise some multiplayer matches in X on NSO in preparation)

@jump@Ryu_Niiyama It's mad, right? In particular I can't stand when people complain about Nintendo Directs having so much that "we already knew about" when "what we already knew about" was just rumours to begin with. And after a game is announced people only care about the next game being announced. We could have a new Mario Kart, 3D Mario and 3D Zelda in a quarter and people will still be asking where the rumoured Donkey Kong game is.
Not to say people can't have their fun and discuss rumours/leaks and possibilities for the Switch's future...but I think it does go a bit too far sometimes.
@seaboyluca In fairness I think it's fairly difficult to discuss RPGs before they release. In particular with XB3 I imagine many people interested are XB1/2 fans who are guaranteed to buy it day 1, and want to go in as blind as possible.
@Ryu_Niiyama I think it's about what standalone announcements mean for general Directs instead, to me April and June this year perfectly sums this up. E3 was cancelled and BotW 2 was delayed to Spring 2023 at the end of March so when April saw the following in the space of a few weeks:
Several Live a Live trailers
Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes trailer
XC3 release date trailer
Splatoon 3 release date trailer
You could interpret the trailers in 2 different ways:
1. See the announcements just as announcements, that it's nice seeing updates on upcoming games
2. See the shadow drop trailers as a sign Nintendo isn't doing a June general Direct and instead choosing to dripfeed info throughout the summer
Point 2 did end up being the case which will have been disappointing for many.
@TheMelodiusRose
I'm always different.
Paw Patrol Grand Prix looks more interesting for me than F-Zero games.
I don't play games what mostly peoples here played since I have different live experiences.
@jump wait you have news on The Legend Of Super Mario Kart: Prime 4? What is it? Do you know what font the title screen will use? What about the file size? IS THERE OFFICIAL BOX ART YET? I NEED to know. Nothing else matters!
@Buizel And after a game is announced people only care about the next game being announced
This is extremely common nowadays. It's why I've been saying we don't need a big 1st party Direct. The purpose of Directs are to communicate games coming. We already have a stacked year of games coming. But some truly do live off the hype cycle more than they actually play games.
@seaboyluca
I'm avoiding the thread because I want to go in blind. I'm a diehard Xenoblade fan. There's just not much to talk about when you know you're getting the game and CE day one.
But your point has merit. I noticed the same thing with New Pokémon Snap. All anyone ever talked about, until we got it, then nobody's interested. Same thing with Star Fox (though that game had some issues). And I'm quite sure F-Zero will be the same. There just aren't many F-Zero fans left out there. But you never know. Maybe ppl will surprise us.

I mean, there's not a lot to talk about with Pokemon Snap in general, right? People complained that it was never ported or got a sequel. Now it has a sequel, and the original is on NSO, so there's not much to say about it now. Last time I checked last year, the sequel had outsold the original by 4x or so. As long as people are putting their money where their mouths are, there's no issue.
I will say, though, and I realize this is incredibly irrational, but I'm going to be salty as hell if a new F-Zero releases on Switch and we still haven't heard anything about a new release date for Advance Wars because somewhere in the world, a war is being fought. There simply is no other series out there that can scratch the particular tactical itch that these games do, and this one was promising support for online play.
I'm wondering if MK8 Deluxe DLC wave 2 was actually why the general Direct didn't happen (kind of like how every general Direct from March 2018 until Fighters Pass 2 was finished had some sort of Smash Ultimate news). Everyone was expecting a release around July (6 waves = 4 months between each wave for equal spread) but unless Nintendo's actively trying to sabotage Mario Strikers, that isn't happening.
You should know by now you can't predict Nintendo. Albeit extremely unlikely, it could happen. And as of the information we got yesterday, the odds just increased significantly. I still think it'll be a GX port, but if it does well, a new game could be in the cards.
